The witch's rebirth

"Would you like a drink?" asked Knight,

I nodded at how considerate he was being. Now was not the time I like to mingle. My mind on the list of bids I place. There were items that could assist me in building my foundation.

"Don't wonder, love" he ordered,

While he went to get us some refreshment and talk shop. I made a play for the most expensive item in the room. On the paper, there were many names that I recognize but one name strike me like lightning. The number behind the name sent chill down my spine. I blink not sure if I saw it right. It was a lot of money even for me and if I'm not mistaken it was more than a year's worth of her salary.

"Dear Ronnie, isn't as clean as she looks?" I mumbled to myself very disturbed.

This was unexpected.

"It comes from higher than that I think, someone over her head." Kight appear and answers but made no effort to keep the satisfaction from his voice, "I also have updates. Something I wasn't aware of before today, the pressing relationship between Jenny and Sonia, they were lovers for a time, and it didn't end well. The police know and they are going to close the case once they get enough evidence."

"Will they?" I asked confused,

"Yes, I'm not involved. There are more important things to do," He said smirking, "I'll go for the pipe piper, spells like this don't happen by themselves, nor do they kill people not involved."

"You are the most important, for me." He said gruffly, "Do not go into this without me, by your side. I will respect the law but do not put yourself at risk."

I couldn't help but laugh he said the most uncertain things and made them sound like they were set in stone. It was a rare talent and something I would miss once we parted way.

"Time is of relevance. We should go find them," he said pointing his watch. "It may be too late for today but we will try. Did you bid on anything while I was away? Any mirrors, I've heard you like those. How about that large one over there?"

"No not that,"

"No?"

"I'm not taking the mirror but I saw a box that seems to be locked. It's my favorite kind with bright white aura. No one else seems interested so I'll get it." I told him.

"When did you have time?" he whispered, immediately unhappy.

"You went to get us drink," I whispered happily.

It wasn't every day you stumbled on an artifact from the House of Dragos? made by the master himself for a dragon and his mate. It was never used and I only had record books to go by but I had high hopes for this if I could get it.
