Isn’t the heirloom sword actually a national treasure sword? A new fact.
But Hurst-san and Ash-san are giving off the air that it can’t be helped, so I decided to think so too.
Time never goes back. It won’t cover up what happened.

. . . The kitchen knife will not return to being a sword.

Yeah. It won’t come back.

“Hey, Isarai Shina! Aren’t you supposed to be cooking now?”

“Ah, yes, that’s what I intend to do.”

“Look! Your favorite grass is growing!”

Ash-san pointed between the trees to me with cloudy eyes.
When I turn my gaze, there is green undergrowth.

“. . .Ash-san, I can’t eat that.”

“Oh, really”

“It’s not like you can eat just any grass. . .”

I like herbs. . . and vegetables.

“Okay, then follow me!”

After saying that, Ash-san entered the forest.
Lured by that momentum, when I went with him, I found myself in the woods for the first time.

“How about this!”

The place Ash-san pointed at.
What was there was. . .

“Mushrooms, right?”

“Oh!”

A brown mushroom growing on a fallen tree.
When Ash-san got it, he handed it to me.

“You don’t have to worry about the heirloom sword. His Highness the Crown Prince said so, but it’s a forgotten sword. If you’re using it as a kitchen knife, that’s fine.”

When I received the mushroom, Ash-san nodded that it was fine.
Maybe he’s trying to cheer me up.
That’s why, when I smiled and said thank you, Ash-san said, Hahaha! and laughed loudly. . .

“You really like the edible things that grow around here!”

“Haa.”

“. . . But, yeah, that kind of thing is cute-”

Zash

“Shina-sama, it’s a poisonous mushroom.”

Yes. It came. The wooden stick.
It was pushed out toward Ash-san’s left cheek. Ash-san quickly jumped away to avoid it, but normally it was a speed that would hit.

“Oh! It’s dangerous!! If I hadn’t avoided it, it would have stuck in my eye!”

“If you can’t even sort mushrooms, then you don’t need it.”

“I need it!!”

Ash-san is emitting Hi! and Kii! alternately while being chased away by Hurst-san.
. . . . Yes. Today as well, the collaboration between the captain and vice-captain of our special forces unit is amazing.

“Even so, this is a poisonous mushroom.”

I stare at the mushroom that Ash-san gave me.
It looks normal. A brown top with a white axis.
Hurst-san who glanced at this and knew it was poisonous was Hurst-san after all. There is a sense of alienation.

“What are you doing with the poisonous mushrooms?”

When I was convinced by one person, I heard a voice from behind.
Looking back, it was. . .

“Are you going to put it in the dish?”

Thruster-san laughs with a snort.
The smart eyes behind the glasses were looking at me with amusement.
It’s very sarcastic, but that’s Thruster-san, so it doesn’t matter.

“Huh? Thruster-san knew right away that this is poisonous. Could it be that it’s a famous mushroom?”

Yes. Thruster-san immediately recognized it as a poisonous mushroom.
If that’s the case, it might be a mushroom that’s famous for being poisonous, even though Ash-san doesn’t know about it.
Hurst-san is not strange, but it’s common sense?
When I questioned him, Thruster-san shook his head.

“It’s not a common mushroom. Even if it’s poisonous, it’ll just give you a stomach ache.”

“I see. Thruster-san is very knowledgeable, so you understand?”

“No. Because I can identify poison.”

“Huh!”

I’m impressed by Thruster-san’s words.
It’s very convenient.

“That’s Thruster-san’s skill.”

“Yes. My skill is. . .”

What is your skill?

“It’s [Sense of Smell]”

“Kyukaku Nijumaru”

No way. It’s like the special ability of a baseball player training game. No way.

“I have a keen sense of smell, and I can smell not only physical poisons, diseases, and rotten things, but also human dirty minds and lies. It smells very ugly and harmful to me.”

“Eh. . . that’s. . . isn’t it really hard?”

