A month had passed since Mia arrived in the Cretan domain.

In the early morning sunlight bathed Gu Ming’s face,

“Another new day.”

Gu Ming stretched lazily,

“Ah!”

Suddenly feeling something move under the blanket, he quickly lifted it and said helplessly,

“Mia, it’s time to get up.”

Lazily opening her eyes to look at Gu Ming,

“Good morning, brother.”

Gu Ming blushed slightly upon seeing her disheveled appearance.

“Good morning, my foot!”

Gu Ming tapped her forehead with his finger.

“Mia, didn’t I tell you not to sneak into my bed at night?”

Mia covered her forehead, pouting a bit defiantly.

“No, I like being with brother. Why can’t I sleep with you at night?”

Gu Ming felt a headache coming on. After spending over a month with Mia, this adorable half-elf girl, he truly came to see her as his own sister.

Over the past month, the self-doubt that once marred Mia’s face had vanished without a trace after some guidance from him; she was also full of vitality every day.

Usually, she listened well to Gu Ming’s words. However, regarding this matter. despite him mentioning it repeatedly. Mia never seemed to listen and always liked sneaking in secretly which filled Gu Ming with guilt.

“Well… Mia,” he began seriously. “I’m a boy and you’re a girl; it’s not right for us to share the same blanket.”

“Why not?” she asked innocently.

“Ah… how should I put this?” Gu Ming thought internally,

“Can I really tell you that one careless move could land me in jail! Really now.”

His tone then became stern,

“It just isn’t right.”

Mia looked up at him with watery eyes as if she was about to cry any second,

“Stop stop stop! Don’t cry please! Alright alright! Fine by me!” he sighed resignedly

With warm sunlight streaming through the barred window and lying next to a beautiful girl. the scene made Gu Ming want nothing more than to compose poetry expressing his feelings:

“Inscription of the Cell: No need for height when rice suffices four times over; no need for large breasts when style brings spirit alive. Here lies midget who trespasses for my sake. Dress adorned with cat ears; small mouth and big eyes; short hair so chic while long hair flows gracefully too. Can be given candy or kisses aplenty without tsundere chaos or elder sister fatigue. School swimming pools and park pavilions abound. Confucius says: why fear execution.”

Just as Gu Ming was internally debating whether to confess or not, Mia by his side had already begun to smile unconsciously, her lips curling up slightly.

Then she wrapped her arms around Gu Ming’s waist and giggled,

“Hehe, big brother is the best, I love big brother the most.”

“Mmm, I love Mia the most too. Alright, hurry up and get dressed. It’s time for breakfast.”

“Mmm.”

Gu Ming quickly put on his clothes and left this place of gossip.

At the dining table,

“Here big brother, eat this one, and this one…”

Gu Ming looked at the mountain of dishes piled in his bowl.

“Stop stop stop, I can do it myself.”

“Oh, okay then.”

Mia stopped her actions with a disappointed look on her face.

Simon watched from aside with an unending smile on his face.

As Gu Ming ate, he seemed to remember something and spoke up,

“Father, have you considered what I mentioned?”

Simon came back to reality with a worried tone,

“My son, must you really go?”

Gu Ming nodded,

“This matter is very important to me.”

Simon said to Charlie beside him,

“Charlie, you take the kids.”

Charlie replied,

“Alright, sir.”

Mia, somewhat puzzled, asked Gu Ming,

“Brother, what are you talking about?”

Gu Ming gently patted her head and said,

“Sister, I need to go out for a bit. You must be good at home, okay?”

Mia’s face fell as she was enjoying Gu Ming’s caress upon hearing this.

“Brother, don’t you want Mia anymore? Mia will be very good and won’t mess up your bed anymore. Please don’t go, okay?”

Simon and Charlie looked as if they had heard some juicy gossip; they both gave Gu Ming a deep look. Simon then coughed and said to Gu Ming,

“Cough cough, son, you’ve really grown up.”

Gu Ming blushed under their gaze.

“Hold on,” he protested. “Let me explain. it’s not what you think!”

