The World of Masks
Part 1
As Politon and Galik tease each other and soften the mood, you hear a clumsy voice that made the atmosphere on the table a little while ago.
"Ready for a trap?"
Miles looked at people's conversations quietly, saying. Galik chuckles like Polliten and gives you an unexpected headache. The gauntlet and helmet are frictioned and the iron rings again.
"Oops! That's what it was. By the way, his head. So, Leader, what are you going to do about it?"
"Don't worry about it. They have the skills to navigate and unlock traps since then."
"Reliability?"
Miles shrugs and says to Politon, "It's no big deal."
I want to say, "Excellent, at least. It's not the first time I've seen a dungeon like this."
Then, the last time I saw him, I remembered Politon trembling when he told me about the traps on the earth, that he had found them with his life. Was there a dungeon expedition in the background of that life? Miles shuts up again, somewhat satisfied with Politon's answer. I felt like a really boring person. With a brief glimpse of Miles, Jack looks around and asks questions. Jack suddenly remembers something about the trap.
"So how do you deal with conditions like poison, paralysis, and curses?"
In a way, they were more dangerous and annoying than powerful monsters. You never know when or where you'll come out and cut off a person's life force in agony. Don't do it. People's reactions were somewhat different from Jack's.
The silence settled on the table. Jack was embarrassed for a moment. The silence sitting on the table said, 'I didn't think of that.' is not a reaction, 'I didn't think to ask. It was a reaction.
"Huh · · · · · · · ·. I forgot Mr. Walton was a novice."
It was Galik who broke the silence.
"In the Holy Neutral City Central Temple, there are antidotes and anti-curse drugs, too. Anything can be healed. It's expensive, but it's better than throwing your life away. Even if it doesn't heal, at least it's a delay to death. Then fly swiftly into the temple using the wings of the transition. The Temple heals all wounds and condition conditions."
"Mr. Walton. Do you have any Potions?"
Politon asked Jack with a 'no way' emotion. Luckily, Jack shakes his head.
"Ah! There are potions."
I used to buy a few bottles when I left the holy neutral city. Potions lie silently inside Jack's bracelet, as if they had never been used, along with a vast body of sheep that had lost all their vitality.
"That's a relief. If Mr. Walton is in any condition, I'll take care of the medical supplies. Let's deduct that from Mr. Walton's fee. Will you accept that, Mr. Walton?"
"I can't help it."
I didn't want to risk my life just to save a few bucks. Even if he was in that situation, he was willing to nod even if he traded the healing supplies for the beads of life he had.
"But based on your reactions, are those essential items?"
When Jack asked people, they felt embarrassed when they saw people who didn't even know common sense.
"It's a game that's supposed to be worth dying for, so those things are almost treated as essentials. Players originally from the north are the ones who can enter the inner sanctuary of the Holy Neutral City, which is almost a base."
Politon adds to Galik's explanation.
"There's also a problem with this game system. Renal NPCs hardly ever leave their strongholds. Plus, there's not a lot of party play between players who don't trust each other, so party play is a lifelike healer role that players don't touch. Fortunately, this game is not very professional, and there's no limit to the skills that you can learn. So people who need it learn to heal or support themselves. However, healing skill books are more expensive than other skill books. You need health to increase your skills there. That means giving up your level to increase your skills. I'm busy leveling up and raising other attack skills, but I can't afford to raise skills that don't match my character's features. So when you get to a certain level and you have access to the Holy Neutral City center, you cover it with items. dealing with minor injuries and condition conditions with the healing skills that were put in place at the beginner's level. Those who can't afford to buy a healing skill book have none."
"So you're saying you're not worried about any injuries."
"At least I am. I don't know about the others."
"Ahh. I'm a pass. Is that part of the magic family? Like I said, I'm annoyed with chanting, so I haven't learned any magic."
"I wasn't fully trained in electroencephaloenchantment. Flame magic or some other minor enchantment was learned as a pre-investment in collecting skill book values before buying an electroencephalogram skill book, but the healing skills were mostly poured out at a distance, making it unnecessary."
Galik and Samantha denied it very coolly. So far, Politon has explained how to improve his healing skills as a beginner, and it seems to be a very cool act for him. Fortunately, Miles was learning his healing skills for the same reason he was sitting quietly and listening to them, so at least he was able to live with himself.
"Mr. Walton, if you can spare some money, you'd better learn some healing skills and some healing skills."
