The Unsurpassed Maiden

Chapter 74 - 74 - Prophecy

"What?"

"Are you sure it was him?" Teacher Zhong questions, looking at Mi Young seriously.

The black haired girl nodded her head. "Uhn. I'm sure because it has the same scar as the dragon I saw with the Great Sage."

"Why is he with the Great Sage?" Mi Young hears teacher Zhong whisper.

On the other hand, teacher Ning Gwang has a different question for her. "Why did you see the Great Sage?"

"Oh. That was way back when I was trying to save Chang Bin. The Great Sage was the one who told me that Dong Soo was possessed. He was also the one who pick up Dong Soo's body and brought it with him for more information." The young girl explains while looking at her teacher Hwang with pure honesty.

"Is that so?" Lady Ning Gwang says. She then looks at Mi Young for a couple of seconds before sipping her tea once more. Mi Young heard her grumble something like "I wonder if she's…" but she didn't get to hear the rest of her teacher's sentence anymore.

"Why is Zhong Liu with the Great Sage? What is he thinking?" Teacher Zhong starts to ask while looking at his brother's painting with wandering and confused eyes. Then, the male teacher turns to Mi Young, "Did you see him change his form? Was he a dragon when you saw him?"

"Uhn." The black haired girl nodded. "That's the dragon I saw with the Great Sage. I'm sure of it."

"What is the Great Sage up to?" Mi Young hears her teacher whisper to himself.

"Maybe Zhong Liu's helping him with something? Or he's assisting the Great Sage?" Lady Ning Gwang suggested while looking at the other teacher. "Or maybe the Great Sage needs Zhong Liu's help so he wants him to be by his side."

"Uhm…teachers? Can I say something?" Mi Young asks while raising her hands.

"Go on." Teacher Hwang says. She also felt teacher Zhong's eyes on her so Mi Young proceeded with her sentence.

"Not to offend you, especially you teacher Zhong since you think highly of your twin, but based on what I saw, the Great Sage is using Sir Zhong Liu as his means of transportation…" Mi Young says the last word in a whisper, afraid that teacher Zhong Yu would go berserk if he hears what the young girl just uttered.

"Transportation…that's actually okay—wait what?!" Teacher Zhong says, a look of disbelief and horror can be seen on his face. "What did you say?"

"Oh my god!" Lady Ning Gwang laughs. She has her hand grabbing her stomach as she laughs hard on the sofa. "That is so Zhong Liu to do!"

"Why would he let the Great Sage treat him as his means of transportation?" Mi Young asks, bewildered with the fact that her white haired teacher is laughing at the thought of teacher Zhong's brother being used as a vehicle.

"Well, knowing Zhong Liu, he always wanted to mock their rules and laws. Now, imagine the greatest pride of the Zhong clan, the shifter, to be used as transportation only. What would the Zhong's say about that?" Lady Ning Gwang says between laughter. She also wiped off a few tears that had gathered on the side of her eyes because of too much laughing. "Even though the Zhong's are not existing anymore I'm sure their spirits are fuming in anger and embarrassment right now."

Mi Young hears her teacher Zhong sigh. "Knowing my brother, I think that was indeed his main purpose. Whatever, at least he's happy."

"Speaking of ancestors, how come you and Lady Ning Gwang are still looking so young?" The black haired girl decided to ask. The question has been bugging her mind the moment she learned that her two teachers were both people from the past. Although Lady Ning Gwang has already told her about her and her friends mastering Time Magic, she still wants to know more about it. "And how come you guys were able to hide your identity? I'm sure lots of people are also wondering why you are still able to keep your young image despite the years coming by."

"I told you already that we have mastered Time Magic." Lady Ning Gwang says. "As for the people around us, me, Zhong Yu, and the others made a pact that if we are still alive, we keep on changing our names for every place we will go to."

"But I thought Hwang Ning Gwang is your real name? So you mean to say you already have lots of different names?" Mi Young questions.

