The Third Party

Chapter 21 - 21 - Surprise Us

3rd Person’s POV (12 yrs. Old)

The next day, as usual, Ken woke up before the two, went to each of their homes, woke them up in their sleep -quite rudely and funny at the same time- got ready for the day, and wore their uniform, a battle attire given to them one month ago when their last uniform either didn’t fit them anymore or too tight to wear.

Ken wore a simple brown robe, leather boots, gloves, and his Scythe held on the middle by a garment on his back, Celine wore light garments that allow for unrestricted movements, leather boots, gloves, with her quiver on and bow on her back,

While Wilbert wore his armor, not exactly covering him all with metal, but enough to cover the vital points, the chest, shoulder, and lower parts of his body, like the rest, he wore leather boots, and gloves, with his sword sheathed, and shield on his back.

They’re not exactly that pleasant to look at when it come to meeting guests, but this was only the clothes that their parents deem pleasant to meet the guests, their parents were also asked by the leaders of the forest to attend the said event, along with the three,

The parents also prepared for this occasion, wearing the clothes they wore at their first visit and brought with them their weapons, they traveled together to the Northern Forest’s village to meet the guests.

Upon arriving at their destination the locals have also prepared themselves wearing clothes they deem proper for the occasion, the leaders are at the front gate with their four students at their side, with the village having only one entrance, the group of humans that arrived where astonished at the display the village present before them.

Soldiers and magical practitioners of the northern forest are at the front wearing their uniforms when in duty, the commoners at the back situated on what seems like an elevated platform made of tree roots, having sufficient space to mingle and move around, the village entrance and square are close to each other and quite large to accommodate about 5,000 people on the village.

The people weren’t surprised to see the group of humans approaching their village for they became accustomed to their presence in the past few years.

“Papa, mama, uncle’s and aunties, we shall join our other co-disciples and masters now.” said Ken to the adults to which Alfred nodded, the three kids proceeded to the back of their masters each positioning beside their co-disciples.

While their parents went to the side lining themselves behind the village soldiers and magical practitioners, -fun fact, even thought the people on this village are innately adept at magic, they still consider that learning magic like the humans can give them understanding about the depths of magic,

Hence they are called magic practitioners, a concept they had adapted from their neighboring magical beasts civilization, the dragon kingdom- and waited for the arrival of their guests.

Light chatter and conversations carried out on the square with the occasional questions of the children beasts to their parents about the said event, some other children marveled at the soldiers at the center of the square and those at the front,

Often looking where their father, uncle or brother are located, then sharing their discovery with their friends and voicing out how proud they are to see their family on the line up of soldiers, but of course not all male beasts of the village joined their military might, some are with their families, and have other lifestyles.

The villages range from bunny magical beasts to wolf magical beasts, others are deers, bears, and many other animals you can find on the wild, they all look so festive in their clothing and their animal features such as animal ears and tails, how are there not bird magical beasts, Ken thought.

Their first guest arrived in what looked like a giant nine-tailed fox sprinting from afar, upon closing the distance the fox seems to be carrying with it on its back a beautiful adult female nine-tailed fox wearing commoner clothes, and a somewhat feminine looking boy nine-tailed fox also wearing commoner clothes in their human form, having distinct features such as fox ears and the nine tails.

Upon arrival the giant fox laid down its body to let its two companions move down to the ground, then the giant nine-tailed fox transformed itself into a puff of cloud to which a handsome adult male nine-tailed fox walked out of -wearing the same clothes as his family-,

Approached the female and boy nine-tailed fox, gave a loving embrace to the both of them, before they approached the awaiting leader.

The difference of this nine-tailed fox to other races are that they are highly associated with spiritual magic, some of them are so inclined to their spiritual nature that they are able to phase in and out of the spirit realm in this world,

One could say that they are the guardians of the spirit realm as well as powerful practitioners of spiritual magic, making most of their kind live on the spirit realm.

“Greetings Klein of the Northern Forest, I am Zin, this is my wife, Alira, and our son, Flin, a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, we deeply appreciate your approval of letting our son learn and train under your guidance.” The male nine-tailed fox whose name Zin said.

