The World of Masks
Part 1
The cave continued. Like the natural caves, the bottom of this cave was rugged. The villagers often stumble and fall. Blood flows from place to place, but people never stop walking. It's instinct to know. If they can't walk, the devil will rob them of their lives without hesitation. But fortunately, as I went into the cave to some degree, I found a surprisingly flat space. From then on, the villagers were able to move properly.
Jack looks around the walls, ceilings, and floor of the cave.
'The cave has changed.'
The cave where the rocks protruded and there was no place to protrude and became dull. It was much flatter than before, although it could not be compared to a building wall made of smoothly polished modern concrete. Jack walks to the wall. I stubbed around the wall with my hands and observed in detail. I felt the artificial color clearly.
'Is that correct?'
It's the same as the old Demon King's Dungeon. It seemed to be used here as a way to expand the natural cave and build a dungeon. As Callie notices, she grabs Jack's sleeve and shakes it lightly.
"My lord, I think the human touch is crazy from here." "
"Yes. I think I found it."
I can't believe someone other than the Demon King pierced this cave in the middle of the desert. As long as this rock mountain is clearly marked on the map, you'd better consider it the Demon King's Dungeon from here on out.
It wasn't just the surface of the cave that changed. Since when did the cave start to bend slightly? It seemed that the passageway was supposed to go down in a big spiral. There is limited space on the rocky mountain, so this is the right way to get down. If you were going to punch through a cubicle, you'd have to make the road look very steep, like a cliff.
The way down was very long. After all the hard work that I've been climbing, the rock mountain is just a passageway, and there seems to be no dungeon in the mountain. It is a dark, humid, continuous cave with the same structure, so we don't know exactly how far they have come, but it seems that all the rocky parts have already come down.
By the time Jack realized that, the shape of the cave had changed again. The shallow slope was going on, but instead of spiraling down like now, it was switched to a straight line. It seems as if it has moved beyond the rocky mountains and collapsed underground, just as it had expected.
Jack sees Callie walking next to him for a moment. I can't see my face well from the mask, but I feel tired. I thought I'd put up with it just in case it was too much for Jack. I turned my eyes back. The villagers who brought it were exhausted. Some felt nothing strange when their faces turned yellow and left for the Great Beyond. I only recruited young and healthy people like this, but I don't think the vigilante was this strong. The only elderly guide was drooling through his stubble.
"Take a break."
The villagers hesitate, fearful of Jack's words. It's a hard, stone floor that runs through the unknown insects, but it doesn't budge. Callie is reluctant to sit down. I just took out a chair that I had stored on my bracelet and sat down, unlike them.
It was worth it. Seems to me like I've been walking all day. This arrangement of inexhaustible Jack and hard-working Callie who wouldn't complain to Jack, who couldn't say a word to rest from the horrors of death, made this enforcer possible. Outside, Callie moved to the kiln, and the villagers dragged her unilaterally to the cart, so she didn't need to rest, but that wasn't possible in the cave either. Eventually, Jack decided to sleep here and move on.
I fed him water and food, roughly laid him out and threw him a swamp to cover him up. The villagers wrapped around one or two crocodiles and fell into a sweet sleep, liberated from a hard day. Even though I could not sleep well because of the situation, my physical blood was strong enough to ignore it all. Tell the skeletons to keep an eye on them, and then Jack and Callie log out for a moment. Fatigue had no reason to worry in the masked world, but eating was important. As long as I didn't know what was going to happen in the future, I had to take moisture and nutrition every time I got this chance.
After finishing roughly preparing, the group leaves as soon as they feel that some time has passed. The villagers' faces were still engraved with deep colors of fatigue, but I didn't care. They just need to be able to walk so they don't die.
About an hour or so. Another change began to occur in the cave. Geometric symbols and creepy paintings began to appear on the wall. They were similar to the ones I saw in the Demon King's Dungeon. Illustrations that literally slaughter humans and unrecognizable characters. Seeing the paintings, the villagers scream in horror. Some were filled with fear. But Jack felt a great joy. This was definitely the Demon King's dungeon.
"Master, this is."
"I've seen something like it in the dungeons before. Looks like you found it."
Callie approaches the wall. I took something out of the bracelet and put it in my eyes. Jack glares back at Callie as she watches. If the geometric symbols on the wall make sense of something, the translation glasses will tell us what it means. Callie's ints are very high right now. Perhaps there was more to know about the Demon King. Jack stands behind Callie with curious eyes.
"Can you read it?"
Callie shakes her head as she stares at the wall.
"I think it's just some kind of magic spell. At least it doesn't look like a letter."
"· · · · · · · Yes."
