The Substitute Bride

Chapter 1921 Fallout

"What's happening to me? How could you have made a fool out of me for this long?" Black gave a bitter smile. He looked exhausted as if all his energy had been drained from everything that had been happening recently.

"Black, please, don't talk like that. Don't you love me anymore?" Holley said with tears welling up in her eyes. She clung to Black with all her strength. This time, unlike before, Black just stood there motionlessly. She knew that Black already knew her secret, but it still pained her to see Black like this.

She knew that this was her fault. She had originally just wanted Black for his money, but, as time passed, she eventually grew to care for him the same way he did for her. She'd grown to love him so much so that she didn't want to leave Black ever. Black loved her, and she couldn't ask for anything more. It didn't help that Ferry kept pressuring her too. Still, the facts remained the same—she loved Black too.

"I love you. But isn't that how you have been taking advantage of me? Holley, how could you do this to me? How could you play me like a fool?" Black shouted at Holley hysterically.

He already had a lot of alcohol in him. He was drunk, and instead of blacking out, he was suddenly hyper-aware of everything, and he was suddenly recalling all that Holley had done to him.

"Please, do you really think that I wanted to do any of those things? I had no choice! I wanted to be with you, but your father wouldn't allow it. So this was the only thing that I could think of, so I could survive and be with you at the same time! Don't you get it? I had no choice!" Holley shouted at Black out of desperation. She was so frustrated because no one seemed to understand her, not even Black.

Black, on the other hand, was infuriated by Holley's comeback. How could she say something like that to him? She was the one who had lied to his face, so she didn't have the right to accuse him of anything. He was so angry. He grabbed her, and haphazardly pushed her into the bedroom.

He then threw her onto the bed and began to tear her clothes off her.

"Black, what do you think you're doing? Let go of me!" Holley started to get scared of Black forcing himself on her. This wasn't like his usual tenderness.

"What? Now I don't get to touch you? I'm just trying to help you by trying to get you im

er anything.

Holley getting what she deserved was the best news Isla had received in a while. She would have told Sheryl if only she wasn't too busy.

Phoebe immediately took her phone out and began to search for the news about Holley.

Holley's name was all over the news—Phoebe couldn't help but be concerned about the comments section. It had blown up!

She'd always known that Holley was the type of person to get herself into trouble a lot, but she didn't think that it would be to this extent.

Now that the news was already out, the Hu Family would never accept her now, no matter how much Black loved her.

Holley had been lying for so long, and she deserved to finally be exposed.

Phoebe couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Holley had probably been planning all this for years, and she had still failed.

"But it was also you who had set up Sheryl, so you deserve what's coming to you," Phoebe murmured to herself and went on with her work.

When Isla left the office, she headed to the hospital to see Cassie. She needed to talk about Sheryl with someone or else she was going to go crazy. She just needed an ear, someone who was going to listen to her.

"Isla, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at work?" Cassie looked worried when she saw Isla, thinking she must be sick. She had just finished her night shift and was about leave when she saw Isla.

"Don't mind me. Have you read the news?" Isla asked as she walked briskly to Cassie, grabbed her hand, and pulled her into the car, all in one fell swoop.
