The Substitute Bride

Chapter 1845 The Schedule

"You don't really need to feel sorry. What has happened has happened. I'm very grateful for you taking care of me these past few weeks," Charles commented indifferently and silently continued having his lunch.

Pretending that nothing had happened, Angel brought up another topic and talked to Charles, even though the latter was not responding.

Although Charles was having lunch, he didn't eat any of the dishes that Angel had prepared. After what happened last time, he had decided to put his guard up.

Feeling embarrassed, Angel finally stood up, ready to leave.

"I'd better go now so you can get some rest. See you tomorrow," Angel said to Charles, waiting for his response. But a few minutes passed, and Charles remained quiet.

Feeling frustrated, Angel lowered her head and left.

Once she was gone, Charles stood up and threw the food that Angel had prepared into the dustbin.

From the doorway, Angel saw what Charles just did, and she clenched her fist as she felt the blood rushing to her head. She had not stepped from the room yet but didn't dare to turn back and confront Charles. She knew that he was giving her the cold shoulder.

Tears started to well up in her eyes as she murmured to herself, "Charles, sooner or later, I'll become your woman."

Angel continued to visit Charles daily despite him giving her the cold shoulder. He tried his best to avoid eye contact with her.

She could do nothing to improve the situation. Soon, Angel grew tired of it, and as a result, she decided not to visit Charles as often as she used to.

On the other hand, Charles felt happy about seeing her less, even though he knew he had hurt Angel's feelings.

In the Shining Company, Leila had been celebrating the start of her success.

Leila sat on the president's chair, grinning from ear to ear. The Chief Executive Officer metal desk sign had made her day. The more she looked at it, the more excited she became.

She had finally built her reputation in the company after successfully getting that project. Impressing both the other employees and the shareholders, she managed to change their attitude towards her capability in running the company.

"Knock, knock!"

"Come in,"

Leila answered as the sudden knocki

ess at work and within the family. You truly deserve that."

"Aunt Melissa, thank you for trusting me."

Leila felt so excited that she burst into tears. Although she bought some shares from the other shareholders over the past few days, it was not enough for her to carry out her plan. Getting part of Melissa's shares would definitely be a game-changer. After they were done with the necessary transfer procedures, Leila would become the biggest shareholder in the company.

Keeping this thought in mind, Leila got even more excited. She decided to treat Melissa better so that she would expedite the transfer of shares as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, in the Tarsan Corporation

Holley had just signed a contract. Grabbing her car keys, she was about to go home when her phone started ringing. Checking her caller ID, she saw Ferry's number. Holley couldn't help but think about what he told her the other day. She wondered why he was calling her now. No matter what it was, Holley was sure it wouldn't be any good news.

"Do you have any idea about Leila's schedule?" Ferry asked the moment Holley picked up the call.

Confused, Holley couldn't answer immediately. She wondered why Ferry wanted to know about Leila's schedule. Hearing no response, Ferry got annoyed and repeated his question. So Holley replied quickly, "Yes, I do. Why would you want to know that?"

"None of your business. Just send me her schedule," Ferry said impatiently, completely ignoring Holley's question.