“The pleasure is ours Zin, rest assured that your son will be well taken care of here.” replied Klein.

“Wow, their fur is so white, just like their hair.” Ken, absentmindedly said, to which everyone chuckled, he snapped out of his daze and look around, everyone -which I mean his companions and the adults- gave him a knowing look,

Making the boy blush, lowered his head and counted one to ten to will the blush to go away, after, he took a deep breath, exhaled and then looked straight.

The family of nine tails smiled at the comment, and was then escorted by Ulysses to the side where the parents of the three children are situated for them to join in wait of the other guests to arrive.

Not for long, a gust of wind swept through the crowd of people, making them look at the direction the wind came from, which was up, on the sky a majestic giant red bird can be seen hovering over the crowd, before it landed on the empty space at the town square relatively away from the crowd.

Klein gestured to his co leaders and disciples to follow him and receive their guests, four people are at the back of the majestic bird, another beautiful woman wearing a stunning red dress embroided with gold and silver flower design fit that of a queen, without a crown,

A dashingly handsome teenager wearing what seems to be a blue uniform with embroideries of white and gold at the sides, with an embroided picture of a bird -kind of like a phoenix-, and a boy wearing a sky blue stunning clothes with gold embroideries and patterns similar to his big brother and a girl wearing a red dress embroided the same as her mother, all having wings and horns sprouting from their forehead as their distinct feature of the Guardian Avians.

The majestic giant bird transformed itself unto its human form by a display of swirling feathers and fire, came out a very handsome man wearing clothes similar to his sons but having a distinct feature of a big bird at his back, he approached his family whom waited for him at the center. All of them are wearing white gloves.

The Guardian Avians are what they literally mean, for they became the sole defenders of the magical beasts society, one such guardian is situated here at Northern Forest, the giant bird the three children met on their journey towards the forest, they guard the sacred rights of life, and nature,

Making them formidable beasts in the forest more so on the sky, they are also magical practitioner of the higher caliber, focusing on offensive and defensive magic. So far, four nests are scattered all over the continent as to fulfill their task of protecting the land.

The group of Klein stopped a few feet in front of the family of birds, to which Klein and the family of birds bowed to one another, Klein knew this was their way of acknowledgment.

“Greetings old friend, quite a big greeting we’re receiving today.” said the man, whom regarded Klein as his friend.

“Likewise Varus, how could I not welcome my old friend lavishly.” replied Klein, as they laughed heartily.

“It has been such a long time Klein, how have you been?” said the woman beside Varus.

“I’m doing well Cara, thank you for the concern.” replied Klein, to the woman named Cara.

“By the way, this is our eldest son, Herris, and our twins, Riyah and Icarus.” said Varus, gesturing to the teenager then to the twins whom are either sides of their mother while the teen stayed behind them.

Klein nodded, and gestured for Lana to receive the guests and escort them beside the first guests who arrived in front one of the elevated platform near the center, there are a total of five platforms, one facing the entrance and two facing each other at each side.

Klein gestured for his group to follow him back to the entrance of the village, while walking towards the entrance, suddenly the surroundings of the village glowed, and several magic circles the color of gold appeared everywhere, from atop the houses, the sides of the trees, on the ground, and even on mid-air.

Right then draconic beings appeared on top of every magic circle summoned, signaling the arrival of the Dragon clan, they have distinct features of horns protruding from their heads, sharp ears similar to elves, a scaly tail, and having patches of scales here and there found all throughout their body, sharp cat like eyes and most of all a powerful aura.

Each individual of the Dragon are as strong as 3 men in both human and magical beasts term, let’s not forget about those primal animal beasts, even the draconic women are far more superior to women of the other races when it comes to brute strength -scary-,

But what separates them from other barbaric races are that they hold high intelligence, making them the first of the magical beasts to ever advance when it comes to society and economy.

As powerful beings -as they think and see themselves-, they rose from an unorganized living, to a compact and progressive kingdom, and now that they don’t have any more problems when it comes to their society,

They turned their attention to magic studies, creating different sorts of devices that has many purposes such as energy or in a more practical way, tactical devices and or magic effective on the battlefield.

