The System of a Vampire

1 The system a blessing or a curse

Most people when they were selected to gain a system it would be recorded as the greatest day of their life but not everyone was lucky enough to collect a normal system, to be more specific only one person was not that lucky.

"You are free to go" said a man wearing dark robes.

"Now what" asked a young man stepping out of his quarantine

"You will remain on standby until called upon" said the man

"Well have you decided which guild I will be assigned" asked the youth

"What guild no one wants someone of your demeanor infecting their guild" said the man casually

"What do you mean of my demeanor" asked the young man with a spiteful look

"A dark creature such as you wouldn't be accepted in a guild, the leaders put you on a black list" said the man

The young man stayed silent as he followed the man and was taken to a private sector, he had been kept in a facility for a few months having tests ran on him. Seeing the effects of blood on his physique.

'At least they helped me get past the Ghoul stage, but they don't know that' thought the young man as he sat in silence during the ride

He was now a initial stage vampire giving him access to some of the common perks of being a vampire. An example would be Black magic, basic Blood runes, enhanced speed and strength, and acute senses.

"One more thing, the Guilds have united and made a request for you to be kept from their members so you will be kept in a sector we have recently cleaned out neat the wall, it is a small farm where you may do as you please" said the man

"So what am I to do for funds and resources" asked the young man

"Well that is where I put an end to their bigotry Draig, since they wish to cut you off from the world then they will give you one percent of their resources gathered each month" said the man

"One percent each month, but what about food" asked Draig

"Well you are gonna live on a farm and you also have your own personal gate into the forbidden zone" said the man with a laugh

"So what I am supposed to survive by my own means" asked Draig

"Basically" said the man without a change in voice

"You know if I didn't know some monsters are edible I would have thought you were being racist" said Draig

"You can eat regular food" asked the man in surprise

Draig remained silent after that, he was being treated as an unknown and left to fend for himself for the most part as well as being cut off from the world. He vowed he would upgrade his system and make them all regret it one way or another.

Draig was dropped off on his farm and then an iron gate was set in place after the car had left leaving him alone in the wide open space, sighing as he was truly left alone he went to find the supposed farm house that was here. It didn't take him long to find it though, it was old and spooky and he was pretty sure it smelled like death.

"This is definitely racism" said Draig as he stepped inside to get out of the sun and train his current skills, upgrading the proficiency would allow him more capabilities and the practice would make the movements more fluent.

With that thought Draig practiced til night fall waiting for his first shipment to come, he was supposed to get resources starting today at one month intervals. He waited and waited but found nothing was coming. Narrowing his eyes out of spite Draig walked to the gate leading to the Forbidden zone, he had to eat after all.

Sprinting into the wooded area of the forbidden zone he came across a goblin village, he figured this would be a good place to get some resources.

He checked his status via the system to see how much energy he had to spare and noticed a blinking light in the corner.

"Drink the blood of a Goblin to gain its inherent ability" read Draig seeing that it would just be something else to use in the future he went for it. He skulked through the village looking for a well off Goblin so he could gather a good bit of stuff, his footsteps through the village were nonexistent and his speed was ridiculous as he busted into a large hut by sneaking through the window.

He saw a Goblin sitting in front of an odd circle, it seemed he hadn't been noticed yet, stepping silently he crouched behind the goblin and sank his teeth into its neck savoring the taste of blood flowing past his lips. The goblin struggled for a bit before he went limp and started to shrivel up.

Checking his menu again he saw his mission was complete, and he was shocked at what he had gained.

The new abilities he had gained were things that humans had no hope of understanding but now he had the inherent knowledge of it. He had discovered the Goblin form of alchemy, a far more effective set of brewing techniques that made potions far more potent, Voodoo but it quickly changed to curses in his skill list. He guess he knew why no human could ever hope to learn these ways, it was in their blood.

He scavenged around and gathered what he could using the system's storage and departed the goblin village and returned to his farm through the gate. Draig immediately went into the basement of the farm house, and removed everything he had taken from that goblins hut before placing it on the various shelves.

Once again he looked at his status and saw his system upgrade bar was five percent full.

"So I can increase it faster drinking the blood of the monsters in the forbidden zone" said Draig

He no longer felt hungry having drank the blood of the goblin so continued practicing his skills he would see to it that the guilds regretted slighting him, he would make them regret ever having cursed him to this seclusion.