It’s a fluffy skill called [Sense of smell], but it’s not very effective. . .?
Because that’s. . .

“. . .You might be the first person who didn’t laugh when you heard about my skill, but rather worried about it.”

When Thruster-san said so, he laughed with only the right corner of his mouth raised.

“Most people laugh at first, saying that I just have a good nose. But when you talk to me, you’ll realize. The lies, the vanity, the deceit, all of them will be noticed by me.”

. . . .Thruster-san’s skill is that he can read people’s minds.
That’s what it is.

“It’s a very useful skill to have in the position of Prime Minister. It was given to me as it should have been given. I’m proud of this skill, and I can master it.”

Thruster-san erased his smile and continued talking without any hesitation.
Assuming that the negative part of a person appears in the scent. . . It’s certainly a necessary skill for Thruster-san, and he’ll be able to use it. I think Thruster-san can do it too.
But. . .

“But. . . the smell of this world is always ugly. Sometimes it doesn’t feel good to be able to smell even if you don’t want to. That’s when I met Ryleigh.”

Oh, suddenly he started laughing.

“Ever since Ryleigh was born, I learned that there are pleasant scents in this world. The smell. When Ryleigh seems to be in pain, I can smell a single trembling flower blooming on the ground and the smell of raindrops.”

Oder is highly expressive.
I didn’t really understand the second half because it was too superlative, and Thruster-san’s panting was really disgusting. But. . .

“. . . .I’m glad.”

Yes.

“I was able to help Ryleigh.”

. . . I was able to protect Thruster-san’s world.

I smiled and looked up at Thruster-san.
Thruster-san then pinched his nose tightly.

“. . .You smell like a rat.”

Here comes the brown rat. . .!
I know! It’s proof that you’re living beautifully!

“Shina-san, are you okay?”

When Thruster-san pinched his nose and my tension increased, Ryleigh-kun rushed over.
I said that I would make dinner, but it seems that he came to pick me up when I didn’t come out of the forest.

“It’s okay, Ryleigh-kun.”

“Is my brother doing something wrong?”

Ryleigh-kun ran and hugged me tightly, so it accepted it and stroked his head.
Of course, Thruster-san is also watching this moment. . .

“. . .my baby rabbit!”

Sorry. A brown rat petted it.

“Ah, Shina-san, that’s it!”

“This is a mushroom, but it’s poisonous.”

“That’s right. I wondered if you could cook with this.”

“Ah, that’s right, mushroom dishes are good too. . .”

Tempura, butter sauté, soup. . .
Oh, it sounds delicious.

When I thought about the mushroom dishes, my stomach growled.
Then, Thruster-san suddenly laughs through his nose.

“Many mushrooms are poisonous, so it might be difficult for an amateur to judge. Do you really plan to cook poisoned food?”

“That’s right. . .”

Thruster-san says it best.
Eating mushrooms collected in the mountains by amateurs is full of dangers.
So, I thought about giving up, but Ryleigh-kun next to me was laughing softly. . .

“Nii-san?”

“What’s wrong, Ryleigh!”

Oh no. . .
Garbage. . . the eyes of a handsome boy looking at garbage.

“After apologizing to Shina-san, crawl down and look for mushrooms.”

“I apologize for hurting you because of my lack of thought. If I collect it, it’s certain that it’s not poisonous. I’ll go find it.”

Thruster-san knelt down in front of me, and then proceeded to the depths of the forest while sniffing the ground. . .
[Sense of smell] is very useful. . . I know an animal whose job it is to look for mushrooms in the forest like this. . . yes. This is undeniably. . .

. . . A truffle pig’s form!

Um. . . Did they all forget that Shina could have just traded points for some mushrooms? She never had to give up on eating mushrooms in the first place. And it would have probably taken a lot less time and not many points. And what in the world is going on in Shina’s mind that can be considered bad thoughts by Thruster’s skill?! Are we just going to ignore that???
