The Universe Conspired For Us To Meet

Ronnie let out a loud sarcastic laughter. "You are possibly right Mr Virat Mishra. Does that mean you know that she had a past lover?"

Actually during their University days, Virat never publicly admitted their relationship.

Even when Maya would ask for the reason he'd just say, "You know my dad is a very influential person and also a trustee of this university. He'll definitely disapprove our love if he gets to know about it Maya.. The option we've right now is to study well, get settled and then come back to him."

As for Maya, she had never allowed a man in her life after that horrific incident. But with Virat, she trusted him too much and didn't want to lose him. Hence, she never pressed him further into publicising their relationship. Little did she know the motives behind his "love" for her!

Thus, even she worked hard, both to achieve her dreams alongside the "love" of her life and ultimately marry him and live happily forever. She trusted his logic and wanted to prove her worth to his father to accept her.

Back at home, Virat's father had a big name in the Electronics Industry. That's the reason Virat had chosen to do Engineering in Electronics. He wanted to complete his degree and take over their family business.

But he also wanted to gain some work experience before laying his hands on his company. Hence, he chose to work abroad when he got placed. He also wanted to pursue his Masters alongside work.

Thus, everything he had planned out was in his own interests while his fling with Maya was only temporary. He had also thought of getting back to India and marry the girl his father chose and lead a happy life.

Virat's father was a man of principles who gave importance to his status and class. His dignity and respect in the society mattered the most for him. So, if he heard of his son fooling around with a girl with no status or class, so low that she was living on scholarships, he would be very upset.

Therefore, Virat had no option but to keep his "love" under wraps. Plus, he was only ŀusting over Maya and didn't really love her, let alone plans of marrying her. Hence, he didn't want to blow up their love story and chose to keep it low profile.

Even in their University, not many knew of their relationship except for Sanvi and some of their dance group mates. Thus, nobody would even testify their love story, especially now that things had changed with Sanvi.

Virat didn't accept it nor deny it. He said, "That's just a possibility Mr Roy. I meant, if she would want to leave you and go back to her lover in the past? Because with the medical innovations happening everyday, you can't fully deny it right?"

"You sure are right Mr Virat Mishra. But, then if at all there was actually someone in the past that she loved, I'm sorry to say this, but it's in the past and it can never resurface now…"

A look of extreme astonishment appeared on Virat's eyes. He actually thought Ronnie would regret to have married Maya on hearing the possibility of there being a past love. But then, the way in which the conversation was heading, wasn't what he had expected...

"She's no more the earlier Maya you are talking about. She doesn't want or remember anybody from her past, to an extent that she didn't even  remember her parents too unless I ȧssured her…"

"And now that she's already my wife, I wouldn't let anything of her past affect our present life." Ronnie's mouth set in a hardline.

Virat seemed to have understood every word Ronnie said.
