The Wolf of Los Angeles

Chapter 17: Money is in the account

Chapter 17 Money is in the account

The Great Salt Lake Cinema, in the back seat, Robert waited for a few minutes.

The assistant rushed over and handed him the form in his hand: "Boss, recycled 65 valid scores, with an average score of three and a half stars."

Robert looked at it and said directly, "Go and notify Catherine, prepare to discuss copyright. You tell her that I only have 10 minutes."

The assistant goes to Katherine and Eric.

A few minutes later, the two sides borrowed the theater's office to start copyright negotiations for "SAR Highland".

The distribution company is located at the absolute upstream of the entire film industry chain. Katherine and Eric have no bargaining qualifications and soon agreed to transfer the entire copyright of "SAR Highland" to Castle Stone Film for $350,000.

...

Main Street, next to street lights.

Hawke received a call from Katherine.

Brand stood in front of the pizza shop window and watched Hawke walk around and touch the wound at the corner of his mouth, feeling particularly complicated.

In just a few days, he suffered more impacts in making money than in the past twenty years.

Is this a high-end business war? It's completely different from what I imagined and what I said in the textbook.

Brand sighed inwardly: "Hawk's style is really simple and unpretentious."

Larson came from behind, looked at Hawke outside the window, and asked, "Have you learned it?"

Brand endured the pain in the corner of his mouth: "I feel like I'm going to waste my studies." He said again: "It's hard to make money quickly."

Larson sighed deeply: "Except for the tax bureau and capitalists, it is not easy for anyone to pay from someone else's pocket."

The ringtone of the cell phone rang, Brand answered, said a few words to Hawk, then hung up and said to Larson, "I'll go out with Hawk."

Larson patted him on the shoulder: "The film festival is just beginning, follow him to study hard, and the troupe will rely on you in the future."

Brand followed Hawke to the hotel and entered Eric's suite.

Katherine took the newly signed copyright contract and handed it to Hawke: "The copyright transfer fee of "SAR Heights" is $350,000."

"Congratulations." Hawke took it and looked through it quickly.

Catherine took out the prepared check without saying a word: "This is $5,000 after payment."

Hawke took a closer look and put it away.

Katherine said: "The copyright transfer fee has not arrived yet. I was going to pay it to you after Castle Stone Film transfer."

She thought of Eric's description and thought it would be better to settle it as soon as possible, selling her favor: "George Hansen's business is done well, and I decided to pay the share in advance."

Hawke said, "You pay, I should do things."

Catherine took out the checkbook, filled it out, and said, "Two percent, $7,000."

Hawke received the check and stood up and said, "Our contract is completed."

Katherine shook hands with him: "I hope there is still a chance to cooperate."

The financial owner was cheerful, and Hawke was not vague: "You have my phone number."

After leaving the door, Eric kept sending Hawke to the elevator.

While waiting for the elevator, he said, "There is a bar next to the hotel. The atmosphere is very good. Come out to have a drink at night?"

Hawke was busy for a few days and needed to relax and rest: "Okay, see you at 7pm."

Eric laughed: "I'll wait for you in advance."

The elevator came up at this time, and Hawke shook hands with Eric and went downstairs with Brand.

The two of them went to a coffee shop nearby.

Brand was a little excited when he guessed what would happen next, and didn't care about the pain in the corner of his mouth and asked, "How much did we earn in total?" Hawke explained one by one: "After signing the contract, I got $5,000; that day In the evening, Catherine gave us another $5,000; today's news video sold $1,000; just got another $5,000 and $7,000 upstairs."

Brand thought silently in his heart and said, "The total income is $23,000."

Hawke nodded and said, "In terms of expenditure, the party costs $1,000, and the audience fee plus the money spent on loudspeakers and other equipment, a little more than $1,000, even $1,000."

Brand added: "There are also lawyer fees, the cost of treating guests, the cost of copying materials, the money for Damian and Lewis, which add up to about $1,000."

"We have $3,000 left, and we have $20,000 left," Hawke said.

"We made 20,000 dollars in four days? It's crazy!" Money prompted Brand to change a little, and he spoke much more calmly than before: "We agreed, I'll account for 20% of them, $4,000."

Hawke understood the temptation of money and said directly: "After drinking coffee, go to the bank to transfer money."

"Okay." Brand picked up the coffee, put it beside his mouth but didn't drink it, obviously thinking about things.

People's desire for money drives his change.

Brand finally took a big sip of coffee and asked tentatively, "Will we do similar business later?"

Hawke could somewhat feel Brand’s change and said, “The film festival has more than a week left. I plan to find new crews, such as this kind of commercial promotion method, and also find customers.”

No mistakes, one song, one content, one in 6, one book, one bar, one reading!

"Next time, I want..." Brand originally wanted to say 40%, but he was unsure of it and said, "I want 35%!"

Hawke said, "At most, 30%.

Brand nodded, "Okay, only 30%.

Hawke knew very well that when he did it a few more times, Brand would have to 50%.

Money and people's hearts are always changing.

After drinking coffee, the two went to the bank.

Hawke returned to the Alpine Pizza Store, settled the party fee, and politely declined the bearded invitation to drink and returned to his residence to rest.

He jumped up and down these days and went out in the early morning, so he was also tired.

After waking up after sleeping, Hawke found Brand sitting in a daze in front of the living room fireplace, and asked deliberately, "Are you thinking about giving me what gift to the girl you like?"

"Yes." Brand asked seriously: "Tiffany, Hermes, Chanel... which brand is the most suitable?"

Hawke poured two glasses of water, handed one to Brand, sat diagonally opposite him, and said, "No one is suitable."

Brand was surprised: "Why?"

Hawke sincerely advises: "Make money with peace of mind, and wait until you have enough money, you will have any kind of woman."

Brand also believes in love: "Then I have to wait until I have money. If I meet a girl I like, I will definitely regret it in the future if I don't chase her."

"Good luck," Hawke said, "He changed the topic: "Is there a gym, a fighting range and a shooting range in Park City, three-in-one is the best."

Brand shook his head: "There are gyms, fighting and shooting ranges, and the most common ones here are ski resorts."

He thought about it and said, "This kind of multi-functional and integrated club can only be found in Salt Lake City."

Hawke wrote it down and after finishing his work in Park City, you can search on the Internet.

He has been losing weight recently and his weight has almost disappeared due to his continuous busyness and exercise, but his body is far from being in his best condition.

Hawke took the handheld camera and studied it carefully. Its function was pretty good and the night vision shot was clearer.

Brand was tired and sat sleepy by the fireplace.

When it got dark, Hawke woke him up and asked, "Go out to drink, do you want to go together?"

Brand remembered Eric had an appointment with Hawk and waved his hand at him, "No beauty, don't go. I want to have a sleep and come back to bring me some late-night snack."

Hawke responded and walked to the bar.
