The Unsurpassed Maiden

"What was that for?!" Kwang Soo half shouts half whisper as he glares at Mi Young. The senior then pushes the black haired girl off from him as he stands up and dusts off his clothes.

"That's for leaving me behind!" Mi Young answers while throwing an accusing finger at Kwang Soo.

Kwang Soo's eyebrows immediately furrowed when he heard what the young girl said. He points at himself before he says, "I left you? When you were the one who didn't want to go in the first place!"

"I was still trying to decide, okay? What you wanted to do was very dangerous and I was still weighing my options." The black haired girl says while crossing her arms and still giving her senior a disappointed look.

"And now you have the audacity to give me a disappointed look." The senior says. "Great. I wonder who is the senior between us two."

"Senior, what you really did was very disappointing. As the older person between us, you should have shown consideration and patience since I'm still new. But no, you decided to march off and leave your partner alone. How immature of you."

Kwang Soo gawked at the black haired girl as each word came out from the girl's mouth. "Seriously?"

Mi Young had the nerve to shake her head as she regarded Kwang Soo which made the other party more annoyed.

"You know what—you are so—"

"Uhm.. I hate to break it between the two of you but we're in the middle of a crisis here. I was hoping you two can both keep it to yourselves." Hae Choon says while both of his hands were on his hips. Then, he points at the two students, "Maybe you two can finish it later?"

"Who's this shady person?" Kwang Soo asks with a blank look. He eyes the other male from head to toe and says, "Definitely suspicious."

"Is this the friend you were talking about earlier?" Hae Choon questions as he eyes Mi Young and points at the other male student. "Well, he's rude."

"Since when did we become friends?" Kwang Soo asks while looking at Mi Young with a disgusted look.

However, the black haired girl wasn't looking at him but on the other male with the cloak. "No, he's not my friend. Teacher Hwang just told me to follow him because he might get in trouble and might be the cause for our expulsion."

"Lady Ning Gwang would never say that." Kwang Soo says.

"You wish." Mi Young comments.

Then, Hae Choon added. "I bet on my life Ning Gwang doesn't trust students like you to do the task single handedly."

Kwang Soo turned to the newcomer. "Since when did you know our teacher?"

"I knew her before you even knew her name." The man says with a proud look.

There was a series of arguments going on between the two males and Mi Young was getting dizzy hearing them bickering. Somehow it reminded her of Xiao Lu and one of the Kwon twins.

"Speaking of Kwon, we really need to get inside the headquarters now." The black haired girl whispers to herself. She snaps her fingers and tries to catch both the males' attention. "Excuse me, I hate to stop your lovely discussion but we really need to get inside their headquarters now if we're planning on stealing the Mana Shell."

"What's the Mana Shell?" Kwang Soo asks.

No one answered him but Hae Choon started nodding his head while looking at Mi Young. "You're right. We need to weigh down our priorities and focus on this mission first. How do you think we should go?"

"I don't know. But I was hoping you could teleport us inside. Or if you knew a spot where the camera wouldn't reach." Mi Young says while looking around the area.

"Hey, why are you ignoring me?"

"I know teleportation but I can only teleport one person at a time. And for our second option, there's no use 'cause the cameras can see in every angle around the perimeter." Hae Choon says while pointing at the locations of the spy cameras.

"What the hell is wrong with you two? Answer me!"

"Is that so? So can we teleport inside? How far can you teleport the both of us?" Mi Young questions.

"Around one thousand and five hundred meters. If I were to teleport alone I can reach farther than that." Hae Choon says.

"What the hell is—"

"Can you shut up? I'm trying to think here." Mi Young says while glaring at her senior.

Kwang Soo looks downright offended but he holds himself back as he inhales a huge sum of air. And with a deep sigh he questions, "Can you two tell me what's going on first before you proceed to your plan?"

Hae Choon and Mi Young looked at each other before the other male nodded his head towards the black haired girl's direction.

"So, this friend here is the sixth friend of our dear teacher Ning Gwang." Mi Young starts to explain. Kwang Soo's eyes widen in surprise as he takes a look at the other taller male. He was about to ask something but Mi Young beat him to it. "Yes. It's true. Anyway, I have discovered that your theory was right, this city is indeed using some kind of a magic item to keep their city floating and well-protected from intruders."

"Really? How'd you know about it?"

"Mister Hae Choon here was the one who built it. Apparently. He is a Master Blacksmith from his hometown. As for the Mana Shell, that is the name of the device they are using in order to keep their city floating high above the clouds. This device grants the people around it unlimited mana." Mi Young continued to explain.

Kwang Soo's face scrunches up, "How the hell were they able to produce that much mana?"

Mi Young looked at Hae Choon at first to ask if it's okay to tell her senior about it. When she saw the other male nod his head, she continued her explanation. "The unlimited source of mana came from Mister Hae Choon's old friend, an Absolute Mage."

"A-Absolute Mage?" Kwang Soo asks in pure disbelief. "There was an Absolute Mage before?"

"Uhn. However, it was never revealed to the public because it might spark fear to every Mage in the whole kingdom. So her name was never written on any book or scriptures." Hae Choon answers after letting out a deep sad sigh.

"Holy Sages." Kwang Soo whispers, eyes still wide as saucers as he tries to process what he was hearing.

"I know. I was shocked as well." Mi Young says while patting her senior's back. "And now that we're here, I wanted to help him with his mission."

"What is his mission?" Kwang Soo questions.

"To recover his dear friend and steal the Mana Shell from the headquarters." Mi Young says with a triumphant smile. Then, she turns to Kwang Soo, "And now that you have fulfilled your mission which was to make sure that your theory was right, you will have to help us as well."

"Why would I help you? That's a very dangerous job." Kwang Soo says while crossing his arms.

"Isn't infiltrating the headquarters the same?" The black haired girl asks.

"No. I was just going to look for it and confirm my theory. Stealing is another deal!" Kwang Soo says.

Mi Young let out a disappointed hum before she turned her gaze back to Hae Choon. "Then I guess it's just the two of us, Mister Hae Choon. I wonder what chemicals and other cool stuff would I see inside the headquarters."

The black haired girl says while trying to sound enthusiastic and nonchalant at the same time. She casts a side glance at Kwang Soo who has his fist clenched on his side. Mi Young smirks.

"Argh fine. I'm going with you. But if something bad happens I'm out." Kwang Soo says with a stern voice.

The black haired girl claps her hands as she says, "Never knew you were also a curious one, senior."

Kwang Soo just threw her a glare before he turned and focused his gaze on the older male. "How are we going to get inside without getting caught then?"

"Mi Young here suggested about teleporting." Hae Choon says. "However, I can only teleport one person at a time. And before I can teleport again I will have to wait at least thirty minutes to replenish my mana."

"Are you that weak?" Kwang Soo asks.

The man chuckled before he answered the student's question. "No, teleportation is just too hard to do. It will require a huge sum of your mana. I'm a support type of Mage so I have slow regeneration."

"That is indeed burdensome." Kwang Soo whispers. Then he looks at the man again, "You can bring the girl with you. I'll find my way inside, we'll just have to meet somewhere."

"How would you do that?" Mi Young asks with furrowed eyebrows.

"I Have my way. Let's meet at the door near the elevator we used with the Vice Captain earlier." Kwang Soo instructs while looking at the black haired girl with great seriousness.

Mi Young nods her head before standing beside Hae Choon who was already waiting for her.

"Grab my arm." Hae Choon  instructed.. "No matter what happens, do not let go."