Simon nodded as if he understood everything.

With a hand on his forehead and realizing communication was futile at this point, Gu Ming turned back to Mia.

“Brother loves Mia the most; how could I ever not want you?”

Then he took a lollipop out of his backpack for her.

“Mia be good. Brother will only be gone for just over ten days; I’ll be back very soon.”

Mia felt somewhat aggrieved.

“Can’t we not go?”

Gu Ming had a headache.

“This matter is really important to your brother; we must go.”

Mia looked at Gu Ming, her eyes firming up as she was about to speak.

Gu Ming spoke first, interrupting her,

“If you’re thinking about coming along, I absolutely won’t agree. Yes, definitely not.”

Mia pouted and ran off angrily.

“Brother, you dummy!”

“Ah, Mia…”

Gu Ming didn’t chase after her, believing that it was appropriate for children to be independent sometimes.

“Grandpa Charlie, I’ll be ready to leave soon. Could you please prepare the things I need?”

“Of course, young master.”

By 10:30 in the morning, Charlie had prepared the carriage. Gu Ming checked behind him and noticed Mia hadn’t come to see him off; he felt a bit worried.

Simon looked at Gu Ming,

“My son, it’s different from home when you’re out there. take good care of yourself.”

“Father, I will.”

“That’s my boy. Go on then.”

Simon patted Gu Ming on the shoulder.

Gu Ming glanced back one last time before boarding the carriage, noticing no one was around. Just as he was about to sit down, a somewhat tearful cry came from behind him.

“Wait, brother, wait for me!”

Gu Ming turned sharply to see a young girl with reddened eyes running towards him.

Suddenly, Mia tripped unexpectedly and fell to the ground.

Alarmed, Gu Ming quickly got off the carriage to check on Mia.

“Are you okay, Mia? Does it hurt anywhere? Let your brother take a look.”

Mia didn’t respond but instead took off the moonstone necklace she wore and placed it around Gu Ming’s neck.

“Brother, you must come back soon. Don’t forget about Mia.”

Looking at her endearing expression, he embraced her gently.

“I promise you, I will come back to find Mia as soon as I can.”

“Mmm…”

After they parted ways, Gu Ming boarded the carriage and waved goodbye to Mia.

“I’m leaving now. Be good at home.”

Mia waved back in response and said,

“Goodbye brother,”

then whispered silently,

“Mia will always wait for you, my prince charming.”

After Gu Ming had gone far away, Simon comforted her,

“Let’s go back now child,”

But Mia stood still and said nothing.

“I want to see my brother’s figure once more.”

At this moment, Gu Ming was in the carriage, fiddling with the moonstone around his neck.

“Suddenly leaving that little girl feels quite unfamiliar. Huh? Why is this peace-keeping stone transparent… ( ̄(エ) ̄)”

“Never mind, it might just be a custom of another world…”

The symbolism of the moonstone: It represents love and expresses deep affection between individuals. No matter how far apart they are, one can still feel the presence of their other half.

The caravan traveled for four days.

“Young master, we’ve arrived. Auguslen is just ahead.”

Gu Ming stepped out of the carriage and saw the city walls built from stone bricks ahead, some covered with moss. far inferior to Crete.

Arriving at the city gate, Charlie showed Crete’s family crest to the guards who obsequiously opened the gate for him.

“My lord, please.”

Charlie didn’t say much; he simply nodded his head.

As soon as they entered town, Gu Ming instructed a knight to find a slave trader named Ross.

Meanwhile, Gu Ming began wandering around on the streets where he witnessed firsthand this otherworldly feudal cruelty. nobles arbitrarily beating commoners and slaves.

Gu Ming helped several commoners and even caused disputes with local nobles. However, when he revealed his identity as part of an earl’s family lineage they could only

Gu Ming merely smiled on the surface, thinking to himself,

“Kind-hearted? When the original owner was alive, he was one of them. Now, what I’m doing is merely for peace of mind; it has nothing to do with being kind-hearted.”

Gu Ming didn’t dwell on it and soon found himself back at the inn.
