The World of Masks
Part 1
Bang, bang! Bang!
The sound of the ground shaking echoes through the hallway. Just as a dinosaur had lived a long time before man was born, one man was forcefully running through the hallway. A helmet that covers the entire face with a large body and a solid armor around the body. Together with their weights, the sound of a bomb explodes when you take a normal step. It's time to run like hell.
The person who walks with the voices of his feet as if he had the power to tear this building down was wearing a mask that was unique to him, so he could not see his face. But it's not a good impression to see a lot of anger. Something seemed to be furious.
Kuang!
The figure opens the door as he comes. No, I think it was right to say that what you were trying to destroy was a failure. A hinge that barely slips away cries out in pain.
"Boss!!"
The heavy voice shook the room. It was a resounding voice that matched that size. Ordinary people would not even make eye contact because their looks and voices would scare them, but they were never ordinary people who came to meet Guehan. The reply came as a testament to that, but there was no place to calm down.
"What the hell."
I heard a quiet, bold but profound voice, so I could never underestimate it. I stopped at nothing to break in. No matter how excited the boss sounds, Gigi is dead. Gyehan looked at the man in front of him, trying to calm his excitement.
There was a man sitting there. Sitting quietly between desks, he was still holding a pen and writing something down in the document. On a wooden desk that looked expensive even though it was outdoors, there was a pile of paperwork processed by the man and documents to process. The man stared at the living man without stopping his hand. I was wearing a strange mask that reminded me of a skeleton. I couldn't see his face, but I felt like I knew what the man was feeling right now. The man was bothering. It set fire again to the fury of the masses.
"I heard you turned me down again! It's true!"
"Yes, I did. Is that why you're here?"
Tsk, tsk. Collect the processed documents and slam them into the mouths of your desk several times before stacking them next to a pile of processed documents. Then he pulls out the other documents and starts making fun of the handwriting again. The excitement of his attitude that his opinions were not flattering rose.
"What's stopping me from going north!"
Tsk. The man's jaw stops. And a long sigh. I look up at him shaking my head as if I had no choice.
"Hey, Creed."
Surprisingly, a familiar name came out of the man's mouth. The man who barged into the room, hurting Jack and Callie so much, ended up in a miserable end in Jack's hands. Creed was surprisingly still active in the game, assuming his fortune hadn't been transferred to Jack or Callie.
"It's obvious why you're going north. Isn't that right?"
There was only one reason why Creed would bite into the bubble and insist on going north strongly.
Revenge!
"You know that and you're against it!"
"I know. I'm against it. It's not worth it."
"What a mess! I hit two and Vik might be dead!!"
Creed and Vik's resurrection site are the same. It was a holy neutral city not too far from the city where the organization was based. Of course, as the Holy Neutral City has significant significance to players as well as to the NPC of the game, the organization put the city in power in the first place. Even in power, the organization is not fully managed. There are few players and they are not capable of doing so. Simply hired NPCs to gain information and gain an advantage over other players. However, that level of influence was enough for the player.
I don't see Vik when Creed is resurrected. Even the NPCs that were scattered around the Holy Neutral City had not seen Big. I don't have access to the game Ever since I found out, anxiety has started spreading in Creed. And after a day, two days, and a month, I didn't see Vik. It was never possible for Vik to live in a masked world like he was running out of time. In the end, Creed had to admit it. Vik, his colleague, either died or quit the masked world. No matter how much he bothered himself, he was still a colleague. I couldn't stay still.
But the boss was cold.
"Yes, Vik would have died or quit the game. If you're a colleague, you can avenge yourself. But how will you find them?"
"If you keep digging around like this, you'll find something!"
The boss sighs lightly.
"Hey, hey. That paranoid, cryptic way of eating is not your way, it's Vik's. Think about why I paired him up with you, the opposite of Vik, who is calm and cool and good at analyzing situations."
"Hehe!"
Since it was Creed who used to sigh at Vik's last supper, the current point is painful.
"So we're just gonna sit here?"
"What are you going to do? There's no guarantee they'll still be there. Of course it makes sense to think we moved the place. You said you were on the move when you raided. It's a no-go."
"Hey, why are you so calm? He's got a gun!"
The eyes in the mask twitch. The conversation just now was not a pleasant story as well as a boss. The weapon he created was passed on to those who could not hear it. But I couldn't allow it.
"Yeah, I lost my gun. And they found out about the apartment."
Creed winces noticeably at you. It was Creed's biggest Achilles' heel after that.
"I don't care if the building is discovered. I don't think they're coming. Even if you attack, the entire organization is in the building right now, so it's not a threat, and if you succeed now, you'll move to a better place."
Creed sighs of relief. I thought I'd forgive him for not saying anything else, but I feel more comfortable listening to him directly like this. Fortunately, the boss doesn't think much of his mistakes.
"And you're mistaken, Creed. I didn't forgive them. Once we get a location, we'll plunder it, retrieve the guns, and take revenge. It's not whether or not you do it, it's whether or not you can do it. Plus, it hurts to be robbed of firearms, but that doesn't mean it's fatal. In the beginning, I never imagined that I would be the only one playing this game who thought I'd build a firearm. Plus, there's only a handful of firearms left. When they run out of ammo, they're just iron clubs."
"They could be copying!"
"How? Metallurgy in this game is medieval. By comparison, the firearms I restored in this game are at least similar to those used in the early 20th century in reality. With the technology of this world, copy is never possible. If it were that easy to copy weapons, the old heat streams wouldn't have been able to build colonies that easily. If you want to make a copy, you can at least draw in real-world knowledge like me and inject it into the NPC, which would have been possible if the weapon hadn't been taken away."
The boss goes back through the paperwork.
"And what we're planning now is imminent. You know that, right?"
"That's · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · ·."
Creed is speechless. What the boss is trying to do now is almost kill the organization. That's why we've been waiting inside the tissue without sending back members of the organization to supply ammunition. All that paperwork was done because of that. There was so much to prepare for. The boss speaks softly to Creed, who snorts.
"Soon we will be ahead of other players. You know how much money this will cost if we succeed. If we succeed, a great fortune will roll in, and then we can live our lives squatting in reality. You don't have to hunt without danger, and you don't have to work hard. You can have a favor for the rest of your life. If we go to the Holy Neutral City, we can save lives, right? It's very easy to become strong with money."
"But · · · · · · · · · · · ·."
The boss wedges at Creed, who still has a negative reaction.
"I'm not saying don't keep looking. Our organization is, after all, protective unless it's necessary. You know that. Just bear with me this time.If this is over, I'll let you do whatever you want. Vengeance is important to your colleagues, but other members of your organization who are looking forward to this work are also your colleagues. Don't let your colleagues' expectations go to waste, Creed."
"Hnng."
You can't just insist on your own argument when the boss is like this. In the end, Creed decides to take a step back. The boss seems to be right, and even if he thinks about it, the plan ahead of the organization is very important.
"Fine. But as soon as this is over, I'll head north."
"Then do as you please."
Creed, confirmed by the boss, turns and leaves the room. But they didn't even realize that Jack and Callie were staying where they were.
Artwork Reviews
A lot of people feel anxious that things are getting faster these days.
There's not much else to it.
I'm only halfway to the end of the story, and I'm just uploading it because I'm too slow to finish it for the rest of my life.
