Chapter 192 - His arms were pale; veins could be seen; he was very masculine. (2)

When he heard that there would be no food, XingXing didn’t want to count his flowers anymore. He bounced up immediately, ran over and hugged Cheng Huan’s thigh. “Mommy, I want lunch!”

Cheng Huan hrumped, ignored him, then walked into the kitchen with the littler tail in tow.

XingXing was genuinely worried that he wouldn’t get lunch and was particularly attentive. He said many sweet words to Cheng Huan and did everything that he was asked.

With all of the hard work that he had put in, he was so emotional that he almost started to cry when he saw the fried rice inside of half a hollowed-out pineapple placed in front of him.

The little kiddo, spoon in hand, picked out a piece of pineapple and placed it into his own mouth. After he had chewed and swallowed it, he sighed and said to Cheng Huan, “Mommy, it’s so difficult to work for one’s lunch.”

“……”

Jiang MingYuan kept to his words. Cheng Huan received a new bunch of roses every morning since that first day.

She still felt a little shy when she received the flowers in person the next day but started getting used to it after a few more times.

There were too many flowers at home and all of the vases were full. Cheng Huan didn’t want them to go to waste so she planned to use these roses to make some rose paste.

She cut the roses off from the step and picked off the petals. She then added granulated sugar to them and combine them until juices from the roses could be seen. She finally placed the mixture into a jar, pressed it tight, and sealed it with a layer of honey on top.

Flower paste needs to sit inside of the refrigerator for a month before they could be eaten. Cheng Huan mad a jar of flower paste today and the weekend had arrived by the time she was done with that.

For someone who didn’t need to go into work everyday and her child was out of school, there was not much difference between weekend and weekday to her. That being said, knowing that Jiang MingYuan would be coming to help them move today, Cheng Huan still got up earlier than usual today.

They had already agreed on their arrangement with the new place. Cheng Huan was still going to live downstairs but XingXing would have a room on both floors. The little kiddo wasn’t too happy with the final decision and fuzzed over it for a while. Finally, Jiang MingYuan talked to him private and XingXing finally accepted the arrangement.

The sun tends to come up later in the winter time. When Cheng Huan got up, the sun had just risen and it finally seemed to have warmed up by the time she was done washing up.

She rinsed some rice and started cooking. After adding some tremella and lily into her pot of porridge, she set the timer and proceeded to making eggrolls.

The stuffing for the eggrolls needed to be stir fried first. Cheng Huan put the ingredients for the stuffing into the pan one by one and the door bell rang when she had finished scooping them up after they were done.

“This early?” She thought that was odd. The flowers from the florists usually didn’t come till 8 or 9 o’clock in the morning. This time it was almost 1~2 hours early.

She put down the spatula, washed her hands, and went to open the door without even removing her apron.

When the door opened, she saw a bunch of rose in front of her so she took the flowers. Instead of being asked to sign a receipt, she heard a melodious and deep male voice, “Good morning.”

She almost shouted out “How come it’s you” but stopped herself just in time. Cheng Huan was dumbfounded right then and there and her face turned red. She covered half of her face with the flowers, lowered her eyes, and said, “How come you are over so early?”

“I woke up earlier than normal today.” Jiang MingYuan gave her a look calmly and, noticing her embarrassing, he cleared his throat and changed the subject voluntarily with his lips curving upward. “Are you making breakfast?”

“Yeah.” When the subject got onto her friend, Cheng Huan felt much more relaxed. She took a whiff at the flowers secretly and felt that the flowers today were particularly pretty. Pursing her lips a little, she placed the flowers upright on the end table, turned around, and said with a feigned relaxed tone, “Did you not have breakfast yet? Want to join us?”

“Sure.” Naturally, Jiang MingYuan would not turn that down. He nodded and pointed at the bedroom. “Is XingXing up yet?”

She thought the man wanted to see his son so she replied casually, “No, not yet. You can go wake him up.”

“No, it’s fine. We will let him wake up on his own.” Jiang MingYuan turned down that suggested and followed Cheng Huan into the kitchen. He asked her what she was making when he saw her placing the stuffing on a very thin layer of wrap.

“Spring rolls. The stuffing is already cooked. Just need to wrap and fry them.”

The task didn’t look too difficult. Jiang MingYuan watched her did one and offered to help.

Cheng Huan thought about it for a second and agreed. The man washed his hands, rolled up his sleeves, and started to help with breakfast.

The stuffing for the eggrolls was placed in a plate and the two of them were standing to one side of the plate. The two were standing fairly close to each other.

Jiang MingYuan’s sleeves were rolled up and the nice curve of his lower arm could be seen. His arms were quite place with his veins visible. He was a walking pheromone.
