TTPC Ch. 20: First Attempt

After discovering what kind of tonic Lin Yi needed, Pei Xuanqing quickly agreed to provide Lin Yi with tonics containing rich spiritual energy.

When Lin Yi saw the tonic soup, his eyes turned green with greed, and he almost couldn’t help pouncing on it. Holding back with much effort, he drank it slowly and, with bated breath, waited. After a moment, his abdomen began to warm, and a familiar warm current flowed through his limbs and into the dantian area before being absorbed by the Pharmacopoeia in his mind.

Lin Yi was ecstatic. This was his first time drinking a tonic so rich with spiritual energy, so he absorbed much more spiritual power. Just this one tonic was more potent than several tonics from the Lin Family. Drinking it only once returned the Pharmacopoeia to its former splendor from before he suffered backlash.

It seemed to affect his eyes as well, his eyes heating up before he ‘saw’ several golden threads extending from his body, slowly beginning to climb up Pei Xuanqing’s body.

The source of the white light seemed to be……

Between swift flashing lights, he saw a white phantom suddenly emerge, coiling around Pei Xuanqing’s shadow before opening a mouth full of fangs toward him!
