The Universe Conspired For Us To Meet

Virat who was exhausted by now due to consuming too much of alcohol while waiting for Maya to come. Also, the emotional outburst had worn him out. He rested his head on Sanvi's ŀȧp and very  soon fell asleep too.

Sanvi had conflicting emotions running through her mind from when she was hugged by Virat. She wanted to scream and shout at herself. 'What's wrong with you Sanvi!!! It's not Virat who has gone crazy! It's you idiot! What are you thinking? Virat is your best friend Maya's boyfriend. They both love each other a lot. They're soon to get married too. In that case, this unnecessary, complicated emotions  for him is not right.'

'Stop it! Stop right here! When Maya comes back, Virat will get back to Maya happily. In that case, what about you? You definitely won't get Virat. And majorly, if either of them discover that you had such feelings for Virat, how would they feel? That you cheated them. You'll lose your best friends and their trust on you for life.' Now Sanvi's eyes swam with tears.

She looked down at Virat who was peacefully sleeping in her ŀȧp. She lovingly looked at him and ran her hand through his thick dark locks and ċȧrėssed his adorable baby like face. 'Who can resist themselves from falling for you Virat?' She thought.

Realisation dawned on her. Her hands froze mid-air. 'This sway of emotions is what you need to control Sanvi. Stop what you're doing.' She was shocked at her own thoughts.

Another side of Sanvi whispered in her head, 'So what? Is loving someone a crime? I did nothing but honestly and innocently fell in love with Virat without even realising. How could anyone blame me for this?'

'In fact Virat, I fell in love with you the day I saw you on the first day of our class even before Maya. Rightfully, you should be my boyfriend. But then, you only noticed Maya and not me Virat. You wooed her, followed her everywhere she went though she wasn't actually interested in you.'

'Little did you realise that the girl next to your Maya loved you a lot more than that. You totally ignored me. In what way am I less beautiful than Maya? If it's for her gracious dancing style that you fell for, even I dance really well, better than her too. Why didn't you look at me? Even for once Virat?'

'I still remember the day you proposed to her. That day, yeah right on that day, I buried all my feelings for you. I let go of my one and only love. It hurt Virat. It did hurt a lot. But what else could I do. Now that she's not here, why are you trying to awaken those feelings in me for you which I've long buried all over again Virat?' Tears rolled down her cheeks uncontrollably.

And then she bent down and gave a peck on Virat's cheeks lovingly and blurted out loud, "I love you Virat."

Virat seemed to have sensed the kiss and heard what she said. He smiled and muttered, "I love you…"

Sanvi froze. She didn't know if she had heard it right. Yet, her heart leapt with joy too easily on hearing the three magical words.

But her joy was short-lived. Virat continued, "Maya… I love you Maya." And he hugged Sanvi's thin waist tightly.

"Sanvi… It's Sanvi... Virat…" Tears continued to  flow down her eyes uncontrollably.
