The witch's rebirth

The piece is more powerful than I thought. Knight had not look at any else I took out but kept going back to the ruby necklace.

"I don't care, it's the piece."

"No," I said stubbornly, I wasn't selling the thing.

"Be reasonable, please."

"No, there are more than a thousand pieces here, that piece is not up for sale yet."

"Gene, Think about it would you darling?" He purred out huskily, "The others are lovely but this one, in particular, is magnificent. Finex would pay an arm and leg for it. Atlantis script is her favorite style. The color matches her eyes perfectly. There is no other piece."

That explains a lot. Atlantis was not a supernatural city. It was a place for science. However, it's focus was more on steam and crystal. David was from there and so was Finex. Now, everything made sense. I glanced at Knight then look over at the item. If it was truly what he said it is it's valuable but not that useful for me. It should be okay to let it go but I never take things at face value.

"I don't know,"

"Let's think about this together. I really think we can come to an acceptable agreement. Even you should make some compromised."

Those words made me paused and confused. The truth of the matter was I didn't want to go against my principle for things that could boomerang back and harm me. However, I question the wisdom of not selling it because it was against my policy. I do know that if I don't sell I will face the wrath of Finex and Alpha Knight.

More importantly, if I did sell it, this would bring me goodwill and a lot of cash. I'd also be very happy as I didn't like the piece, it gave me strange vibes.

"I really don't know, this might bring me harm. It's powerful." I said flatly forgetting all of my diplomatic training; it would seem Knight brought out the worst in me. "I don't deal if it's trouble."

"Why would I do something like that to you, love?" he asked his voice purring

"Because you can?" I snap back.

"I would never hurt you if I had a choice, love. It's just an enhancing device. Not very powerful but unique, it only works on one person at a time and only when if it is worn by the rightful owners. The thing is the ruby was in Finex family and her mother sold it when she was a little girl." He said painting a picture he must know I had a soft spot for childhood sob story.