"That's true. Being alive for thousands of years gave me lots of names. However, we made a pact that we are going to use our real names once every two hundred years, and this era is our 117th time using our real names." Lady Ning Gwang explains. She also looked at teacher Zhong to confirm if her calculations were right, to which the other teacher nodded his head, confirming teacher Ning Gwang's question.

"That's so cool. So, will I able learn how to master time as well?" Mi Young asks, suddenly feeling giddy and motivated.

"You can. But that would be a lesson for several years after." Teacher Zhong says.

Mi Young gave him a defeated look, "But why?"

"Little Miss,. You just learned Materialization and it's still in the most basic step." Lady Ning Gwang butts in. "I think Time Magic is too advanced for you. Even Zhong Yu, and I, as well as our other friends, get to learn it once we reach our thirties."

Mi Young crosses her arms at her teacher before pouting. "Fine. But you promise to teach it to me even if it will take me years."

"I promise." Lady Ning Gwang says with a small smile. "Why are you so obsessed with learning different magic?"

Mi Young stops at her question. It was the first time someone took notice of her "strange" habit which is why she wasn't prepared for an answer. It took the young girl a couple of seconds before answering her teacher, "Well, I just love to learn different kinds of magic."

"Is that so?" Teacher Zhong says while eyeing her student with his piercing gaze. Mi Young gulped at him while she tried to nod her head. Teacher Zhong hums before he dismisses Mi Young with a wink. "Well, whatever, that's a nice habit as well. Knowledge is very important nowadays."

The black haired girl heaves out a sigh of relief when her teachers finally stopped asking her questions that caught her off-guard. Aside from the fact that she isn't prepared to answer any of their questions, she also doesn't want anyone knowing her past and her true intentions.

As time passed by, the three of them continued talking to each other, but mostly, it was just Lady Ning Gwang and teacher Zhong Yu reminiscing about their past together as well as their other friends.

Mi Young also learned that there are actually six of them in the group; Lady Ning Gwang, the Zhong brothers, Soo Young, and two others that they haven't talked about yet. Mi Young wonders why the two of them are acting so careful when talking about the two other friends.

The two teachers were both talking about something serious, (Mi Young assumed they were talking about a serious matter since their voices were almost a whisper now), when teacher Zhong suddenly said a word that made the black haired girl's ear perked up.

"Teachers? Can I ask another question?" Mi Young says. The two teachers stopped talking and looked at her, Lady Ning Gwang nodded her head at Mi Young and signaled her to keep going. "Can I ask what a prophecy is?"

Teacher Zhong freezes on his seat. "Did you hear us talking about that?"

"Uhm..I just heard the word prophecy but I didn't hear the rest. However, that's not the reason why I'm asking you this but because I remembered a dream that kept on haunting me and kept on telling me about a certain prophecy." Mi Young explains while looking at her teachers with pure honesty.

"Dreams? Prophecy?" Lady Ning Gwang whispers. "What did it tell you?"

"Well, in my dream, a voice kept on mentioning about a maiden who's born to fulfill a prophecy. So I'm asking you both what actually is a prophecy?"

Mi Young sees Lady Ning Gwang opening her mouth to say something but teacher Zhong suddenly cuts her off. "Well, a prophecy is something written by powerful beings. It's either the beings were aware or not when they were writing these prophecies. These prophecies are like their way of telling the future to the people around them. Prophecies may be a sign of war, famine, problem, luck, and many more. People before, treat prophecies as very important files for the future. Because of these, kingdoms and places were able to anticipate and be prepared for upcoming storms or anything."

"So you mean to say, prophecies are real?"

Teacher Zhong nodded his head. "Yes. Although it may not happen on the near future but prophecies will happen no matter what."

"Why? Does your dream kept on saying about a prophecy that's about to happen? Who do you think is the prophecy about?" Lady Ning Gwang asks. Mi Young noticed how her teacher looks a lot more serious now.

"No." Mi Young shakes her head.. "It kept on telling me about my own prophecy."