The knowledge they accumulated throughout their study of magic, is what they call as, arcane knowledge, their most recent breakthrough. Despite being intelligent beings, they still follow a hierarchical manner, their civilization is built upon a kingdom,

But the humans are not aware of such a place or society, which you may ask, why would a powerful race ever send a candidate to study and train under an inferior one? The answer lies on the individuals.

As all of the dragons appeared through their magic circles, some of it didn’t disappear as the individuals who summoned them are still situated on it, floating, unlike the magic circles on the ground had disappeared once their caster has been teleported.

All of the dragons who appeared from the magic circles all wore armor akin to that of a soldier of a kingdom, all silver, helmet silver, those that appeared on the ground scrambled towards one another forming squads of five by five lining themselves at the center of the town square, leaving quite a bit of space on the center,

Enough to let a group of 5 side by side without bumping on each other’s shoulders walk through, there were ten squads in total, each parallel to one another, all of which facing the center in front of the gathered guests.

Suddenly a big magic circle three times the size of the previous ones9om appeared just outside of the entrance of the village on mid air, and a portal was opened, out came additional soldiers of the Dragon Clan, but these soldiers wore golden armor with lines of silver on the outer parts of the armor along with golden swords and spears.

Their helmets have a distinct feature of a dragon’s face, they were called the royal guard -for which the townsfolk, including our protagonists will learn in the future-, and after having two more squads walk out of the portal, having the same formation as the ones before, a draconic man walked wearing a different attire.

He looks to be a butler, but not your typical black suit butler, this one wore a white suit, then another draconic man walked out, this one wore an attire similar to that of a scholar, the color of brown is clearly dominant on his attire, having different types of color adorned all over his shoulders, and upon close inspection, everyone could recognize them as jewels.

And finally, before the portal and magic circle disappeared, a girl, dressed in what seems like a Gold silver lined battle armor for a female, walked out of the portal, her hair was golden yellow flowing on her back, at chest length,

Her armor gold with silver linings at the edges, including her boots and gloves, but leaving her right shoulder with a shoulder plate adorned with red jewels, anyone who recognizes the jewel, will realize that the jewels were rubies.

From time to time, the rubies would fluctuate with power, a brand new development in the Dragon Clans researches, a magic armor, making the user able to tap in the jewels magic reserves and their element compatibility, in this case, the rubies compatible element would be fire. She didn’t wear any helmet, and on her side, a sword sheathed in a silver scabbard.

As the girl walked towards the entrance of the village, the butler and the scholar followed behind her while the soldiers remained where they were, as she approached Klein whom was dumbfounded but rolled his eyes internally thinking to himself ‘royals’,

She stopped in front of him looking into Klein’s eyes as if signaling something, immediately kneeled and bowed, sending a mental image to all his people including the humans to kneel and bow before the girl, and so they did.

“Hail to Miss Lang Wyvern, first princess of the Dragon Clan.” said Klein, upon hearing the greeting, the girl dragon, named Lang, looked around before her, a smug light in her eyes before looking back at Klein and said.

“Rise.” a cold tone reverberated on the otherwise silent crowd, before everyone deliberately rose to their feet. The scholar at the left side of the princess walked in front and said.

“The royal family has approved of letting the princess train under you, a favor given by the king as he was saved by your disciple, the… human.” as he said the last part, he felt slight contempt, as he could not believe a mere human to save a Dragon King, imagine what would the higher ups think of their highness of this, and as it did so.

Many dragons with high standings on their kingdom disapproved of the King’s decision, the Queen whom had always had a fair standpoint on both sides was torn in between, but finally no one could stop the King from sending his daughter,

As he had said, that it was his final decision, it was this precise though that the scholar held some disgust on the so called human who saved their King.

“May the King live eternally, please do give him my thanks.” Klein said indifferently, looking at the scholar with cold eyes, clearly insulted by the way the scholar spoke of his human disciple.

Although he was quite confused as to who saved the King of the Dragons, he had no prior knowledge about it in fact the news shocked him initially, but covered his shock by feigning indifference.

