The Villain's Light

The lightless cube is a special spatial treasure. It can definitely save one's life but it has a big drawback

The user's body can enter the cube, it was a treasure that can perfectly keep a living person. It has its own space inside

The problem was that, as its name implies, the cube was completely devoid of light

Being inside it would make people lose their sense of sight. In fact, that wasn't all

The lightless cube would also deprive the person inside all of their senses, not just sight

This treasure can be used to hide since the cube can be manipulated to be as small as a grain of sand but it also has a great risk

To be deprived of all senses, just how awful would that be? Not everyone can endure such an experience

Out of the three, only Khaknur has so much fear for his life. Despite the great drawback of the lightless cube, Rhash still gave it to him

Although Khaknur is practically a slave because of the contract, a willing and unwilling slave are still two completely different things

If Khaknur simply obeyed Rhash, his effectiveness wouldn't be great. On the other hand, if Khaknur genuinely want to help his masters, he would be able to perform better

Hence, Rhash uses the lightless cube as a bribe. It can make the user lose their mind but for Khaknur that is afraid of danger, it was a priceless treasure

"The l-lightless cube?" Khaknur muttered with a strange expression causing Rhash to roll his eyes

"I won't take it from you, I'm just going to borrow it" Rhash said in dissatisfaction. Reif was still crying on his shoulder and he don't have time to deal with this spider's nonsense

Sensing the mood of his master, Khaknur didn't dilly dally and he immediately gave the lightless cube

Its appearance gave justice to its name since it was only a dark cube in appearance

"Reif, I can stay inside the lightless cube and you can take me with you. How does that sound?" Rhash asked gently and Reif uses his misty eyes to look at the cube

"B-but, would big brother be okay?" Reif asked. He naturally know what this thing could do. Because of that, he doesn't want Rhash to enter it

Although it wouldn't take that long, he was still worried about what will happen to his big brother's state of mind

"You know how strong I am. Something like this wouldn't break me" Rhash said confidently although, in the next second, his cheeks reddened a bit

How could he say such a thing when he was literally breaking down just yesterday after he found out how weak he was compared to Nath?

Even then, Rhash don't have a plan of reminding everyone of that fact since it would make Reif even more unwilling

Only with a lot of persuasions did Reif agreed

"Sigh... fine but big brother, come out if you can't take it anymore. Alright?" Reif asked seriously and Rhash nodded his head

"I will" Rhash answered and he received a kiss on the cheek

"Big brother, I will do my best to obtain the Shard of Brilliance. C-can you give me a reward when I succeeded?" Reif asked with his cheeks blushing a crimson red color

This kid... did Rhash polluted his mind too much? From his ambiguous expression, Reif is surely thinking of something naughty as his reward

"Sure. Big brother will fulfill any fantasies that you have but you need to get the shard in return"

Reif vigorously nodded his head at that. This 'reward' gave him motivation!

Reif arrived above the trolls' den. These trolls were still living their normal life not knowing that great danger would soon befall them

At first, the plan was to lower the number of enemies before completely killing all the trolls

However, that plan was on the premise that Reif is as strong as Rhash. But since that is not the case at all, there is no need to do that anymore

While flying above the trolls' den, Reif raised his hand in the air. A crimson ball of energy starts gathering above him

More and more mana was poured into that ball until it turned into a miniature sun. The amount of mana it holds would need a lot of people to have that yet Reif only used his own mana

It can be seen just how different he was from normal people

That crimson sun gave the trolls below a great sense of danger. Even though they don't have much intelligence, these trolls can still sense the movement of mana, especially one as large as that

Their senses were telling them that they are facing a catastrophe and the trolls came out from their homes to look at Reif above them

Before the trolls could even do anything, Reif already started the attack. The crimson ball sent a steady stream of bullet-like energy attack

It literally rained down as it targeted the entirety of the trolls' territory

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Soon, the loud sound of countless explosions rang around. The sound was deafening to the ears and would surely cause the eardrums of normal people to burst

It didn't take that long before the whole territory of the trolls were drenched with a glaring crimson light

The whole territory was engulfed by that explosion sending rubbles and smoke everywhere

It was like someone just detonated a bomb in this area

Once again, Reif proved why he was called the Crimson Magician. If he is present in the area and a crimson light appeared, the enemy should start fearing already

His power was simply made for destroying things. It has the greatest damage of all magic out there

Just this one magic alone created countless craters in the ground. The temperature was so hot - heatwaves appeared along with hot smokes

Who would have thought that such a young man could do something like this?

When the explosion and smoke died down, everything in the explosion's range was already destroyed

Even the trolls that were caught died. Their bodies are not even completely attacked

There was almost no complete corpse that was to be expected. The degree of the explosion was just too great

Aside from one special Troll, the others are now all dead

The surviving troll was precisely the one that has the shard of brilliance. Its body was glowing with a white light that was already starting to heals its body

One must know that the troll is far from being able to use the shard's power. The shard was forcefully used by the troll but because of his low power, not even a percent of the shard's ability was used

If this was Nath, this level of injury would be nothing. He was like an undying cockroach

It was one of the reasons why Reif always failed to kill him. Reif has to use magic that the resulting damage was so severe that even the shard would have a hard time

This troll is completely unlike Nath which wasn't surprising. How could a mere troll be compared to a Son of God?

Even then, just a small fraction of the shard's power alone is already enough to let this troll survive when all of its kin died from the explosion

"W-who are you?! Why are you doing this?!" The troll asked

Since trolls have low intelligence, very few of them can converse with humans. Perhaps because of the shard, this troll was more intelligent compared to its kin and he doesn't understand why Reif massacred his kind

"I must have the shard of brilliance that you have in you" Reif answered. The law of the jungle has been engraved in his mind already

If he needs to kill to get what he wants then so be it. Others would do the same, why can't he?

"The shard...?" At first, the troll was confused but he soon realizes what Reif was talking about and his expression darkened

"I-I don't have what you were talking about!" The troll shouted, he was obviously lying

Just the light surrounding his body alone already means that the shard is in his possession

That light feels almost the same as the one that Nath has, except that it was superior since the Son of God still hasn't reached his peak yet

"I don't have time for your lies" Reif said coldly. He needs to finish this as fast as possible since he was worried for his big brother

As a result, Reif waved his hand. The pieces of ground that cracked due to the earlier explosion starts to float

These earthen pieces became his weapon as he threw them towards the troll that instantly raged

The shard was his. He was the first one to discover it. Just having the shard alone already benefited him a lot

It let him become the strongest troll of this pack. How could the troll easily give it to another person?
