Chapter 16, One Cannot Fall in the Same Place Twice

After circling the room and finding no clothes left outside, Mu En’s gaze finally landed on a wardrobe that seemed to have fallen to the ground due to being bumped into earlier.

“It’s not theft, it’s not theft, I’m only taking one piece of clothing, and I’ll compensate double, oh no, ten times afterward.”

Muttering this to himself to reassure that he wasn’t doing anything wrong, Mu En reached out his hand, preparing to pull open the wardrobe.

“Hm? Why can’t I pull it?”

Mu En looked at the wardrobe in front of him, revealing a hint of confusion.

Then his gaze followed the gap in the wardrobe door downward, and he was instantly shocked.

“Whoa, so many locks?”

Due to the dim light in the room, he hadn’t noticed earlier; now that his eyes had adapted to the dark environment, Mu En discovered…

That the shabby wardrobe in front of him had at least a dozen locks hanging on it!

“What the heck, is there a stash of gold bars stolen from a bank inside?”

Mu En straightened up, suddenly feeling a bit troubled.

If it was locked up like this, it meant there was something very important inside; he couldn’t just pry the locks open, could he?

Although prying these locks open wouldn’t be difficult for him.

“Forget it, let’s think of another way; wrapping it in a blanket wouldn’t be too bad for showing it to others.”

Just as Mu En was about to grab a sheet from the bed to make do, his peripheral vision caught a glimpse of the side of the wardrobe.

There seemed to be a crack from the earlier impact, and a corner of a dark piece of clothing was exposed from the gap.

“Is it really just a wardrobe?”

No matter how many locks it had, it was just an ordinary wooden wardrobe.

It was something that could be smashed open with a single punch; what kind of protective function could it possibly serve?

If there were truly cherished items inside, why not get a safe?

“But…”

Mu En rubbed his hands together, feeling a bit fortunate.

“You fell out on your own, don’t blame me.”

After saying that, he reached out to grab the corner of the clothing, yanking it suddenly…

And then the smile that had just begun to form on his lips froze instantly.

“This is… underwear?”

Mu En looked at the familiar-looking men’s underwear in his hand, and his expression immediately turned to one of disdain.

While a beautiful woman’s panties might excite someone, a man’s thing was just a bit…

Fortunately, perhaps having pulled too hard, when the underwear came out, it also dragged along other clothes in the wardrobe, revealing a dark corner once again.

So Mu En casually tossed the underwear in his hand aside and grabbed that corner to pull again—

Another pair of underwear?

What terrible luck?

“I don’t believe it!”

Mu En’s temper flared, and without caring about anything else, he directly reached into the crack of the wardrobe.

……

A few minutes later……

Mu En looked at the small mountain of men’s underwear piled up in front of him, sinking into a deep existential doubt.

Could there really be someone… who owns so many pairs of underwear at the same time?

Even a seasoned germaphobe who changes ten times a day wouldn’t be this extreme!

“Wait a minute…”

Mu En suddenly realized.

Putting aside the issue of quantity, upon closer inspection, these underwear were actually all completely different styles.

Just like one cannot date two women at the same time, one cannot wear two different sizes of underwear simultaneously.

In other words…

A flash of insight struck Mu En’s mind as he suddenly recalled what Celia had said to him earlier.

“Boy’s dormitory… stealing underwear… pervert?”

……

In an instant, a chill surged from the soles of Mu En’s feet straight up to his forehead, a terrifying malice coiled above him like a venomous snake, flicking its tongue.

His neck stiffly turned.

He didn’t know when the door to the room had opened, but a tall figure stood in the shadows, silently watching Mu En in the room.

On that somewhat honest and simple face was a look of disbelief.

He seemed to be stunned by the scene before him.

Like a good-natured husband returning home late from work, hearing strange sounds coming from his wife’s room.

After a moment, a low voice tinged with confusion and a hint of anger broke the suffocating silence:

“Mu En Campbell?”

……

“Haha, what a coincidence.”

Mu En looked at Rayen not far away and forced a friendly smile.

“Rein, are you here to visit too?”

“This is my dormitory.”

“……”

Mu En’s smile instantly froze.

I know this is your dorm, dear, but I said it on purpose.

With such an awkward scene, wouldn’t it be better for us to play dumb and let it go?

We’re all classmates, why does the atmosphere have to be so tense?

But Rein clearly didn’t grasp Mu En’s deeper meaning; he simply pulled out his large broadsword in silence.

“I didn’t expect you to find out. Since that’s the case, there’s nothing to be done.”

Like an honest person who, after a brief moment of anger, disbelief, and hysteria, finally accepts reality and chooses to let the other person go in pursuit of happiness, Rein’s expression also calmed down at this moment.

“Let’s return to the embrace of the god of love here, Mu En Campbell,” Rein said with a stern face.

“Is… that so?”

Mu En also stood up, a hint of realization appearing on his face.

Looking at the underwear on the floor, and recalling what had happened earlier, he finally understood what that pure-hearted boys’ mutual aid society really was, and why a group of men would be corrupted by the god of love.

Only with a twisted love in their hearts could they be tainted by the god of love.

It turned out to be a cult formed by a group of men.

No wonder.

Thinking of this, Mu En couldn’t help but look at Rein with a sense of pity:

“Do you know what kind of path you have chosen, Rein?”

“What kind of path? Of course, it’s the path of pursuing love.”

Rein tore apart his clothing, revealing his strong muscles, and… the signature thong of the True Love Cult.

“The great god of love has taught me what love is, so I will naturally follow Him forever.”

“So, as a heretic who blasphemes the divine, you must die here today, Mu En Campbell!”

“Is that so? This pursuit of faith is indeed touching, but do you really think you can do it, Rein?”

Mu En slowly raised the dagger in his hand, smiling as he said:

“During the previous martial arts class, I won, you know.”

From noble mtl dot com

“That was just me being too careless and falling for your little trick.”

Rein glanced at the fruit knife in Mu En’s hand, which seemed to completely disregard him, and the veins on his forehead suddenly throbbed.

But this anger was quickly suppressed.

One cannot fall in the same place twice. After being provoked into anger and losing to Mu En’s few words last time, he had meditated all night to adjust his emotions!

This time, he would never let anger blind his eyes easily!

“It seems the old methods won’t work anymore.”

Mu En sighed, revealing a bitter smile:

“There’s no way to use these little tricks; I might indeed not be your match. So, before I die, could you answer some of my questions, classmate Ryan?”

“What?”

“Actually, it’s nothing much. I’m just a bit curious. Clearly, classmate Ryan is a male, so why was I able to stir your emotions with my words during the martial arts class?”

Mu En stretched his neck like a curious child, exaggerating his tone as he asked:

“Could it be… classmate Ryan, that you can’t find a girlfriend, and so you chose to settle for being a male companion instead?”

“Damn it!”

Ryan’s eyes turned red again upon hearing this.
