And, just like that, XingXing spent the first afternoon at his daddy’s office picking out gifts. Qi Shan had brought over many brochures with the latest products from all the designer brands. The little kiddo was very serious in his picking process and would look over each item multiple times in order to pick out the ones that he liked the most then compared them again. He was finally able to find the one that he liked the best by the end of the work day.

It was a white Classic Flap that was fuzzy on the outside with a large logo made out of various types of gems. It was surely dazzling.

XingXing had his eye on this one immediately and, after looking around, did not see anything that he liked better. He walked over to his father with that brochure. Jiang MingYuan was just finishing up the last of his work. Putting his document aside, he took the brochure from XingXing. His brows lifted a little and he said, “This one?”

“Yes!” XingXing nodded. “I felt that this one was particularly pretty!”

“Alright.” Jiang MingYuan didn’t have a lot of opinion on it. He knew as much about these as his son. If XingXing said it was good, he’d trust him this one time.

He made a call and was told that this design wasn’t available in China and they would need time to have one shipped. It would take about two days’ time. Jiang MingYuan was okay with that. Hanging up the phone, he made a pact with XingXing not to tell Cheng Huan about it just yet.

“Okay!” XingXing lifted his head and had an inexplicable sense of pride. “We won’t tell Mommy.”

XingXing was particularly happy when he went home that day with his shared secret between him and his father. He giggled at his mother as soon as his got home. After giggling for a little while, he’d dash around the house. After dashing around for a little bit, he’d come over and call “Mommy”.

It looked like he would let the secret out any minute.

With his behavior, there was no chance that Cheng Huan wouldn’t be able to tell that something was up. After dinner, Cheng Huan grabbed him when he ran over again and asked him, “What mischievous acts had you committed today?”

“Kekekekeke.” XingXing giggled nonstop before he turned to look at his daddy and said, “I didn’t do anything.”

He might as well have said it out loud that he was keeping a secret. Jiang MingYuan facepalmed. Meeting the dubious look from Cheng Huan, he said nonchalantly, “Perhaps he was just very excited going into the office with me for the first time.”

He pulled out the red pocket from his pocket as he spoke.

The red pocket was already crumbling up and a corner of a card could be seen. Cheng Huan took the red pocket and looked over at Jiang MingYuan. She looked a little worried.

“Don’t worry. It’s fine.” He was pretty sure that his mother wouldn’t have the time to care about his romance recently. He smiled and said casually, “She just wanted to meet XingXing. Don’t worry about anything else. Just take the gift from her and spend all you want. No pressure.

“It was all money that I’ve made anyway.” He added that at the end.

Cheng Huan, “……”

Her look changed slowly. She looked him up and down as though the two of them had just met and said in surprise, “I didn’t know you kid.”

Jiang MingYuan, “… I was telling the truth.”

“Alright.” Cheng Huan shrugged and decided to not worry about it. She wasn’t going to take money from a child so, pulling the card out of the red pocket, she shoved it into XingXing’s pocket and said, “Keep it then. It’s pocket money from your dad.”

XingXing looked down and pulled the card out from his pocket with his little hand. Frowning as he looked at it for a long time, he suddenly looked up at Jiang MingYuan and said, as though being treated unjustly, “You lied, Daddy. This is not money!”
