The Villain's Wife

"This person is someone that many governments have tried to recruit for a long time now. However, he was cunning enough to avoid them and no one except your grandmother really knows his true identity." Mr. Neeson continued. "We would like your cooperation. Help us figure out the identity of this person."

"You want my help?"

"As her granddaughter, it is your responsibility to help us."

"I am but am just a weak—"

"I know what you are going to say. And again… we respect that. We would like to keep our distance until you give birth. We would also protect you from your enemies. Then… you and Zhou Jingren will see Antone at the end of the six month period that he had previously agreed to. We will then slowly introduce you to everyone… and everything that will make you understand the purpose of this organization."

Lily nodded as she snorted inwardly. This organization had nothing to do with her. Lily's priority was her family and nothing else. However, it seems that to get out of his predicament, she would need to destroy the organization from the inside.

With all the uncertainties that Lily had about this organization, she should tread carefully from now on. 

"I know that you don't believe me," Mr. Neeson sighed. Of course, he was not here to tell Lily everything about the organization. He was here to plant ideas into Lily's head. Ideas that would make her hate Lilian. Maybe hate was a very strong word. Interest should be a more word.

After his meeting last night, everyone had agreed that it was not the right time to reveal some things to Lily. After all, she was pregnant and on an emotional roller coasted due to it. They would not want her to hate them. What they wanted however, was to make her interested in Lilian's past.

Since Lilian's death, Lily had never actually asked about Lilian's past— or at least not that they were aware of. She had been steady with her growth without looking or wondering how her grandmother got to where she was before she handed her company to Lily. This made them wonder if it was because this was a part of Lily's character or if it was because she just did not care about the past at all.

"But… I am not going to try and convince you to do anything." He added. While everyone agreed not to reveal any information to Lily, Mr. Neeson also had his own goals. He smiled at Lily. He knew that Lily was smart enough to understand the underlying meaning in his words. If she couldn't even understand such simple words, then it meant that she is not the woman that the organization needed!

"I see." Lily nodded. While her expression was blank, on the inside her mind was already solving the puzzle that the old man was giving her. Of course, Lily was well aware that the goal of the old man might be different than what he was saying. If her guess was right, then someone might be recording something inside this room. Perhaps they were watching them. For a few seconds, Lily was alarmed until she spotted that ballpen in Mr. Neeson's pocket. A video recorder?

She was not sure about this item, however, this only made her more and more suspicious.

"Well then… I would not want to waste your time anymore." Mr. Neeson gave a meaningful smile. "I will see you in the future Lily. I hope by then you are ready to open your mind and see the things that you can do to save this world from its people." He started walking towards the door. "Oh… by the way… that boy Claude." He said without turning his back to see Lily's face. "Where is he?"

"How should I know?" Lily asked. 

"Of course. There is no way that you would use your resources to hide a stranger. That would be too foolish of you." The old man said before he continued walking out of the room without sparing them another glance. After the old man left, Lily immediately let out a sigh of relief. 

"Is there a way to check this whole place again? I want to be thorough."

"On it." Zhou Jingren said as he called Qin Yuanfeng who was still downstairs. The two keep their silence until Qin Yuanfeng finished scanning the room, making sure that there was no other device planted inside the room. Then Lily asked the two of them to wait for her outside as she needed to get something.

There were two things that Lily was able to confirm from her conversation today with Mr. Neeson. First, they wanted her to doubt her grandmother. The stories don't match up. And Lily was not stupid to know that this is intentional to bait her into investigating her own grandmother. Second, they were not aware of Madam Luo's secret letter.

Lily quickly followed Madam Luo's direction and used the globe on the table. After a few minutes, she heard a click at the bottom of Madam Luo's table and from there a small vault popped out from the floor just beneath the table. If one would look at it carefully, the vault looked just like one of the wooden tiles in the room. So, without knowing that it was there, it would be very hard for someone to notice it. She then used the pendant to open the vault and quickly keep the letter in her jacket pocket. Then she quickly exited the room and told them that they were going back to the Palace.

"We are leaving tonight?" Qin Yuanfeng frowned. "But…"

"You can ask questions once we leave Luxembourg," Lily said as she thought about the hidden meaning in Mr. Neeson's words. An ominous feeling rose inside Lily as they started to make their way inside the room. "Yuanfeng… can you check the cameras of this place." She uttered. As she grabbed one luggage and just put all of her important things on it.

"What am I looking for?"

"Aside from your computer, do you have anything else that you value inside your room?"

Qin Yuanfeng immediately shook his head at Lily's question. "What is going on? Why are—" He looked at the screen of his computer. "What am I looking for?"

"Duke's office. While we were at the mansion." Zhou Jingren said. "Include Leandro's office and the Duchess." He too had a very bad premonition about this.
