When they sat down and Yang Feng found his legs dangling, his heart plummeted to his stomach.

The safety harness was perfectly set up. To him, it did not feel like it since the straps were too loose than his liking. "Tighten this." Yang Feng commanded the confused worker, pointing towards the safety bars that went over his body.

"I apologize Mr. Yang. The safety harness here is already fastened and secure. However, it will automatically clasp tighter once the ride begins." The worker replied in a respectful manner.

"I don't care, it's not fastened enough." Yang Feng growled.

The worker could not do anything about it. For the worker's record, it was as safe as this belt could get.

"Are you scared Yang Feng?" Zhao Lifei piped up from beside him. His jaw was ticked and he was clenching his fist. The skin on his hand was paler than the moon.

"We don't have to ride it if you don't feel safe." She cared about his boundaries. If the Big Boss is afraid of rollercoasters, she did not want to push him to ride it. Though, he did seem fine the first time they came to the amusement park. Then again, they were in the back and it wasn't the most taunting ride of this park.

Yang Feng was touched by her gesture. He knew how much she wanted to ride it. He did not want to break her heart — which wouldn't happen regardless of his words.

"Start the ride." He ordered the worker who was more than happy to oblige.

"Right away, Mr. Yang!" The worker ran behind the box. He gave the okay signal to another worker that was standing a few meters from the seats.

Just like that, the ride slowly took off, climbing up the railing. Yang Feng still had a handful of his sanity intact. When the rollercoaster peaked and he was facing his doom, all of the rationality flew out the window. Holy shi—

The rollercoaster dropped.

Zhao Lifei let out an excited scream, her eyes wide open and taking everything in.

Yang Feng's soul left his body.

His eyes were clamped shut, his lips pressing tightly together. He was as hard as a rock. His body was tense.

From a distance, one would think it was a mannequin on the ride and not a human. He did not move for the remainder of the ride.

All he could hear was Zhao Lifei's excited, maniacal laughter. She had a gigantic smile on her face. When the ride came to an end, she clapped her hands and shouted, "Again! Again!"

She turned to Yang Feng and burst into fits of giggles. Yang Feng still had his eyes closed and he looked like he went through hell and back.

"Fengfeng, you can open your eyes now." She said the nickname without a second thought. Her eyes widened when something flashed inside of her brain.

She gasped, the laughter dispersing from her face. She grabbed her head when it began to throb. The pain was becoming evident now.

Yang Feng's eyes flew open. He never expected himself to ever hear that nickname again. His head spun to her so fast, he nearly got whiplashed.

She was no longer staring at him.

"Mrs. Zhao?" The worker worriedly asked.

Zhao Lifei's body was hunched over. Her eyes were tightly shut and she was heavily breathing, continuing to hold her head. She cried out when a sudden shock of pain slammed her head.

It was hurting.

Everything was hurting.

She felt like she was stuck with thunder. The place that hurt the most was her head. It felt like someone was drilling a hole into her skull and turning her brain into mush. The agony was too much for her to deal with.

Yang Feng became troubled by her dismay. He threw off the safety harness and ran to the other side of the platform. He pushed the worker aside. "My love? What's wrong?" He questioned her.

All of a sudden, her body went limp.

A horror-stricken emotion flashed by his face. He swiftly undid her safety harness. He caught her before she collapsed onto the rollercoaster tracks.

His heart hammered against his chest. The only thing he could hear was his pounding heartbeat. He lifted her into his arms and took off in the speed of light.

He threw the car door open, startling Hu Wei. He was halfway taking a sip of water when something in black whizzed by the window of the passenger seat. He didn't know it was his boss.

"To First Hospital. NOW!" He snarled, sounding like a ferocious beast out for blood.

With the seething, chilly expression on his face, Hu Wei did not need to be told twice.

He stepped on the gas and the car sped down the road, driving faster than an ambulance. Fortunately, it was late at night, so there was not a lot of cars. The problem was the hefty distance from the amusement park to First Hospital. It would take fifteen minutes of speeding down the highway to get there.

Hu Wei only glanced at his boss once. It was enough to strike dread and uneasiness into him. He had never seen his boss with such a distraught and worrisome expression on his face.

Yang Feng's hands were shaking, but he didn't care about it. Nothing mattered more to him than the unconscious Zhao Lifei. What happened? What went wrong?! She was fine a second ago!

He attempted to get a reign on his jumbled thoughts. It was impossible. All he could think of was the worst-case scenarios. He was petrified and he did not like it one bit. It reminded him of the first time she fainted around him. It was at the birthday banquet of some woman he couldn't remember the name of.

Helpless.

This was what he felt.

Yang Feng didn't know what to do or say. He hugged her body to him. His body trembled when he thought of the things that could go wrong. He didn't want to lose her, no, he could not lose her. If it happened, he would not have a conscience or a heart, for she had the latter in her palms. If she was gone, his heart would go with her.

He knew he was being silly. Death should not be the first thing on his mind, but it was. He could not control that.

Using all of the willpower he had, Yang Feng forced himself to think of something else. He tried to recount the last thing that happened before she passed out.

Fengfeng.

She had called him by the nickname she had used as a child. It was just a nickname, so why did it impact her so much? He could not ponder the possibilities any longer. The car had come to a screeching halt.

Even though it was ten at night, the hospital was still heavily lit up. Yang Feng bolted up the path leading to the hospital and ran into the emergency care center.

"Sir, you cannot just barge in like that…" The head nurse trailed off when she saw who it was. Her eyes widened a fraction.

"Get the keys of the VVIP ward." He commanded her.

She scrambled out of her seat to grab the key card and nearly facepalmed herself. It was strung around her neck. "Should I prepare a stretcher or bed to wheel the young lady upstairs—"

"Just lead the damn way." He seethed.

The head nurse vigorously nodded her head and took them upstairs. She unlocked the door with her keycard and opened the door for them.

Yang Feng set Zhao Lifei onto the bed and draped the blankets over her. Next, he pulled out his phone to call the hospital's chairman. "It's me. Get the best doctors on standby."

The chairman was barely awake on his bed. His wife was still deep asleep next to him.

The thing that woke him up was the specific ringtone he set for CEO Yang. He snapped to conscious right away.

The chairman opened his mouth to reply but Yang Feng had already hung up the phone. He wasted no time phoning the doctors on duty. Just to be safe, he also called the ones who retired home for the day. From the doctors dealing in neurology to the gynecologist, he contacted them all.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.readwn.comfor visiting.