And I'm like, "What the hell are you doing learning that? It's better to drink with that money." Politon advised Jack, ignoring Galik's meddling efforts. Jack also listened to Galik with one ear as he continued to 'healing skills dancer' and nodded to Politon.
In a way, the conversation was about giving Jack the basics he needed. As I had many valuable conversations, the information I obtained was piled up in a corner of my brain.
The group has all the information they need, and is about to get up. I had to get into the dungeon as soon as possible and take the treasures there.
"By the way, We need to make sure before we leave."
The people who got up and broke their butts stopped moving. Galik chants his light-looking voice completely and speaks in a low voice.
"Like I said before, it's nice to talk to players like this. But what's good is good, and let's just get on with it."
"Is there a problem?"
"No, it's not a problem."
Galik denies it, striking his hand as if it weren't.
"You made a deal with me for jewelry, right?"
"Yes."
"I would have signed the same contract as everyone else."
"That's right."
"How can I confirm that?"
Obviously he signed with the gem of the contract, and other people also signed with it, but we cannot be sure unless we have seen it with our own eyes. Unfortunately, the world of this mask was a game that could get ripped to shreds for neglecting such confirmation.
I felt nervous for a moment. Politon didn't react much to Galik, who was staring at him heavily as if he absolutely had to hear the answer. And three people looking at them from all around. This bizarre altercation has, surprisingly, been broken to pieces.
"What, that's it?"
I expected something great, but I came back with a rushed reaction that seemed like nothing really mattered. Galik also sits comfortably on the chair, his hips out as if he had anticipated Politon's reaction.
"Well, I'm in a bit of a hurry."
"I was about to go out and talk to the gate. Honestly, we're getting a lot of attention?"
This was a typical restaurant. It was still daytime, so the shop was empty, but there were still some customers and owners. A group of fully armed masked travelers gathered and spread their rare magic, keeping an eye on the group of chefs for excitement. Politon purposely kept his distance from the crowd, so he couldn't hear the conversation, but he was reluctant to stay in the limelight.
"I don't want to be a zoo monkey anymore, so let's just get out of town and talk. where, of course, NPCs are looking. Safety should be encouraged, right?"
"Well, good."
Galik braces himself and raises himself. When he woke up, it was like a mountain was rising. The chair that had been holding his weight until now made a 'squeaking' noise as if he had only lived. Jack takes a step back as he looks behind him.
"As expected, everyone else was thinking about confirming the contract."
I thought they were as thorough as they have been in this game for a long time. Samantha confirmed Jack's thoughts.
"Of course. The people who were here in the first place are the people who are working in the north of the game. It's only been about half a year since the beginning of the world of masks, so the level of the players themselves is not very high, but they're pretty good at it. Most of all, the experience of working on this cursed land in the north is certainly powerful. I'm surprised, in fact, that you, as a beginner, are thinking like us."
"Haha. I'm confident I'll be able to turn my head like this."
Jack's life was a constant struggle with his own desires and a reclusion to hide himself from the world. No one will ever know their true nature. One way or another, to doubt everything in the world. I can only see things. When people hide their nature, observe others, and get stuck, sometimes they doubt that others are doubting themselves as well as themselves. Then the more Jack's acting, the deeper Jack's mask of good behavior was in proportion to it. Jack's own suspicion of others was like life itself.
"But there is no way to solve the crisis now."
"Just a jewel of the contract, I suppose."
"I see."
In Samantha's next answer, Jack takes a deep breath and leaves the store with a squirming door open. You see Politon and Galik waiting for the group to come out from over there. Jack is holding the door for a moment so Samantha and Miles can easily get out of the store behind him. Through the door that Jack opened, the two of them lowered their heads slightly. There seemed to be no one there. That was a relief. Jack leaves the store door and walks to Samantha's side when they're both out.
"I'd like to stop using the jewellery of the contract."
"It's going to be the same for everyone. But if you take a very small contract range, nothing is more convenient than that. The most dangerous thing in this game is the player. Plus..."
Samantha looks at Jack walking next to her. With a height difference of almost 20 cm or more, I had to look up at Jack Jira Samantha. He looks down and sees Samantha's eyes glowing in the mask. His eyes looked very beautiful and determined.
"You won't be able to accumulate that much wealth without risking that much."
Jack nods his head. Although he wanted to kill people, he connected because of a slightly crooked desire, but others would mostly access because of the income from the masked world.
'In that sense, the income in the masked world is not very good. "
willing to take that risk.
