The System of a Vampire

40 Dreaming of a Red Christmas

Draig watched the snow fall as he stood before Zarra, he wanted to discuss what his words meant but found the situation to be inappropriate. Everyone from his faction had been called, now here they stood awaiting the Mage's words.

"Everyone the time has arrived for the Planes war, I wish everyone the best of luck and hope for your survival. I will now transport you to the starting point for our Plane." announced Zarra keeping his words short, before he finished the spell he cast a look towards Draig.

'I wish you the best of luck brat, come back stronger but most importantly come back safe' thought Zarra giving his usual cocky smirk.

Draig saw that smirk and gave one of his own bringing a genuine smile to the Mage's face, this would be his moment.

Draig and company were delivered into a part of the Forbidden Zone, Draig smiled to himself. Zarra had transported them close to the Elves City, the Vampire was sure that this was done on purpose. He continued smiling even though this was supposed to be a disadvantage it would turn into a boon for him and his Coven.

Draig called everyone together and prepared to explain their plans.

"Alright everyone, I happen to know where we are. However there is a slight problem with our current location." stated Draig

"My Lord, what do you mean" asked Goeki having changed to a smokey black armor.

"There is a city of Elves near here, they are likely to be siding with their counterparts from their original Plane. I feel this would play detrimental to our chances later in the war if we were to let themgroup up." continued Draig seriously

"My Lord, are you proposing we strike against the City of Elves." asked Zura uncertainly

"That is exactly what I am suggesting. We stand to gain more than what we would lose, it has only been so few months and you have forgotten the training from the camp. We are here to achieve victory through annihilation, any intelligent monster in this Forbidden Zone should be considered hostile." stated Draig attempting rile up their killer spirit.

Draig had a separate reason for wanting to return to the Elf city, he felt something calling out to him, thus he acted on his instinct.

Draig didn't put any complicated tactics in play just using basic formations, summoners in front, Melee Combat Classes in the middle, and Ranged Combat classes in the back. At the very head of the formation was Draig himself, his form was wispy as he delayed the activation of Mist Form.

It was a trick he had learned during his combat with the Oddities, using the skill to avoid their triple attack tactics. It would allow him to remain visible but still avoid damage, Draig looked imposing leading such a large force but it would be unfortunate for those other representative races from the other Planes.

Elsewhere at different locations bright flashes of light began descending, however there were many small Flashes. As it cleared it showed that there was not just one representative race, either that or something was amiss.

Back in the City in a ornate hall Zarra stood outraged as he stared at these other beings from the different Planes, he had just witnessed this obvious attempt at an invasion. Gritting his teeth he lunged into the group kicking one into the air, he had decided this was a pointless endeavor but he would be able to help.

He would be able to get rid of the opposing sides greatest trump cards, just as the other races had caught up and a loud explosion erupted. The whole city was silent as the witnessed this, Draig far away had recognized that figure who had detonated. He felt a wave of emptiness strike him, the answers he was seeking had just been ripped from him.

Draig thought hard on the last conversation he and Zarra held, his parting words that day. Draig couldn't deny that inside he desired family, he had been human and perhaps in some places he still was. He had seen all those flashes in the distance as well, he had to assume the worst and this was no longer a staged fight.

Draig wasted no time rushing for the Elf City, he needed to boost their numbers and that city was the only way. He mentally summoned those elders he had turned, this was no longer a game. Draig knew he would have to rally everyone he could but for now he would kill and raise any who stood before him and turn any who were worth the effort.

Liam who had previously faced Draig felt a change on the wind, it seemed he was not long for the world. He hoped that his successor would be able to live up to his name, unfortunately he was unaware that his death was coming in the hands of a forgotten foe.

Draig making a path for the city had started casting flames onto the surrounding forest, he was intent on allowing no escape. He would use this opportunity to fix his shortcoming by draining the blood of these elves just as before and boosting his mana pool.

Draig's eyes during this phase of events had slowly seen a transformation, growing from a predatory gold to a menacing Crimson.

There was a theory that was suggested long ago that suggested vampires were only capable of growing when they were being pressured. Not any kind of pressure mind you but a combination of pressures from the mind, a fear even that grew from the heart.

Desperation was one of the guiding forces of this transformation as well, desperation from the possibility of being wiped out. Greed played a roll as well, the want for a evolution was strong. Draig didn't even realize himself that he was undergoing a change as victory was his only thought.

'Death will bring me strength, soon I will make every race regret these offenses. Death awaits all." thought Draigas the Gates of the City came into view.
