Chapter 199 - Someone exclaimed next to them, "MingYuan?" (3)

For the sake of safety, even though the key cards were required for the elevator, the indoor elevator was still located outside of the front door. One would still need the host to be let into the apartment.

This being the first day that she had moved there, the only people that could be knocking on her door would be either Jiang MingYuan or XingXing.

Putting down the milk in her hand, Cheng Huan went to open up the door. The father and son were dressed neatly and, with a closer look, Cheng Huan discovered that they were dressed in father-and-son outfit!

“Look at my clothes, Mommy!” XingXing started talking loudly as soon as he saw Cheng Huan. He tugged at the little monkey on his jacket to show to her. “Isn’t it super pretty?!”

It was a short jacket and sort of puffy. It was black in color except that there was a little monkey on its left chest and arm. The monkey faced up and its foot next to it. Its tail was raised and rested next to its ear, making it looked like it was perched on the person. It looked lively and childlike, very suitable for a child.

But it being suitable for a child did not mean its also suitable for an adult. Looking at the deliberately cute and enlarged version of the monkey on Jiang MingYuan’s jacket, Cheng Huan was speechless.

The man, standing behind XingXing, had a bag in his hand. He had on a jacket that didn’t match his style at all and, through the opening of the jacket, one could still see the indigo tie beneath. His face was stiffened and one could read resentment radiating from his entire body.

Cheng Huan was amused. “Where did you get the clothes from?”

“He bought it,” said Jiang MingYuan as he pointed at XingXing. With a helpless look on him, he walked inside of the apartment and handed the paper bag over to her. “You get one too.”

“I bought this!” XingXing came over, grabbed Cheng Huan by her clothes and pushed her down onto the couch. Pulling out the clothing item from the bag, he placed it on her and said, “Mommy, you put this on too.”

With XingXing on top of her and she was sitting at an odd angle, she wasn’t able to get up immediately.

XingXing was already done looking at the jacket on her. The next step was to take her jacket off. He didn’t know how to gauge his strength and her neck hurt a little from his poking.

“Get off of me. I’ll do it myself.” Controlling herself, she grabbed the clothes and started to chase him away.

“Hurry up, Mommy. Change into your new clothes and we will go get food.” The little kiddo licked his chops with a look of anticipation. “Daddy said we will go for yummy steaks today.”

These clothes looked so stupid and nowhere closed to what she considered as attractive. She looked like she had gained 10 pounds when she put them on. Maybe wearing at home was alright, but she was reluctant to wear them out to dinner.

Standing back up, she tried to reason with XingXing but he didn’t want to listen to her at all but only urged her to hurry up. Cheng Huan turned to look at Jiang MingYuan and the man only offered her a light and helpless smile. He even looked to be anticipating it a little.

Without any backups, Cheng Huan finally left the house wearing this extremely ugly jacket. She had a long face and did not say a word the entire trip there and, finally, when they have arrived at the restaurant, complained to Jiang MingYuan. “Why did you take him cloth-shopping all of a sudden?”

“I had some free time so I thought I though we would go somewhere.” Jiang MingYuan locked the car and turned to look at her. “Didn’t I mention it to you?”

“I know.” Cheng Huan walked behind Jiang MingYuan, hoping that he’d block her from others and grumbled softly. “Don’t let him pick clothes out next time. He has no taste in clothes.”

The man in front held onto his son, chuckled and agreed with her. “Okay. Neither one of us are good at picking clothes out. You can come help us pick them out next time.”

Cheng Huan gave it some thought, “… That works, I guess. Your clothes are too conservative anyway.”

The restaurant that Jiang MingYuan had booked was a high-end Western food restaurant. It was by reservation only; as such, there was no line.

The server probably recognized him from before so he didn’t ask any questions before he took them to their table. It was a spot by the corner with a lot of privacy and nice view. Jiang MingYuan took on the task of ordering for everyone and, which waiting on the food, the three of them chitchatted randomly.

As they were chatting, an exclaim suddenly came from next to them, “MingYuan?”
