There's a skull dungeon attached to my basement
#38 - Skeleton Dungeon Level 2
With all preparations complete, Xiao Yang pushed open the door leading to the second level of the dungeon. A dark passage stretching into the depths appeared before him.
Xiao Yang raised the Darkbane Lantern high and stepped forward. Even though he had increased his attributes to a level that could be considered exaggerated for his current stage, he couldn't help but feel a faint, almost imperceptible fear in the face of this profound darkness.
This was an unavoidable fear, a fear of the dark rooted in human instinct.
A faint light appeared not far ahead, indicating that he was about to reach the next level of the dungeon. Xiao Yang quickened his pace and pushed open the rusty iron door at the end of the corridor. Suddenly, with a dull thud, a stone golem swung its weapon at him.
In this perilous situation, Xiao Yang almost instinctively rolled away. His high agility allowed him to successfully react to the sneak attack.
The attacker was a stone golem carved into the shape of a small demon, clinging to the wall. It wasn't a monster, but a trigger-activated mechanism. Xiao Yang's Scan skill yielded no feedback when used on it.
Having just arrived at the second level, the Skeleton Dungeon was already giving him a hard time. And this was far from over. The rusty iron door behind him slammed shut with a creak. Clearly, Xiao Yang couldn't leave until he cleared this level of the dungeon.
The Dungeon Delver activated, and three pieces of blue equipment appeared before Xiao Yang. However, he probably didn't have time to choose his reward right now. Several crimson eyes suddenly opened in the darkness. They were vampire bats, and they seemed to be linked to the dungeon's original monsters.
They fluttered wildly, the first wave of monsters to charge at Xiao Yang. Following them were pairs of cold, white flames that suddenly ignited. With cracking and snapping sounds, skeleton soldiers and skeleton warriors slowly rose from the ground.
But at a glance, Xiao Yang saw at least twenty or thirty wisps of ghostly white soulfire. And it didn't end there; more soulfires continued to light up from the darkness.
The answer, of course, was the second option. Having just arrived at this unfamiliar second level of the Skeleton Dungeon, only a fool would start a group battle without understanding anything!
Run! Run fast!
Without hesitation, Xiao Yang carried the Justice Reassurance in his hand and sprinted into the passage on the right. After exiting the dark passage and arriving at the second level of the Skeleton Dungeon, three paths immediately lay before him: a passage on the left, a passage on the right, and a small, open square directly ahead.
Now that all the monsters in front had been alerted by the bloodthirsty bats, it was clear that he shouldn't go straight ahead. That left the passages on the left and right.
Between the two passages, Xiao Yang unhesitatingly chose to sprint to the right. Quite simply, he only had time to glance at the right passage before making his decision, because he saw a soft white light there. In this dungeon, there was generally only one place where such a soft white light would appear.
A safe room!
Behind him, amidst the chaotic sounds, a horde of skeletons began to chase after Xiao Yang. These skeletons chasing Xiao Yang were much more professional than their counterparts on the first level. They were like a well-equipped skeleton army. No, they *were* a well-equipped small skeleton army!
There were no ordinary skeletons filling the ranks; almost all of them were skeleton soldiers wearing tattered armor and wielding weapons. Most of those who had risen first were skeleton soldiers wielding long blades. These were the guys who were now relentlessly biting at Xiao Yang's heels, their bones constantly cracking and snapping as they ran, brandishing their long blades menacingly.
Not only were there these long blade-wielding skeleton soldiers, but there were also some wielding spears, holding shields, and even skeleton archers and skeleton crossbowmen.
A chaotic rain of arrows whizzed around Xiao Yang, mostly hitting the skeleton soldiers wielding long blades due to poor accuracy. However, a few arrows did land on Xiao Yang. These arrows could penetrate Xiao Yang's defense, but because Xiao Yang's defense was so high, even if they did penetrate, they mostly only dealt a small amount of damage.
As for why Xiao Yang knew this, it was because he saw the words 'Damage Immunity' constantly popping up in his vision. Of course, some arrows dealt more damage, occasionally causing 'Damage -1' and 'Damage -2' to appear on Xiao Yang, accompanied by the appearance of green numbers.
The +1 health regeneration that Xiao Yang had gained from being dyed pink by the Unstable Life Aggregate was also in effect.
At this moment, the scene could be described as utterly chaotic. For now, this skeleton army didn't pose a great threat to Xiao Yang, but he didn't dare to look back, much less stop, because skeleton soldiers and skeleton archers were still constantly rising from the ground.
Suddenly, with a sharp buzzing sound, a shorter, thicker metal arrow shot from afar, hitting Xiao Yang, who was about to run into the corridor, directly. Instantly, a conspicuous '5 Damage' popped up.
Clearly, a new type of skeleton had appeared before Xiao Yang: skeleton crossbowmen holding crossbows and kneeling on the ground. This immediately made Xiao Yang feel more tense. He was already very close to the passage, and without hesitation, he dove forward, rushing into the passage.
Once inside the passage, Xiao Yang's figure disappeared from the sight of the skeleton archers and skeleton crossbowmen, finally escaping their ranged attacks for the time being.
With a lazy donkey roll, Xiao Yang immediately got up from the ground. As he did this, arrows continued to fall from his back. He had almost been turned into a hedgehog during that short distance.
Fortunately, fortunately he hadn't stubbornly relied on his attributes and engaged in a fearless head-on confrontation with these guys. If he had been surrounded, he definitely wouldn't have had a good outcome, and he would probably have been filled with arrows from the skeleton crossbowmen and archers due to his arrogance, and then died with regret.
It's better to be cautious! It's better to be cautious!
Xiao Yang made this exclamation after completing a tense parkour run. However, he hadn't completely escaped the battle yet. As he got up from the ground, the three fastest long blade skeleton soldiers had already caught up to him, surrounding him.
With cracking and snapping sounds, he was surrounded by these skeleton warriors.
