Chapter 256 - "Are you not feeling well?" (2)

Cheng Huan’s rumors had already been suppressed but Jiang MingYuan still got a lot of work in front of him. Mainly it was his project in City I. He had loss quite a bit from the tsunami and many of the incomplete items needed to be rearranged. Many of the completed ones that were damaged need to arrange for workers out there to have them fixed. That, on top of all the other miscellaneous issues domestically, he would probably be busy for the entire month that followed.

Time flies when one is busy. He didn’t even feel like he had gotten anything done when it was already time to go home.

As Cheng Huan and XingXing were both there with him, Jiang MingYuan wasn’t not going to work overtime. He turned his laptop off when it was time to go.

Cheng Huan had been playing Rubik’s cube with her son the entire afternoon and was finally able to succeed once after she had looked it up Baidu. She didn’t feel particularly accomplished, mostly just headache. She felt very relieved when she saw Jiang MingYuan standing up. She couldn't wait to stand up. “Are we heading out?”

“Hmm.” Looking at the smile on her, all of his fatigue seemed to have disappeared. He put on his suit, walked over, and gave her a peck on her lips. “Were you bored?”

Cheng Huan lied about it, “It wasn’t that bad.”

XingXing told on his mother secretly to his dad. “Daddy, I played Rubik’s cube with Mommy for the entire afternoon.”

The listener to this did not have too much reaction. “Is that so?”

“Mommy played for a long time and still wasn’t able to figure it out.” The little kiddo glanced over at his mother who was giving him a somewhat threatening look and whispered into his father’s ear. “Daddy, is Mommy a little stupid?”

Between his son and his lover, Jiang MingYuan picked his lover without hesitation. He smacked his son on his little butt and said, “Stop with the nonsense.”

“It’s not nonsense!”

“Have you forgotten how long it had taken you to learn how to play the Rubik’s cube?” Jiang MingYuan reminded his son. “Mommy is picking it up much faster than you.”

XingXing was annoyed. He pouted and refused to talk. Of course he did not remember the days when he couldn’t figure out the Rubik’s cube!

Memory was an interesting thing. Sometimes one wouldn’t be able to recall something no matter how hard one tried; other times one would remember all one details that one wish one had already forgotten.

And that was the problem facing the 5-year-old little kiddo Jiang Xingchen. With just one reminder from his father, he was having all the flashbacks from when he failed repeatedly at the Rubik’s cube.

The more he recalled, the longer his face. He did not want to admit that he was the idiot who had forgotten all about it. But he also couldn’t deny the facts. XingXing struggled with it for a long time. He finally decided to face the facts. Turning toward his mother, he apologized awkwardly in a low voice. “I’m sorry, Mommy.”

“Oh?” Cheng Huan had no idea what it was all about.

“Daddy was right. Mommy is much smarter than me.” When the little kiddo talked, he was pouting so much that one could hang an oil dispense from his lips. But he did finish saying what he started. “I should have felt that Mommy is stupid. I am the stupidest one.”

Having said that, little kiddo XingXing started to cry.

Seeing that, Cheng Huan felt both heartache and funny. She didn’t know what sort of an expression she should have on her. She glanced over at Jiang MingYuan and noticed a similar look on him.

XingXing was a strong boy and he had already adjusted himself before his parents figured out how to comfort him. Clenching his little fists and, with a look childish determination, he said, “But I will become smarter and smarter!”

“Alright. Mommy believe in you.”

Jiang MingYuan followed her lead, “And Daddy as well.”
