The Witcher: Elemental Lords

#33 - Baal the Hellhound

The darkest place in the world isn't the complex underworld, the so-called assassin guilds, or the gangs, but the police station. Harley knew this better than anyone.

His heart had turned cold.

Walking out of the door, Fieri whispered, "Brother Ha, this matter?"

Brother Ha sighed and said as he walked, "There's no way. They're denying it now, and we can't find anyone. What else can we do?"

Fieri lowered his head and didn't speak anymore, but he mourned for Dole in his heart. Dole was very hardworking and learned things very quickly. He was already the darling of the blacksmith shop. Who would have thought that he would suddenly disappear like this? Alas!

Returning to the blacksmith shop, Brother Ha didn't say a word and went straight to the back.

The other blacksmiths surrounded Fieri, all asking about it.

Fieri shook his head, "The person is gone."

...

Gentle wind, crisp birdsong, rustling leaves. When Dole regained consciousness, this was the scene he experienced.

He moved slightly, and a tearing pain immediately spread throughout his body, rushing to his brain. The back of his head went numb, and he instantly lost consciousness again, falling into a coma.

This was already the third time he had woken up, only to fall back into a coma.

It wasn't until dark that Dole opened his eyes, barely managing to stay conscious.

His first instinct was to check where he was. He found that this was no longer a prison cell, but outside, and not even in the city. There was no wind in the city, and there were no trees around.

He couldn't stand up, or even turn over. Twisting his neck was also excruciating.

He could only open his eyes and look at what was in front of him. It was a leaf, blocking the black sky, with a few stars occasionally visible.

It was a bit cold on the mountain. The wind blew, causing a dry pain all over his body.

It was night now.

How did he get here? Who brought him out? Dole suddenly felt a chill in his heart. Could it be that they beat him and then brought him out to silence him?

Thinking of this, his heart was filled with despair. At the same time, a sense of resentment rose inexplicably. It was hatred, it was indignation. At this moment, he hated Odo to the core, hated the police station, and wished he could destroy them all.

Just then, he heard a rustling sound coming from a distance, as if something was approaching.

He turned his head with difficulty. In the darkness, he only saw a pair of green eyes.

His pupils suddenly shrank. What was this? Was it a wolf, or what?

A chill ran down his spine.

Watching the other party approach little by little, Dole struggled to twist his body. Waves of intense pain rushed to his brain, but he was about to die, and might be eaten by this thing. He didn't care about the pain anymore.

Dog Odo saw Dole's struggle. He didn't transform into human form and felt it was a bit funny. He quickly came to Dole's side.

Dole also saw Dog Odo at this time. A man and a dog looked at each other.

What was going on? Was he seeing things? How was this his own dog?

Dole was very familiar with Dog Odo's aura from petting him every day.

Was this still his dog?

Just then, his eyes suddenly widened, his heart raced, and a chill ran through his body.

"Dole, you're awake."

Damn, the dog was talking.

Dole's eyes rolled back, and he fainted again.

Dog Odo was a little speechless. This guy's psychological quality was really poor.

He spat out a mouthful of five-colored light, and Dole woke up again.

A man and a dog looked at each other again.

Dog Odo sat in front of Dole and sighed, "Don't be surprised. I am Dog Odo, but from now on you can call me Baal, Hellhound Baal."

Dole blinked his eyes, his head buzzing. How could a dog talk? What kind of dog was this? What kind of monster had he encountered?

However, he had read The Legend of Narye, which had many other talking creatures on it. Although he was a little shocked, he had calmed down at this moment.

He opened his mouth, wanting to speak, but found that he couldn't say anything.

He felt uncomfortable all over.

Dog Odo sighed, spat a mouthful of five-colored light on him, and then turned to leave.

Dole felt extremely uncomfortable all over, but his whole body was in pain, and he couldn't even move.

Soon, Dog Odo returned with a bag on his back. By the starlight, Dole saw that this bag was the one he had bought at the pharmacy. It contained his luggage from the small broken house. It seemed that it was wise to buy so many other herbs at the time, as they would be used so soon.

His mouth twitched, but then he was a little dumbfounded again.

Because Dog Odo actually began to change, turning into a burly middle-aged man with a rigid and upright face, a square face, and a pair of bright eyes full of strange and eerie light. He was two meters tall, his muscles knotted all over, bulging high, full of endless power.

Dole's mouth formed an O shape, pulling on the wound on his face. It hurt!

Dog Odo, also known as Baal, threw the two people's things aside, took out all the herbs, including some herbs that Dole didn't recognize, made them into a paste, and applied them to Dole's body. He felt that he didn't hurt at all, and a cool aura was on his skin, feeling very comfortable.

He didn't hurt anymore, and Dole relaxed. He quickly fell asleep again.

He didn't know how long had passed, but when he opened his eyes again, it was already dawn. He struggled a bit and found that he could get up, but his body was still very sore.

Slowly getting up, Dole didn't find Dog Odo. He looked around and found that this was a mountain top, and he was on the mountain peak, surrounded by tall trees, very lush.

Where was this?

Dole endured the pain and looked down at his body.

His clothes were tattered, and his whole body was covered in blood scabs. Any slight movement would affect the injuries. Those medicines were stuck to his skin and had already dried up.

He didn't care about those things, but tried hard to stand up.

He failed.

His legs hurt so much that he didn't dare to bend them, and his knees were covered in blood.

He sighed, and his stomach began to rumble.

Just then, a voice came from a distance. Baal's dog form came from afar, carrying a bloody creature in his mouth. It looked like a fiery red beast, as big as a large dog. It should be very heavy, but Dog Odo carried it in his mouth as if it weighed nothing.

Dole had never been out of the city and had never studied, so he naturally didn't recognize this thing.

Baal carried the thing in front of him, placed it on the ground, and a deep voice sounded, "Eat this raw for the next few days. Don't go back until your injuries are healed. Now that you're injured, don't practice martial arts. Just practice meditation. Meditation is very effective when you're injured."

Dole glanced at the bloody unknown beast, then looked at Dog Odo. He swallowed hard, and a hoarse voice sounded, "Baal? What kind of creature are you?"

Baal's dog face rarely showed a smile and said, "Hellhound, a seventh-level creature from the Demon World."

Dole's eyes widened, and he was shocked, "Seventh level? Then how did I pick you up? If you're seventh level, you could destroy this city with one slap."

Baal lowered his head slightly, and a helpless expression appeared in his eyes, "I had a fight with another powerful being, the Hydra, and we were both seriously injured. I was close to running out of energy. I used all my means to escape from the Demon World and ran to this godforsaken place. If I hadn't met you, if you hadn't had a ridiculous vegetable dumpling and water in your hand, I probably wouldn't be here."

Dole was dumbfounded.

"Don't look at me like that. Seventh-level creatures can also die. You saved me, and I owe you a life. Saving you is the right thing to do."