“That I shall.” the scholar replied before walking back to his position behind the princess.

Before anyone could escort them towards the reception area at the cave of the Continental Snake -where Klein and Ken fought, the area being devastate by their magic, but was cleared up and restored to its former glory, decorated with beautiful lights and ornaments-, the princess shouted…

“WHO AMONG YOU SAVED MY FATHER?!” she looked at the six humans one by one at the left side and the three behind Klein and the other leaders one by one, assessing them.

“YOU! You have quite a strong power, did you save my FATHER?!” she said to Wilbert, who was stunned on his position, cold sweat broke on his forehead, before he snapped out of his stupor before looking around and then at the princess, pointed to himself, in a questioning look.

“Me?” he said.

“Yes you.” Wilbert didn’t know what to say, and suddenly a voice broke out on the tense atmosphere.

“I did it your highness.” the one who spoke was Ken, who had a small smile on his face but sprouting cold gazes, he could not believe that the first time he would encounter dragons, they would insult his friend, he even idolized them so much.

‘This is a bit disappointing.’ He thought.

The princess looked at Ken with a perplexed expression, she thought how could a mere weak human like him save his powerful father, and when she checked out Ken’s power with her magical senses,

She deduced that Ken isn’t as nearly as strong as she is, and so came her thought of humiliating him in front of so many people, in a confident and somewhat prideful voice she said…

“I want to challenge you to a duel.” Everyone around except the dragon and village soldiers were stunned at what her highness just said, some whispered how she could be so barbaric as to challenge a human, while others talked about how Ken would survive such an opponent, others just talked about how pitiful Ken became as he was targeted by the princess.

As they had though that there is a power difference between the two but to one specific person thought that no they were terribly wrong, all was heard by her highness, she swept her eyes around the place including the leaders of the village and confidently added…

“Let’s see how strong you are… human.” A display of arrogance to which Klein didn’t fail to notice, so he said…

“Your highness, please be reasonable, this is the first day of your visit as our guest and you both still haven’t qualified to face one another, with the lacking of information between the two of you after all.” so many thing was on his mind, but what prevailed the most was the safety of his disciple and of his people,

If the both of them decided to go all out due to provoking one another, he can’t even begin to think how much damage the two would be able to dish out during the battle.

As the leader of his village, he is often doing business to better accommodate, and improve the livelihood of his people, who are mix races, compatible and incompatible variables are present on his village,

A certain example are those water and fire beasts that don’t get along due to their incompatible affinities, so he would always take the opportunity of traveling to other places and learn of other beasts lifestyle and try to make adaptations towards the similar lifestyles of his people back at the village, on one such visit, he had visited the Dragon Kingdom, specifically the palace.

He was regarded as one the important figures in the magical beasts world, as so his title says, the Continental Snake, who had made a name during the war of the magical beasts tribe, although it wasn’t him who made the name, it was his grandfather,

But he has made a name for himself, due to his travels, he was called the traveling Continental Snake, you can guess the reason behind the title.

In the palace, he had seen the princess’s power and control over her magic, he can also say the same thing with Ken, which was the reason behind his anxiousness of what the two may do, but before he could completely abolish the thought of fighting Ken in the princess’s mind, Ken spoke…

“I accept your challenge.” Klein was stunned on his position, and hang his mouth internally, while keeping a stoic expression.

While Klein was in over his head, Ken’s thought were of confusion and curiosity, confused as to why would the princess fight him, for to him, it seems kind of pointless, and curiosity, as to what kind of power this new person possessed, and so his curiosity won.

Ken looked at his master with pleading eyes, using his cuteness to the max to help persuade his master.

Klein who thought that he had long been immune to his students acting all cute towards him especially when he makes them do harsh work, oh but not Ken, neither had he complained or grumbled about what Klein had made him do in the past, which were mixes of both harsh and relatively easy tasks.

So it was a REALLY big surprise for him to witness Ken begging for him, everyone knew how excitable and outgoing this child could be, but this, this was just pure torture, Ken had asked for the first time using his puppy dog eyes,

But everyone present can’t help but feel dread at what Ken asked for, to the princess, she saw this scene as a type of normal commotion, so she paid it no mind, thinking that Ken would forfeit the match.

