The Witcher: Son of the Planes

Chapter 62 Academy Mission Five

Colin and his four companions walked into the road on the right and soon found clues.

Unlike the other two roads, which were obvious mine tunnels with nothing special, the road on the right actually found traces of moss.

This was obvious and unusual. Colin and his companions did not believe that the previous batch of wizard apprentices did not find the situation here.

The three of them hesitated, not knowing whether to continue or give up the task.

Billy also felt a little uneasy, after all, the three wizards had stopped.

Although he was a slave, as long as he worked hard to mine, it was not a problem to have enough food. In a few years, he wanted to find another female slave to have a child. After all, only by living can he have other things.

Looking at the unknown darkness ahead, Billy trembled a little.

Colin and his three companions had no time to pay attention to Billy's emotions, and were still discussing whether to continue.

"I think we should continue for a while. No matter why the wizard apprentices in front did not complete the task, Mayor Resta still saw those apprentices, which means that even if there is danger, it is not fatal." Conrad analyzed.

Colin looked at Connie and her brother. The three of them should be top-notch among low-level wizard apprentices. After all, he also worked part-time as a mid-level knight attendant. If the task was too difficult, it would not be issued to low-level wizard apprentices. At least it had to be above the mid-level.

Soon, the three made a decision to continue moving forward. If they really encountered any danger, they would consider giving up the task.

"Let's go." Colin told Billy.

It turned out that Billy didn't move for a long time.

Colin patted Billy.

"Ah... Sir." Billy was obviously a little scared.

"Let's go, Billy." Colin didn't promise Billy anything. After all, slaves are used for consumption.

After coming to the other world for a few years, Colin's mentality has long been different from his previous life. Slaves are no longer considered human beings.

Billy looked at the three wizard masters and knew that he had no choice. He couldn't run away. Even if he ran out of the mine, he would die. If these three masters found the problem, maybe he could still make a contribution.

Let's go.

Billy held the torch and continued to move forward.

The alley on the right was not like the previous two, which had ups and downs. This road basically went down all the way. The further you went, the more moss there was on the road.

Suddenly, dark red bloodstains were found on the side wall.

"Wait a minute." Colin stopped Billy.

Colin touched the bloodstains on the wall with his hand and smelled it. It should be human bloodstains.

"It seems that we have found the right way." Colin said.

"Be careful. If something goes wrong, be ready to evacuate at any time." Conrad said.

"Let's go."

The speed of the four people began to slow down. Colin and the other two were ready to take action at any time.

The further they went, the wider the alley in front of them was. After walking for a few kilometers, the four people found that there was light in front of them. Colin instantly extinguished the torch in Billy's hand.

...

"Brauer, why do you think Chief Tarim is so irritable recently? Are his women having an affair or something? Several cavemen have been beaten." Nash asked.

"I don't know. We have enough food recently, and nothing seems to have happened. I don't know why Chief Tarim is crazy." After saying that, he looked around and saw that there was no one around, and Brower said carefully.

"Do you think it's about the bodies of the people from the ground world that they dragged back a few days ago?" Nash continued.

"Hey, it's really possible. Those people were all involved in that incident." Brower said.

"Hey, you don't say it, it might really be that incident. It's a pity that I haven't tasted what humans on the ground are like." Nash said.

"Don't think about it. I think Chief Tarim may not want to provoke people on the ground."

...

After looking at the two cavemen for a while, they didn't seem to have much strength from the appearance. Colin and the other two felt that they could easily kill them. The three had not yet learned the witchcraft of knowing the language, and did not hear what the two cavemen said.

Colin waved his hand and retreated a distance with Connie and Billy.

After stopping, the three discussed whether to continue.

Obviously, if they go further down, they should be able to find out the whereabouts of the missing slaves, but if they go back now, it is also possible. I think it should be the underground creatures that have captured the slaves.

The three of them were a little hesitant. From the information they observed, the cave dwellers did not have any powerful military force. If they encountered danger, retreating would not be a problem. If they went back like this, even if they could report, they would probably not get 100 merit points.

After discussion, the three decided to continue, but this time they kept Billy and told him to go back to the intersection first. If the three did not come back after a few hours, he would complete the task and could return to the ground.

Billy kowtowed a few times happily and ran away.

Although they did not release the light spell, it did not affect the progress of the three.

The three were low-level wizard apprentices, their mental power was much higher than that of ordinary people, and their vision in the dark was much better than that of ordinary people.

Soon, Colin and the other two returned to where they had just stopped.

Seeing the two cave dwellers still talking on both sides of the alley not far away, the three of them exchanged glances, and Colin and Conrad rushed out, and Connie also began to cast fireballs.

Nash and Brower were chatting, and suddenly saw a flash of fire coming. Before they could do anything, they saw two black shadows rushing over, and they were controlled before they could resist.

"What bad luck! These are people on the ground." Nash thought.

"Don't eat me, I'm not tasty. Eat Nash." Brower begged for mercy.

"I\u0026" Nash was speechless.

Colin and the other two didn't understand what the two cave dwellers said, but judging from their expressions, they were probably begging for mercy.

After some strenuous gestures, Nash and the other two estimated that the humans on the ground wanted them to lead the way.

The two had their mouths blocked, their hands trapped, and their weapons (wooden guns) thrown on the ground at random. They were pressed forward by Colin and Conrad.

The alley was not dark, and glowing fungi could be seen everywhere. The road ahead was still downhill, but there was already a rudimentary shape of steps, so it was easier to walk.

After walking for more than ten kilometers, the three came out of the alley. Below was a very wide plain. Because of the light, it was unclear where the specific boundary was. There seemed to be many busy figures in the distance, probably some cave dwellers.

Looking back, there was an upward cave entrance behind.

The three of them became more alert. This was obviously another "world" with a large number of other species.

Nash and Brauer returned to the underground world and relaxed a little. After all, they had a much greater chance of survival in their own territory. They just didn't know whether the three surface humans would continue to move forward. The two of them were heading towards the gathering place of the tribe.

Colin and the other two saw this huge underground scene and felt that there was no problem with the mission, so they planned to retreat.

"Are those human friends from the surface ahead?" A voice came from a distance.
