The Underground Farm

A laser beam fills the empty space where he once was. Making its target to a giant crab the size of a tank, the magical laser pierces its layers of mana shields, and crash into its shell. finally injuring the beast.

'SKREEEEEE!!' The monster psychic shriek resounded in all of the nearby sentient being's head.

The crab's six eye stalks turns to regard the human who had the audacity to shoot a laser cannon right at it.

The human in question, a blonde haired bulky human, is of course scared beyond belief, after all he just shot a B ranked beast, and getting its full attention is not something he particularly enjoys.

The Crab then floats towards the still shocked human who is still standing there paralyzed with fear, fully intent on crushing this insect into a meatpaste.

All around it, what used to be a calm and peaceful swamp with a nifty little waterfall have long since turned into a ruined mess.

The ground which used to be covered with moss and glowing grass, are now covered with corpses of variety of creatures. (Including humans.)

Meanwhile the darkness of this nice swamp have been repelled by the light produced by a priest, hiding like a coward behind a bunch of tough looking and armed human men and women. Some of which are shooting at the crab with energy projectiles, arrows and bullets.

The crab rushes and crushes through a human who foolishly tries to stand on its way with a human-sized steel shield. It also pincers a bunch of melee weapon wielding humans that's blocking its way. The beast also moves across a small river, a mini mountain of dead bodies, and a huge sword radiating Divinity wielded by a delicate looking black haired human.

Wait.

The crab realized that it had seen something horrible, and hurriedly tries to escape. It used all the power in its reserve to speeds towards the wall. With its ability, it managed to made itself become intangible. Going through layers of rock and—

A voice thundered behind the crab, followed by a blinding bright light.

The black haired human turns to the blonde man wielding the laser cannon, still shocked at this turn of event.

The human begins walking towards the blonde haired soldier with a triumphant smile.

"S-Sir, I-i was just, um..." The blonde human stutters, looking towards his squad members, his companions, while his companions tries their hardest to look away.

Suddenly the man kneels with his forehead touching the muddy ground while shouting:

"PLEASE FORGIVE ME SIR, IT IS MY INCOM—"

"I haven't even been thanked yet and you are already begging for your life?" To the blonde man frantic begging for his life, the black haired human answers it with a carefree smile.

"I-I, SIR! PLEASE SPARE ME! I—" The soldier shouts without getting up.

"Hey, no need for that, just get up first, ok? " The black haired human say it once more, albeit more impatiently.

"What's your name, soldier?" The black haired

Human asked the soldier.

"Leonardi Serebim sir! I am from the fif—" The human tries to answer with fear painted on his face.

"Well Leo, you don't need to be that stiff in front of me. I mean what's the worst I can do? Offing you and your offspring by sentencing them to sliding?" The hero chuckles while the soldier pales.

Seeing that he fails to lighten the mood the hero continues: "I am joking. Relax, relax. Although a cerebram crab creating its swamp this close to the fortress is a bit worrying. Especially with the crusade still going. Can anyone of you tell me what happened?"

At this the hero then turns towards the rest of the soldiers.

The sole priest, while still being the source of illumination for the group, tremblingly lifts up her hand. The hero then asks the female priest, and then the info dump on the topic of the attack on the Cerebram crab commence. However we are here in this scene neither for the hero nor for the humans. And especially not for the exposition of something told by a human.

Meanwhile, far below where the hero and the squad were conversing, oblivious to all of the above conversation, is the Cerebram crab. Still alive and still running away, An instinct of its species that always triggers when confronted by a life threatening existence, and this threatening existence in this case is an enormous Mass of destructive mana.

The crab used one of its eyestalk to look back, unaffected by the bright light and the rocks that it is currently inside of. It wished to see that the dangerous light has stopped chasing it. After all it has been running for at least an hour, not that it could tell. But instead, It sees a vision of horror, as a huge crescent shaped construct made out of condensed holy mana is racing towards it.

Sadly, no matter how hard it tried, it would seem that its live will end on this day.

'Skree...' The crab depressingly thought.

'Skree... Skree... Skreee? Skree! SKREEE!' The crab thought to itself. It will not stand for this!

It's such a shame that it will die.

At this last moment of clarity however, the crab made the most important and final decision in its life.

It is done fighting weaker foes, it is done ambushing.

It had enough of hiding and running.

Fighting its instinct these thoughts echoed inside its expanded mind!

'SKREEEEEE!!!' The crab screams as it turns back and rushed towards the accursed light.

One of them is intangible and one of them destroys everything in its path.

It will certainly die.

The crab knows that.

It will die.

Yet in knowing that it will not run away, the crab is proud of itself.

It let a psychic smile slips on it's hole like mouth.

Converting the energy it used to run away, it prepares the most powerful psychic shield it had ever created in its life. All to combat this most dangerous and final challenge of its life.

As the crab and the slash meets in a forest scattered with glowing blue leafed trees and glowing blue mushrooms with an absurdly high ceiling, a round orb of spherical sway observe this event with fascination.