“I hereby give permission to my disciple to officially accept your challenge your highness.” she was smug at first, but when she processed what Klein said, she was stunned out of her wits, she was thinking of how stupid this human could be, to accept a challenge from a dragon, the most powerful magical beasts in the planet.

She remained stunned on her place for a while, on the other hand the butler had no other thoughts but to prepare for any unexpected outcome, like the loss of the human child, or possibly a fatal injury to be inflicted to the human child,

The scholar though, thought that the human child was really foolish to accept the challenge of a dragon, especially a royal, but there was an underlying feeling that something was not right, why would the child simply accept the challenge? He would have to watch to find out.

“Please follow me to the training grounds.” Klein said, immediately snapping everyone off of their thoughts and those that were in a trance, the villagers were in a state of pity for Ken, while their guests, the Descendants of the Nine-tailed Fox, and the Guardian Avians all wore a perplexed expression, they were able to witness the power of dragons sometime in the past.

Ken and Princess Lang who was led by Klein together with a huge crowd behind their tail, arriving at the training ground, Klein gestured for the two to proceed at the center while he instructed his fellow leaders to lead everyone who wishes to witness the battle to stay at the sidelines,

Ordering anyone who can use special spatial arrays using space magic to cast a barrier around the training grounds open field, so as to give extra protection to those outside the barrier.

This action didn’t go unnoticed, as Princess Lang felt the fluctuation of magic around her and saw that several magicians -including the parents of Ken- and magical beasts had set up a protection barrier, she thought ‘why was it necessary to bring up a shield? I’m sure I can finish this battle in less than a minute’, to Ken he thought nothing of it.

As Her highness swept her eyes around the training ground, a plain field with trees on the edges, but something caught her eye on her left, -the entrance to the field is on the right-, she saw weird contraptions, and she fairly recognized obstacle courses,

As these were present on their own training grounds, but the other tools, if it was what they were called, gave her a funny feeling. (A.N.: think about gym equipments beside the obstacle courses, but made with wood and stones, I’ll explain this later)

“What are those things? They look really ridiculous.” the insult clearly struck Ken to the heart, but he wore an impassive expression, for even thought the princess had insulted the things he made, he can’t give away that it was him who made them, otherwise he would feel the brunt of the princess’s cockiness. He went on and feigned ignorance.

When the barrier was finally set up, Klein walked back at the two and instructed them to face one another and keep a reasonable distance before the fight begins, he added…

“The rules of this duel are simple, no killing one another, no inflicting fatal injuries, and just show your prowess, as we cannot have both of you dying in on us.” ‘And giving us additional problems’ he thought, he looked at the two, turned around and walked towards the edge of the field, before facing them again and said in a loud voice.

“Begin!”

“Before we both start fighting each other, I just want to say, I hope you don’t lose easily.” said the princess, to which Ken had only smiled, which irritated her.

“Fire magic: Pillar of flames.” The princess summoned pillars of flame two times her height on the ground towards Ken who didn’t bat an eye and just stood still.

After the flame pillar appeared on his feet a relatively larger circle engulfed his surrounding before bursting forth towards the sky, the height was two times the height of the trees,

The villagers including the parents of the three children gasped as they had seen with their own eyes as Ken took the brunt of that spell.

The princess smiled as she thought she had already won, but one person thought otherwise, and in a few moments of the flames rising up, a vortex appeared on the side before it engulfed the flames into a ball of fire, there Ken was, standing unharmed by the fire that engulfed him.

There he was a fire ball on his right hand seemingly twisting and turning, creating tails around its axis, a type of spell he created through his power ‘Concept’, he applied the concept of a black hole, one that sucks all even the light of stars,

But disregarding the circumstance of the black hole dispersing whatever it had sucked in to nowhere, which made him hold on to the flames the princess created, as he was still not familiar with the concept of space magic, he used this as an alternative. He still smiled and said…

“Fire Magic: Stardust Blaze.” with the power of the stolen flames from the princess, he amplified its firepower before tossing high into the air and fell in front of the princess before bursting in a series of flame waves around it, pushing her five meters away from her initial point.

