The System of a Vampire

It was odd as Draig awoke.

" When did I fall asleep" wondered the vampire spawn.

"Good morning dear" came Yuki's voice pink dusting her cheeks as she smiled in a relaxed manner.

Seeing the heiress Draig's memory was jogged.

Draig and the heiress flew atop the roc for some time until the egg released a deadly pulse of energy.

'Damn it' thought Draig as he felt the ring start chipping and cracks formed along its curves.

Panicking a bit the Vampire felt the roc destabilizing once again.

'Father I'm starving' came the ethereal voice of the egg as the roc 's shimmering form was absorbed increasing the torrent of malignant energy.

"You gluttonous heathen" growled Draig realizing the egg was still a mystery to him.

However Draig still had to worry about his surprise companion on this trip. Yukon seemed sickly from the amount of energy being exuded, her death would be blamed on him causing him a reputation of infamy.

Draig had an idea but it was risky, with no time to think of the consequences he bit into the egg as hard as he could deciding that devouring it would be better than trying to keep it but it was to his chagrin that he felt his teeth shatter on its shell.

Cursing silently the Feratu heir was about to release his mouth until he felt a surge of energy flood into his body. An all too familiar feeling filled his being and his eyes glowed an unholy crimson and silent sound of a chain being broken responded from his body.

Blood began to converge around him as it formed an armor of sorts engulfing him and Yuki just in time to hit the ground.

'Blood Armory' came Draig's last thoughts as he passed out.

Looking towards Yuki intently causing the girl to blush the heir spoke.

"Where is the egg" asked the Vampire seriously.

"Don't worry, it seemed precious to you so I've been looking after it" explained Yuki quickly as she revealed to be nestled safely where she had started a fire.

"Excellent, bring it to me... darling" smiled Draig in an all too familiar manner. His Crimson eyes glowed with ŀust as he stared at the egg.

'Its all still there' thought Draig grabbing at his ċhėst as a wicked smile began to crawl across his face.

'I just needed a key' came the follow up thought.

Yuki saw the smile and heard the way he called her darling, after the kiss she couldn't help but obey the command.

"Here you are my dear" spoke Yuki softly handing the Feratu the egg.

'Father is stronger' came the excited voice of the egg as if it was in awe.

'Father can hear me!!!!!' Shouted the egg causing Draig to chuckle.

"Always my child" stated Draig ċȧrėssing the egg in what seemed to be a loving way.

'Father can understand me' cheered the egg as it rocked of its own accord.

Yuki off to the side was beginning to question the sanity of her 'darling' until the egg began rocking.

Then suddenly the vampire's words crashed into her.

'Child' seemed to echo in her mind causing her to steam up.

'Child, we have a child' thought the heiress as she turned completely red.

Oblivious to her thoughts Draig was having a talk with his 'child'.

"You have helped your father a great deal, thanks to you a bit of my old strength has returned" began Draig only to be interrupted by the egg.

"No not at all, you could say I am infected with a horrible sickness that has robbed me of my true ability. Thanks to you feeding me I was able to recover just a bit" lied Draig causing the egg to frantically rock back and forth.

'No father how do I make you better' demanded the egg.

"Just continue to grow stronger and next time you feel a feeding frenzy let me have just a taste" smiled Draig deceptively.

It seemed with the realization that he could once again attain his power as the Feratu heir his old ways began to show through. His scheming was lost on the young demon inside the egg as it found itself motivated.

'Father I won't fail you, I will help you get better and become the demon you once were' announced the egg.

Draig merely rubbed the surface of the egg in a loving manner at this declaration.

'Good and with that I'll have enough to not fear many in this world' smiled Draig

"Darling I know you have only just awoken but it is getting late, should I prepare something for you to eat." Asked Yuki reminiscent of newly wed.

Realizing it was in fact getting dark Draig wondered how long he had been out but relieved himself of the thought in opt for answering Yuki.

A large demonic sword seemed to struggle in contempt as it witnessed the interaction.

'I apologize Sylvie' thought Draig as he was reminded of his comrades fate.

However with this a strong surge of malevolence filled his being as he turned his eyes to the sky.

'i don't know when but I'll be seeing you again you pathetic excuse of a goddess' thought Draig eyes gleaming with ill intent.

Yuki seemed oblivious to the change in demeanor and carried about cooking as if all was well.

As she did so the Feratu remembered his initial plan of making a name for himself.

"Yuki it seems I am unfamiliar with our location, would you perhaps know?" Came the sudden question.

"Of course, as we were falling I saw the trade city of sasori in the distance, it shouldn't take us long to arrive there so the little bit of rations I have should be enough" answered Yuki causing Draig to smile.

"Good it sounds like a perfect place to settle" smiled Draig mischievously.

It seemed fate would fall in the Feratu's favor for the time being and only the future would tell if it was for the benefit of this new world.
