The Way of The Dao

Ling Tian was still sitting in the cultivation position. The three of them were under the shade of a tree.

Soon, both Tang Jingtian and Mu Shen sat down as well.

"Brother Tian! Are you really as powerful as my father said? Stronger than the Lord of the City?" Tang Jingtian asked in a thrilling, trembling voice as he remembered what his father had mentioned.

Ling Tian nodded in recognition. There was no point in denying it anyway. All he could do was delay the time even further.

"Brother Tian, but your martial arts power had been lost, had it not?" Mu Shen asked when he remembered what Ling Tian had told him about his powers when he had awakened.

"Mmm, not long ago my power returned, although only a little... my strength has not returned completely." Ling Tian breathed a sigh as he thought of all that lay ahead.

Mu Shen rejoiced, "Really, Brother Tian? That's great!" He was happy for Ling Tian.

"So... had you really reached the legendary divine rank?" Tang Jingtian asked what he wanted to know about Ling Tian.

"Divine rank?" Mu Shen asked Tang Jingtian, since he didn't know the whole story of what happened to the Lord of the City. Only the most important people in the star city knew that.

Tang Jingtian began to explain to Mu Shen exactly what his father had told him.

Mu Shen's jaw remained open as if it was about to fall open at any moment in shock and disbelief at hearing of Ling Tian's alleged actions.

Ling Tian smiled bitterly as he heard about his own 'divine' actions from the mouth of Tang Jingtian. It seemed that they had exaggerated it a little...

Shortly after he finished, Mu Shen turned to see Ling Tian, wanting to know if he was really the legendary person he had described. However, his face showed admiration, fear, amazement, awe, disbelief, surprise...

Ling Tian smiled when he said, "Haha, they may have exaggerated a little... but it was really me who saved Long Cheng, that was his name, wasn't it?"

Mu Shen and Tang Jingtian were slightly stunned to hear Ling Tian call out the name of the city lord directly, but then they realized that, he was beyond the strength of the city lord himself, so he would certainly not put himself on the same level.

"Brother Tian, you really are amazing." Tang Jingtian sighed as he could not believe all this was true. Mu Shen agreed with him.

Ling Tian laughed at what Tang Jingtian said.

Suddenly, Tang Jingtian took his fist to his chest.

"I, Tang Jingtian, swear that I will become a blood brother to Ling Tian. I will be his friend, his support, his brother, his true brother forever. I will support him as my real blood brother when he needs it. May I be struck by lightning and destroy my soul if I break my promises."

Ling Tian raised an eyebrow as he heard Tang Jingtian speak suddenly about this oath.

It was not long before Mu Shen's voice was heard as well.

"I, Mu Shen, swear that I will become a blood brother to Ling Tian. I will be his friend, his support, his brother, his true brother forever. I will support him as my real blood brother when he needs it. May I be struck by lightning and destroy my soul if I break my promises."

Mu Shen had also brought his fist to his chest, in token of his heart's oath.

Ling Tian was slightly dazed by this act of both of them, what had gone into their heads to do this?

"You two... why did you do this? You know that there are oaths that are real and you will have to fulfill them completely if you do not want to die..." Ling Tian asked with perplexity on his face. Wouldn't it be too much if they just did it out of gratitude?

Tang Jingtian and Mu Shen smiled.

"Brother Tian, you have given both of us a new light in our lives, both Brother Shen and I.

We know that this oath is completely real, that's why we decided to do this.

You may think that perhaps it was just a simple gratitude, but what you have done for us is much more...

We want to follow you on your way.

If you want us to go east, we'll never go west.

We won't frown if you force us to do something dangerous.

You really are our sworn brother, so we will value this brotherhood completely, Ling Tian."

Mu Shen also nodded in agreement with what Tang Jingtian said.

Ling Tian was somewhat shocked by this sequence of events, sworn brothers?

Ling Tian suddenly remembered his two friends from the immortal world who had also become sworn siblings, all three of them.

How are they doing?

After a long time, Ling Tian also promised in response. These two were not like that bastard who betrayed him, his instincts did not alert him...

Tang Jingtian and Mu Shen were happy to have a new sworn brother, they already have a brotherhood...

"Brother Tian, is it true that you can control a sword from a distance and fly over it?!" Tang Jingtian asked excitedly when he learned that Ling Tian could fly through the skies.

Mu Shen turned to see Ling Tian, hoping that he would confirm what he had heard.

"Hmm." Ling Tian nodded with a lost expression of not knowing whether to laugh or cry: "When you reach a certain level of strength, one could do many things, like fly through the skies."

Ling Tian didn't explain much, as that required talking about cultivation.

Tang Jingtian and Mu Shen were ecstatic to learn that people could really fly through the skies.

How strong is Brother Tian really, to the point that he can fly on his sword?

Both boys were shocked by the astonishment of Ling Tian's power.

"Brother Tian, didn't you use a sword to fly? But since I found you in the plains, I never saw any sword near you..." Mu Shen remembered that he had not seen any sword Ling Tian had handled since he had been caring for him.

Ling Tian smiled ambiguously: "Secret." If he had to tell them about his sword, he'd have to talk about his space ring.

Mu Shen understood that there was something Ling Tian did not want to talk about or explain, so he understood and asked no further questions.

Tang Jingtian also hoped to see Ling Tian's sword and ask him to fly. He wanted to see it with his own eyes. Tang Jingtian did not know if the sword was the one that allowed one to fly as well, so he wanted to ask Ling Tian.  But looking at the expression and the answer he gave Mu Shen, he also understood that Ling Tian did not want to talk about it.

Ling Tian saw their frustrations and then said, "Maybe later I'll explain a lot to them, but not now..."

Both nodded to what Ling Tian said.

"Hey, did you hear the rumor about the Goddess Long Yuyin that has been circulating in every star city since yesterday?"

Tang Jingtian remembered something and decided to change the subject.