Luckily she had used her hands to shield herself and her legs to steady herself upon landing back, the push wasn’t that strong as it didn’t cause a turmoil, but she deduced that if she had been caught at the center of the blast, she’s sure that she would have sustained damage.

The leaders and Ken’s parents can’t help but feel nostalgic of the way Ken uses his magic, always creating new spells, even in the heat of battle.

“Eh? She was only blown away? But I thought I had added enough firepower to push her back more, maybe she’s relatively immune to fire? Seems so, since it’s the magic she used, is it her primary magic?

Or I still need to tinker with that spell.” The princess could not fathom why her opponent would speak out their assessment especially about the outcome of their action, she was angry.

“You dare talk about your spell nonchalantly as if it’s a normal occurrence while in battle?! Are you stupid?!” she furiously said. Ken just shrugged his shoulders. The princess held out her hand before chanting…

“Take this! Fire Magic: Destruction balls.” magic circles, the size bigger than her appeared in front of her in columns, a total of fifteen magic circles, some appearing on mid air, it gathered flames into the size relative to the magic circle, before rushing towards Ken in a slow but somewhat normal speed.

This time he could deduce that these relatively big fireballs have much more power than the pillars of flame than before so he decided to evade them, and just as he had thought, the impact of these fireballs are really devastating as he had seen that they not only left a crater on its wake, it had slightly pushed him backwards where he evaded.

Luckily he could not feel any type of damage from the blast radius, only a violent push, so he took bigger leaps on flipping backwards, jumping sideways, forward -but not approaching the princess-, to evade the giant balls of fire from hitting him. He was like a gymnast on the field, performing jumps and rolls and cartwheels.

The princess got really irritated as she could not believe she still hasn’t hit Ken with one of her destruction balls, it should be hard for him, or anyone at that, to evade this attack of hers, but here is someone she unexpectedly encountered who could.

The last destruction ball still didn’t land a hit on Ken as he evaded again, situating himself in front of the Princess, before jumping and flipping back six times, leaving space between them -approximately 7 meters away-.

“My turn, Water Magic: Downpour.” droplets of water appeared on thin, air around and above the princess in a relatively big space before dropping on her and the ground creating a puddle of water on her feet and soaking her.

“Is that the best you can do? It barely even hurt!” -Princess Lang-

“You’ll see, Lightning Magic: Lightning Bolt!” pointing his fore and middle finger from his right hand at the puddle a small magic circle the color of yellow appeared before summoning a lightning bolt directly hitting the princess head on, she screamed at the excruciating pain the lightning gave, and looked angrily at Ken.

“The water blocks the only source of nullifying the lightning so as you could not easily get rid of it.” said Ken, looking at the burnt form of the princess.

“So you toyed with me?! Fight me fair and square!” -Princess Lang-

“Sorry, just testing.” Ken rubbed the back of his hand while the princess who was still electrocuted by the lightning, got even more angry, and in a burst of power and flames, she engulfed her surroundings with fire coming out of her, creating surges of power along with heat to the surroundings, the bystanders weren’t spared by the heat though.

The flames dispersed before she suddenly rushed towards Ken in a leap, forming claws from her sudden outburst of flames, she calls this Fire Magic: Dragon claws, as it had the shape of a dragon’s claw in their beast form, and the explosive magic of fire, a hit from this causes explosion to go out.

As Ken witnessed it when the princess swiped at him down but hitting nothing but air and ground as it exploded beneath her, luckily he evaded just in time, and so the series of evasion and swiping filled the fields as they went from one place to another.

“PRINCESS, DO NOT LET YOUR EMOTIONS TAKE CONTROL OF YOU, YOU NEED TO STAY FOCUS TO FIGHT AND WIN!” the one who spoke was none other than the butler of the princess, who had a small smile on his face as he watched his princess fight.

Princess Lang heard her butler’s voice and was shaken out of her state, she abruptly stopped pursuing Ken and dispersed the claws of flames, before closing her eyes, taking a deep breath and then exhaled before opening her eyes again, and thought to herself to focus on the fight and use her head to win through it.

