Hearing her soft voice whisper the words of gratitude made Duan Chengyu's heart melt from the vulnerability he sensed underneath her tough exterior.

He saw her move towards the stove to cut the knob, while putting on an oven glove. Donning an oven glove of his own, he began helping her around the kitchen.

"What are you doing?!"

"Helping out, what else?"

"It's okay, I can handle it by myself. Just wait in the dinning for me!"

"And do what?"

"You can read the newspaper or look at your phone! There are so many things you could do! So please! Just wait there until I bring you your food!"

Liu Rachael could feel her throat hurt from trying to explain to him to just leave her alone to clean the mess in the kitchen and salvage whatever was left of dinner.

She didn't know when he got behind her while she was at the kitchen counter putting food into several serving dishware made from porcelain and placing their lid of transparent glass on each of them.

"Here, let me help you with that."

Liu Rachael could feel his soft breath brush against her ear, as her hands trembled from the ache it drew up from within her.

"You..You..don't need...to help me!"

"Miss Liu, it's okay. I wouldn't bite!"

As if to prove what he said, Duan Chengyu leaned closer with his head slightly resting on her shoulder, while the hands by her waist was as though he was holding her in an embrace.
