Chapter 155 - “You just met him today?” (1)

There were a lot of visitors on the beach but, even so, Cheng Huan was able to spot the two she was looking for immediately.

XingXing had wanted to play in the sand with the other kids but he wasn’t with any other kids right now but was squatting down across from his father and building the sandcastle on his own.

Granted, it was mostly Jiang MingYuan doing the work and XingXing was only responsible for making the task more challenging for him.

Seeing that the two of them were having so much fun, Cheng Huan decided against interrupting them. She finished the water in her glass and placed an order for a few more iced beverages before she laid back down on the chair and enjoyed being a salted fish.

It was quite windy by the ocean along with some humid air, which made one very sleepy. Cheng Huan had only planned on resting for a little bit but the longer she stayed there, the sleepier she got. Eventually she started to drift off into sleep.

“Excuse me, hi.” A voice next to her brought her out of her sleep. Cheng Huan opened her eyes to look at the person who was talking to her.

It was a man around 25 ~ 26 years old. He has a delicate look that was very popular nowadays and was tall, skinny, and pale. His hair was a little long and looked carefully styled.

Seeing that Cheng Huan had sat up, the man smiled, showing his two symmetrical dimples, and said, “May I ask you for a favor?”

He asked apologetically, “My photographer called in sick the last minute and I am not able to take pictures on my own. May I trouble you for some help?”

“How long will it take?”

The man hesitated for a little bit and reassured her, “It won’t take too much of your time.”

“Oh, alright.” She wasn’t doing anything anyway so Cheng Huan didn’t mind helping him out. She took the camera from the man, tried it out in her hands, and asked, “Where are we going to take pictures at?”

“Over there,” said the man as he pointed toward an area with less visitors.

Cheng Huan nodded and started walking toward that direction. The man quickly followed next to her.

The man’s equipment was very comprehensive. He had cameras, lens, tripods, etc. Cheng Huan had some experience with photography in her previous life and was quite familiar with taking photos. The unknown man was very cooperative as well and it didn’t take long to take a set of photos.

When she was done, Cheng Huan flipped through the pictures. The man walked over to look at them as well. He was standing quite close to her and his cologne was picked up by the sea breeze.

His cologne was an elegant scent, as unaggressive as the man himself. Nevertheless, Cheng Huan wasn’t fond of the scent and she took a step sideway as she handed the camera back to the man. “Here you go. I am going to take off now.”

And she was about to walk back.

The man did not follow her. He thanked her and stayed where he was as he flipped through the pictures. Seeing that, Cheng Huan let out a sigh of relief and told herself that she had overthought it.

Cheng Huan returned to her original spot, took a sip of water and the coolness of the fluid quickly relieved some of the heat and made her feel livelier. She rested for a little bit, picked up the drinks and went to look for the father and son that were not too far away.

Jiang MingYuan and XingXing were still building the sandcastle at the same spot. The outline of the castle had already formed and the man was working on its details.

Holding their drinks in her hand, Cheng Huan stood and watched for a little while and only handed the drink over after he had knocked out a window with his hand. “Have a drink.”

Jiang MingYuan turned and gave her a smile when she saw her standing behind him. He clapped his hands and took the iced beverage from her. He thanked her and started drinking it at a steady pace.