She took a stance pressing her feet close to one another, her arms raised relatively high at her side, closed her eyes, as she summoned a much bigger magic circle beneath her feet, bigger as in it even engulfed the ground Ken was standing on,

Four more magic circles appeared from her, three revolved around her while the other positioned on top of her, she began to chant a spell which Ken could not hear.

All of a sudden a bright light emitted from the five magic circles before the princess opened her eyes, the color having changed to white, and said…

“Fire Grand Magic: Star Flare.” A big explosion of flames erupted with her as the center but wasn’t harmed as it covered the entire field with its blast, the ground shook hard similar to that of an earthquake occurring but only a short moment.

The people outside of the field would have been involved if it had not been for the barrier they had set up, but unfortunately for them, they were swept of their feet, good thing Klein escaped outside the barrier before the spell could be completed making him also fall on his feet.

As everyone rose up, they looked around them and saw that the field was completely devastated, the ground was covered in black with flames burning here and there, but there at the center of the blast, the princess was fine but looking perplexed, they looked at the direction the princess was looking at and was shocked out of their wits.

A ball of ice and water with snow and water revolving around it was floating on mid-air, Ken was nowhere to be found, but the villagers were familiar with this spell. Ken’s defensive Ice and Water Magic: Frozen World, to which he categorized as a type of grand magic that has the possibility of completely defending the caster from being hurt or damaged from outer attacks or spells.

Slowly but surely the ice and water flowed towards the side of the caster which is Ken, creating two sets of wings with the ice wings shaped like bones on the top part making snow fall, and the water wings shaped like flowing water, with residues of water flowing out of it,

Ken floated softly on the ground and dispersed his ice and water wings before smiling towards the princess, and said…

“I never thought you’d make me use one of my Grand Magic, but it’s to be expected of a princess, would you be so kind as to witness firsthand another one of my Grand Magic? I would be deeply honored.” before the princess could utter a word, her surroundings suddenly and in an instant froze creating an ice floor, the edges of the ice didn’t penetrate the barrier.

Ken floated in mid-air snow floating around him before he chanted…

“Ice Grand Magic: Ice Field.” Ice blasts occurred everywhere starting from Ken and then expanded outwards to the barrier before stopping, followed by a wave of falling frosty ice that explodes upon impact on random locations once, and lastly fifteen giant ice balls fell down from the sky, and upon impact blasts and freezes anyone caught in the blast.

A bright white light occurred from the giant ice balls as they fell simultaneously, blinding everyone for a few seconds, before regaining back their eyesight, they looked at the field in all white as ice shards found here and there,

But one particular sight caught their attention, it was a barrier of fire, a big one at that and on mid-air was Ken, below him was the princess with her eyes closed, unharmed.

“You can open your eyes now.” Ken said as he dispersed the fire barrier, and floated down on the ground in front of the princess, the onlookers can see clearly now what’s happening inside after the barrier of fire disappeared.

“Wha… How did you… Why did you save me?” Princess Lang asked, shocked in her mind.

“I wouldn’t want to injure a very talented individual, and besides we’re going to be fellow disciples, I do not go as far as hurting my companions, although I couldn’t say the same with our boys.” He offered her a smile, and a tilt of his head on the side.

Everyone was dumbfounded of the events that unfolded before them, and on that night when the feast was finally in motion after an afternoon of cleaning up, the training grounds looked as if the battle didn’t happen at all, and now here they are at the cave of the continental snake enjoying themselves.

And to add a little bit more spice on the party, Ken did another spell that awed everyone, by the use of fire magic, and his power of concept, he recreated the dazzling scene of fireworks, lighting up in the night in colorful and enchanting lights before disappearing out of sight.

Countless fireworks were chanted by Ken, and later on, was accompanied by others -which were Ken’s first companions and co-disciples-, as they displayed their magic in a beautiful array of spells.

The guests were delighted with the scenes in play, the dragons can’t help but be stunned in awe as they watched the colorful light show, but more importantly on the child, who commenced it all.