I was disappointed for a moment, but I turned away without doing anything else. You grip your fingers and let the group go. Soon after walking, the human trap detector, which was dragged by a skeleton branch, screams. What's going on? Jack and Callie go forward cautiously. The villager is hesitant to sit down. Jack looks at where he's pointing with his fingers, shaking less. You're used to it. There are skeletons embedded on the wall, like soldiers guarding the road. This was also seen in the former Demon King's dungeon. The people following Jack and Callie scream at each other to see if they saw the skeletons. But I couldn't move much because of the tight skeleton. I was just trembling on one side.
Like in the old dungeon, the skeleton was undisturbed. I approached and patted the skull with my hand. Still no movement.
"Callie, what do you know about this guy? There were the same guys in the old dungeons."
Callie examines the skull to make sure it's curious. Callie who has mastered dark magic will have much more to learn than Jack himself. But again, Callie shakes her head at this.
"The magic I've learned has nothing to know."
Then I lowered my head. It seemed like the grass died because it didn't help Jack. Jack shrugs lightly and walks back down the road.
about two hours on foot, guided by geometric patterns, creepy pictures and immovable skeletons. Suddenly, the surrounding area opened up and a huge cavity appeared. Inside the joint, Jack finally sees what he wants.
"The altar."
You mutter in a heavy voice. There was a pyramid altar that looked exactly like the one you saw in the old dungeon. The staircase extends upward as if it were leading foolish humans to heaven. On the side of the stairs is a vivid Demon King crest.
"Fantastic."
The first time Callie saw the altar, she looked at the altar with curious eyes, as if she were looking at a magnificent ruin. After leaving everything else, the altar was strong enough to overwhelm people of that size.
Jack pulls the flint out of the bracelet. You light the torch on the wall. It's been a while since I played the game, so now I can use flintstones skillfully. Jack, who lights all the torches around him, once again looks up at the altar.
"Let's go up."
Without hesitation, Jack steps off. Callie followed behind. I knew there was no danger from here, so I left the villagers below with some skeletons. Jack makes his way up the stairs. Shortly after, Callie breathes heavily and picks her up like she did when she climbed up to Samantha's old godson. I wish I had brought a kiln, but now it's being left under a rock. Only Callie was carried back and forth by Jack, overwhelmed by guilt and joy.
Jack, who jumped three flights of stairs at once with enormous stamina, was only a few steps from the top of the altar. There were familiar things there. They were the followers of the fallen Demon King, who were a clear sorcerer with a small altar and blood. I wasn't impressed because I had seen it before. No, it's so much like the old dungeon that it's kind of steamed. I thought it would be different because it had another special mark among the Demon King's dungeons, but it was no different from the old one. Callie is wandering around the dungeon curiously, but Jack is deeply disappointed. I sighed a little. But why would I go empty-handed when I was robbing the Demon King's followers of the dead? These guys also came up with some unusual life beads and grimoires. The roughly packed jack calls Callie.
"I don't think there's much here. I'm disappointed in him."
"Is that so?"
As Jack's disappointment has spread, Callie shrugs. Jack grins and scratches Callie's head.
"Let's go there, since we have one more place to look."
Jack takes Callie down to the altar. The old dungeon was known only to itself, so it destroyed things like magic, but it didn't have to be destroyed because it was known only to itself and to its own servant, Callie. The villagers? They were things to deal with later anyway.
Jack thought it was a secret room he'd stumbled across before. The room hidden deep within the altar was more likely to be here as well. Jack leads the villagers and skeletons back to the other side of the altar. I went through the place where there would have been an entrance with my hands. Callie asked a few questions about Jack's actions, but only to see if the owner had something in mind. After a long time stroking the wall of the altar.
Blub-ub.
"Bingo!"
The entrance to the Chamber of Secrets is revealed. With the villagers and the skeletons alone, Jack enters the entrance with a light step, just like Callie. As I walked through the familiar shaped passageway, a large space emerged. It was the same as the old room. A carpet with the mark of the Demon King embroidered on the ground, the crystal in the middle. At the end of the room will be a magnificent throne and an altar that rises to the height of the breasts. Jack stops as he walks relentlessly. Callie, who was chasing him through the diagonal, immediately took a stick and took a precaution.
Jack and Callie have arrived. There was a magnificent throne as expected from Jack. But there was one other decisive thing.
There was something sitting on the throne.
A cowardly full body armor that doesn't even glow on the surface by cutting only darkness from the night sky. A dark cloak made of shadows. The iron gloves were all sharp and pointy as if they were the nails of a demon, and the tips of the boots had nowhere to be bruised as if they were sharp blades. But the most powerful was the helm. The top of the helmet, which covers the entire face, has a sharp horn like an evil crown. A great sword is embedded in the side of the throne. It was a black dagger that seemed unacceptable to even the faint existence of light in the air. The black armor on the throne sits on the handle of the great sword and stares at the strangers who appear before you by chance.
The Demon King.
It was a word that momentarily crossed Jack and Callie's mind.
