Chapter 12, The Protagonist’s Entrance

Don’t panic.

Mu En, don’t panic.

Now is not the time to panic.

Even though she was being stared at by hundreds of eyes in a shameful outfit, she still had the guise of a beautiful girl.

They still didn’t know they were Mu En Campbell.

Just like how covering one’s face with a pair of panties makes it easier to do some twisted things.

As long as the beautiful girl’s disguise isn’t exposed, I am invincible!

“Ah, beautiful lady, we’re here to save you!”

But just as Mu En forced herself to comfort in this way, a commotion erupted again downstairs.

Aside from a certain protagonist who had forcefully stormed into the dormitory building, many other students (male) were attacking the muscular brothers blocking their way as if they had been struck by a sudden surge of adrenaline.

Some students who had already fled returned, sneaking around the edges, casting spells while stealing glances at Mu En, their expressions shy as if they were deliberately trying to show off in front of the girls during their awkward teenage years.

At that moment, from the darkness surrounding the dormitory, elite student council members in striking red uniforms entered silently!

Unlike the chaotic ordinary students, they were clearly more trained, forming different teams to support each other, directly penetrating the chaotic battlefield like nails into pre-identified weak defensive spots.

The girl with the bun stood on a makeshift platform, holding a magical megaphone, her rare seriousness commanding attention.

“Students below the third year, retreat to the outskirts! I’ll say it again, retreat to the outskirts! This is not the time for you to show off; give the upperclassmen space to attack!”

“Students majoring in martial arts, quickly take the front! Don’t be afraid; behind you are hundreds of healing mages and believers ready to support you!”

“Attack mages, head to the opposite dormitory building, occupy high ground for safe output!”

“Student Council Team Three, the west gate of the dormitory has been cleared; hurry in from there!”

“The president has spoken; they are just bugs! Don’t be afraid, everyone! United as one, we will definitely rescue the hostages!”

The arrival of the student council and the words of the girl with the bun undoubtedly injected a shot of adrenaline into many students still caught in chaos.

Although the invasion of the academy was unheard of for them, this was St. Maria Academy, where every class was about becoming stronger.

So when they rallied and organized a coordinated attack, how could those muscular brothers possibly withstand it? They could only retreat under the onslaught like a storm.

“How wonderful! At this rate, they’ll soon break through and rescue me,” Mu En couldn’t help but shed tears of emotion at the scene.

To save the beautiful princess, the brave ones finally united and embarked on the journey to defeat the demon king.

But when they defeated countless monsters, overcame numerous obstacles, and even truly defeated the demon king, arriving before the beautiful princess, yearning for her reward…

The princess would lift her skirt and pull out something even bigger than what the heroes had…

— The heroes would probably tie the princess and the demon king together and burn them both.

Mu En’s thoughts raced.

She knew that if she continued to sit idly by, waiting for the main force to arrive, she would definitely not be able to escape.

By then, under the gazes of countless hopeful eyes… once her potion’s effect wore off…

She would absolutely die!

On both physiological and social levels!

Run!

She had to escape in advance.

But…

Mu En glanced at the High Priest who had been standing beside her.

At the very least, there had to be someone to draw this guy’s attention.

“Take this, Heavenly Fire Great Sword!”

“Beautiful lady, I’m coming in hot!”

At that moment, like a long-awaited rain after a drought, a heavenly voice rang out.

The door leading to the rooftop was blown open by a terrifying sword aura infused with flames and raging winds. The muscular men guarding it hadn’t even reacted before they were sent flying by the howling shockwave.

Against the backdrop of fire and storm, our destined true protagonist, Ariel Bugalde, made a dazzling entrance, wielding a sword larger than herself.

With a toothpick—who knows where she got it—from her mouth, she looked at Mu En and instantly smirked, revealing her signature rebellious smile.

“Did you wait long, beautiful?”

Ariel tossed her bangs and flashed a cheeky grin.

“I’m not late, am I?”

“Damn.”

Mu En’s mouth twitched, unable to suppress a shiver.

Recalling her earlier relief, it didn’t seem like this was a good thing, no matter how timely her arrival was.

What was with her nonchalant demeanor as if she was out to win Mu En’s heart?

Was Ariel in the original book like this, flirting with anyone she met?

“A…Ariel, hurry up and move forward, they’re catching up!”

Behind Ariel, a breathless Lia had no time to rest and anxiously pushed Ariel, for behind them, a dozen enraged muscular men were charging with bloodshot eyes.

“Tsk, strange, didn’t I knock them all out?”

“Completely useless, they seem to have been corrupted by the evil god, and can no longer be understood in a normal way.”

“In that case, let’s capture the leader first!”

Ariel spat out the toothpick, brandishing her great sword, and charged directly at the High Priest, who was clearly different from the other muscular men.

“Oh?”

The High Priest, gazing at the night, finally turned his head, revealing a mocking smile:

“Do I look that easy to capture?”

“Anyone can act tough; you only know how impressive they are after you’ve fought them.”

Ariel retorted fiercely.

Fighting spirit surged.

Sword light flickered.

The terrifying magic intertwined, forming a blade of flame without any incantation.

The blade swelled against the wind, like a massive scar tearing through the night.

Ariel leaped high, light as a swallow.

But when she descended, she came crashing down like a mountain, accompanied by the thunder of the heavens!

“Whoa, this is interesting.”

The High Priest’s expression remained cold; he reached out, and a gleaming, cold blade appeared in his hand.

He gripped the blade tightly, lacking the flamboyant display of Ariel, but as he stepped forward, the entire dormitory building seemed to tremble.

The blade rose from below, meeting Ariel’s fiery edge.

—Clang!

After a brief moment of silence, a thunderous roar erupted.

A scorching wave of air surged forth, as if a small sun had briefly risen in the night sky.

Many students still engaged in fierce battles instinctively paused, turning their gazes toward this direction.

Mu En, feeling the terrifying aftershocks of their clash up close, found himself momentarily breathless.

Ariel is already this strong?

You’re telling me she’s a second-year?

No, no, now is not the time to think about this.

This is a heaven-sent opportunity!

In the instant the High Priest and Ariel were locked in a stalemate, Mu En quickly rolled on the ground, reaching for what he had been eyeing all along…

That toothpick.

The toothpick twirled skillfully between his fingers, and after a few breaths, accompanied by the sound of cold shackles clattering to the ground, Mu En couldn’t help but feel a surge of joy.

“Alright!”

Lockpicking lv8, impressive.

Now he could finally break free, the sky high for birds to fly, the sea vast for fish to swim…

Huh?

Strange.

Even though he had come down from the railing, why did he still feel the surrounding gazes… so scorching?

Mu En stiffly raised his head.

And then he saw.

Those dozen or so muscle-bound brothers, who had lost their target because Ariel was fighting the High Priest and Lia had vanished somewhere, were all staring at him with serious expressions.
