The Unsurpassed Maiden

"Sh*t! You're bleeding bad!" Mi Young announces with pure shock. "We need to treat it right now!"

"N-No." Zhong Yu says while trying to push the black haired girl's hands away from his wound. "High ground…we need to go to the top."

"No! If we do that you'll bleed even more!" Mi Young says. She pushes Zhong Yu's hands that were blocking the large wound on his side and tries to rip some of the clothes that were touching it to avoid it getting infected. "Let me see your wound."

However, Zhong Yu remains stubborn as he pushes the young girl again. "No. It's fine."

"Don't tell me it's fine when clearly there's a huge wound on your side!" The student announces as she slaps the man's hands again.

"Mi Young, you need to take this situation seriously." Zhong Yu says, voice sounding strict for someone with injuries. "Just help me stand up cause I still can't feel my legs. We need to go higher or we're dead."

"You're the one who's going to be dead if we don't treat your wound right now. Besides, what else would go after us? The snake is dead! The scorpion ran away!" Mi Young exclaims while she points at the location where the two giant desert beasts were fighting for their lives earlier. "See? There's nothing to hur—"

The black haired girl didn't even have the chance to finish her sentence as the head of the giant scorpion appeared just a few feet away from her. It happened to be hiding just near them when it heard the young girl's shouts.

"Quick! Move to higher ground!" Zhong Yu announces while pushing the young girl away from her. The scorpion roared as it opened its mouth, getting ready to attack. "Get away from here!"

The black haired girl didn't even have the chance to speak to Zhong Yu when the man used all his force to push her away the moment the scorpion's mouth made contact with the man. Mi Young hears a guttering scream around her when she sees Zhong Yu being eaten up by the desert beast. She later on realized that it was her own scream that she managed to hear.

"Z-Zhong Yu…" The young girl whispers more to herself as she looks at the scorpion who is now starting to retreat and is slowly moving its head down, probably to go hide underground again.

However, Mi Young isn't done with it yet, not when she knew that the beast had Zhong Yu's body. Rage unlike she ever felt before ignited the burning fire in her heart. She screams at the top of her lungs to catch the beast's attention just before it could even go back underneath the sand.

"Come and fight me, you monster!" The young girl announces as she starts moving her hands to perform a battle technique. She doesn't even know what movement she was doing, she was acting all on her instincts and that was enough for her.

The scorpion ignored her as it continued to lower down its body, but Mi Young was faster. She shouted once more as runs from where she was standing and jumped straight into the scorpion's head. Her knees felt the hard shell of the scorpion the moment it made contact with the hard material.

The giant beast shrieked when it realized someone was on top of its head. It started using its pincers to get the girl out of its body but Mi Young was determined. She uses all her strength just to keep herself grounded and attached to the giant beast.

When it realized that Mi Young wasn't going to leave its body sooner, the scorpion decided to take matters by deciding to crawl back underground. However, the black haired student was already ahead of him as she started controlling the sand beneath.

She remembered her lessons with Lady Ning Gwang and how the white haired teacher told her that anything that lies above the earth belongs to the earth, which meant that the sand can also be controlled using Geo techniques. At some point she started doubting her abilities but she remained unbothered as she started her counterattacks by controlling the sand where the scorpion wanted to go.

Mi Young immediately changed her position as the beast started to lower its head. The young girl quickly ran towards the scorpion's back to avoid getting hurt.

The giant desert beast tried to dig the sand again but it only changed to solid ground the moment its head came contact with the sand, it shrieked with the strong impact caused by its head bumping into solid ground. The scorpion let out a battle cry when it realized that it couldn't go anywhere under the sand no matter how many times it tried to run away.

The young student laughed while she continued riding behind the scorpion's back.

Probably getting frustrated, the scorpion changed its main goal and decided to attack Mi Young instead knowing that it couldn't go back under the sand, not when the young maiden was on its back.

"Zhong Yu was right…desert beasts are indeed smart creatures." Mi Young whispered to herself as she ducks down in order to avoid the scorpion's pinchers. It happened a couple of times as the beast continued to grab the girl off of its back. Good thing Mi Young was fast and her reflexes were good because she managed to get away from the scorpion's pincers.

However, what she didn't notice was the fact that she was slowly getting near its tail. It was only when she felt a sudden ominous feeling behind her that she realized that the scorpion was grabbing her on purpose so she would slowly near its tail and so it could attack her using it.

"You dirty little cheat…" Mi Young announces while she rolls on her side to avoid the scorpion's sharp and poisonous tail. She didn't expect the scorpion to be this smart but she couldn't do anything anymore so she opted to have a one on one battle against it.

Getting tired of being on the receiving end, Mi Young decided that it was time to show the giant beast what she got. She hops off its back and makes a series of hand movements. After she made the last hand gesture, she touched the sand below her and all the sand around her and the scorpion instantly became solid ground. Although it didn't solidify the whole desert, her technique still stretched for a couple of kilometers which was enough for her to corner the giant scorpion.

Mi Young smirks at the beast before standing on her own two feet, "Now, let the real show begin."

As if it understood what the young girl meant, the giant scorpion shrieks as it started clapping both its pinchers together. For a second, the young girl thought that it was letting out its battle cry. However, what shock her was the fact that the moment it's pinchers collided with each other, fire started coming out from its tail.

"What the f*ck? This beast is also part of their experiment?" The black haired girl asks herself. "Sh*t."

The giant scorpion stops its movement and lets out another ominous shriek before it starts charging towards the young girl. Mi Young immediately executed another battle technique and started throwing fireballs at the scorpion.

However, it looks like it was immune to fire given that it doesn't even flinch when Mi Young's fireballs hit its hard skin.

"So you're fireproof." Mi Young announces to no one in particular.

When the scorpion was nearing her, she decided to run and think about another way to attack it instead. While she was running, the scorpion started shooting fireballs towards her way. She looked back for a second to check where it was coming from, and her eyes widened when she realized that its tail can also shoot fireballs like her.

"F*cking science!" The black haired girl shouts as she tries to run in a zigzag way in order to avoid the scorpion's attacks.

Mi Young didn't know what to do as she continued ducking and dodging the scorpion's attacks. She initially thought that this battle would let her have the upper hand given the fact that the scorpion couldn't hide beneath the sand anymore because of her Geo technique. However, what she didn't expect was the fact that the scorpion also had something up its sleeves.

While trying to dodge each fireball, Mi Young sees the stone cave where she and Zhong Yu were resting earlier. Then, a sudden thought came into her mind.

"Zhong Yu was trying to tell me something earlier…" Mi Young says to herself while she runs away from the scorpion who was now shrieking behind her. The black haired girl bites her lip the moment she realized that Zhong Yu was telling her to go on upper ground. Even though she didn't know what the other party meant, the young girl decided to head towards the stone cave again.

"I hope this helps me.." Mi Young whispers as she runs full speed towards the cave with the giant beast just right behind her.
