"Thank you, that is very much appreciated."
Duke Mason said, as he thanked Lady Melissa who was about to ask him her next question.
"Why did you help me?"
"Well, because I wanted to, and two heads always beat one."
Duke Mason said, explaining to Lady Melissa why he had helped her, which wasn't that clear of an answer in the first place.
"Have you made sure a word of this little incident of ours was not spread around the capital? I am not allowed to even touch a man's hand before marriage, however would the public react if they found out I murdered somebody."
Lady Melissa said, hoping that Duke Mason had successfully managed to shut all of the mouths from yesterday.
"Do not worry Lady Melissa, for I have made sure that not a single word of this situation will get leaked at all. My employees are also very loyal, so do not worry, a word of your visit will not be leaked as well."
Duke Mason said, as he narrowed his eyes, looking at his surroundings before he stared at Lady Melissa.
"That is splendid news, and my last question for you is, did you take Baron Kevin's body or anything?"
Lady Melissa asked, curious to know where her childhood friend's body had gone after she had fled from the place yesterday.
"I have asked someone to put him into a casket and bury him in a graveyard, if you want to visit him I can tell you the whereabouts of his grave later."
Duke Mason said, offering to give the whereabouts of Baron Kevin's grave to Lady Melissa later.
"Thank you, I would appreciate it very much if you tell me the whereabouts of his grave later and I am sorry for inconveniencing you to deal with all this trouble, if only I had not fled yesterday you wouldn't be having to deal with any of this."
Lady Melissa said, apologizing to Duke Mason as she lowered her head a bit, letting him know that she was indeed sorry for her actions.
"Do not worry Lady Melissa, I understand your actions, and anyone would have fled, it wasn't just you."
Duke Mason said, telling her that he had understood her actions and why she had done them, comforting her.
"Although I am thankful for your comforting words, please do not pity me. I appreciate your concern though Duke Mason."
Lady Melissa said, as Duke Mason looked up into her eyes, staring at her for a few words before replying.
"I do not pity you Lady Melissa, I think that you are a very brave woman, braver than most of the men as well."
Duke Mason said, as he let out a small smile to her, gazing into her beautiful eyes, chuckling a bit.
"Why thank you Duke Mason, though you must know flattery is not going to get you anywhere with me."
Lady Melissa said, as she took her fan, letting out a small smile while gazing into Duke Mason's eyes.
"Of course not Lady Melissa, now what other matters would you like to discuss with me? If there is anything you want to ask me that you haven't of course."
Duke Mason asked, wondering if Lady Melissa had anything else she wanted to ask him, in case she forgot to do so,
"Need not to fret, I have asked you all the questions that I needed to. Would you care to tell me the location of Baron Kevin's grave right now though?"
Lady Melissa asked, wanting to visit Baron Kevin's grave later or tomorrow, or whenever she was free to.
Duke Mason stood up from the couch, walking to his desk as he rummaged through the pieces of paper before stopping, and taking out a small bit of paper giving it to Lady Melissa.
The small bit of paper contained which graveyard Baron Kevin's ashes were in as well as which specific spot it was in.
"How much did this cost in total? Silencing the people that were there as well as the casket and grave for Baron Kevin?"
Lady Melissa asked, wanting to pay Duke Mason back for the favours that he had done for her.
"I do not accept compensation for my actions that I had done for you, but what I do want is loyalty. Can you promise to give me that Lady Melissa?"
Duke Mason said, as he gazed into her eyes, awaiting for whatever her response would be to his question.
"I will give you that. I will be loyal to you and a great friend as well, thank you for this Duke Mason."
Lady Melissa said, as she looked on the floor.
"That is very much appreciated Lady Melissa, and I shall do the same for you."
Duke Mason said, as he kept gazing into her eyes, not breaking eye contact for even a single second.
Lady Melissa cleared her throat, feeling the tension in her room as she averted her gaze into somewhere else.
"I should probably go right now Duke Mason. It was a pleasure to meet you this morning and thank you."
Lady Melissa said, thanking Duke Mason for his actions that he had done yesterday once more.
"You probably should, it was a pleasure to meet you as well. I shall see you off."
Duke Mason said, before suddenly remembering that Lady Melissa didn't come here with a carriage.
"Or not- I shall call Lason, the man who had accompanied you here earlier to accompany you back home on my behalf."
Duke Mason said as he stood up from the couch, walking to the window that was located near his desk.
"So Lasson is his name? The man did not want to tell me his name earlier."
Lady Melissa said, striking up another conversation to Duke Mason, this time however it was about Lasson.
"How unfortunate of you, though he does not like people very much, and it took me days or even weeks to even catch his name, don't remember which one it was."
Duke Mason said as he let out a little laugh, vividly remembering the time Lasson had finally given his name to the Duke.
