There’s still ⅓ left until we reach our destination, if we go by the dragon and fly through the skies then we would have arrive there instantly. But we dared to and just opted in to walking for thirty minutes.



… ...Un. It’s because I couldn't bear it anymore.



But then again there’s no guarantee that I won’t be huffing and puffing within three to five minutes.



That’s why it’s been decided that someone has to accompany me as I walked towards the Knight Order’s fortress. 


I did try walking around to test the waters but since the grass doesn’t reach until my ankle so there wasn’t any discomfort when walking.


As we slowly reached our destination I could somehow feel my heart throbbing from excitement and then Hurst-san who was walking beside me started speaking.





“Shina-sama the people from the fortress already know that you’ll be arriving so all you have to do is some preliminary announcement.”


“Yes, I see.”


“Since they have already confirmed that Gyabusshu is already within the premise, I’m sure everyone is already aware that Shina-sama will be arriving soon and is now waiting for you.”



“Ah, then would it be better if we hurry?”

I didn’t really plan to take this long while walking but if it’s better if we arrive sooner than I should probably increase my speed more.



While thinking like that, I looked up at Hurst-san and saw him slowly shook his head.






“No. It doesn’t matter if we make them wait. It’s just that there is a little bit of a problem.”

“Problem?”


Even though he just said that it’s alright to make them wait for hours but then suddenly Hurst-san’s tone suddenly became quiet.

And then he slowly continued and said, “Before anything else, there is something I must tell Shina-sama. The knights of the Northern Knights Order are different from the knights of the palace.”


“Err, it’s not something like righteous pedigree or something like that right?”

“Yes. Rather their conduct and lifestyle are more of a huntsman than a knight. Whatsmore, there are no other women who live in the fortress.”

“... ...I...see”

“Well there are some women who lives in the village near the fortress and help around to do some chores but most of them are already married and some are already in their late years.”

“... ...Which means”



“It means that Shina-san is the delicate little rabbit surrounded by wolves.”

What the heck is that? Scary!!



Rather than me shouldn’t it be Ryleigh-kun? Since he suits those words much more than me. Just like what Thruster-san used to say while going ‘haa, haa’ (breathing/panting sound...lol)

“I did think that you might be bewildered at first but please do not worry much.”

“Shina-san you don’t have to worry about anything and just leave everything to us.”



“Yes.  If something does happen then there no problem if we go for it and do everybody”

“Yup~ it’s fine to just burn them all”


    The Tragedy at the Fortress.

　 Stop. Just don’t make anyone disappear.



But back at the palace, I was infamous as a fallen noble who missed her chance to get married.


    That’s why I’m sure Hurst-san and Ryleigh-kun are just overthinking about it. And so I decided to pretend I didn’t notice those weird glints in their eyes as we headed towards the fortress.

“A woman!”


“It’s a woman !”

“It’s a woman …!!”


“WOMAN!”


" A woman ！ ！ "

" Woman, Woman Woman, Woman ！ ！ ！ "



What do I do? I can only hear one categorical word from them. 
    Scary.

In front of the Knight’s fortress gate, there seems to be around thirty guys laughing and jumping around. Most of them seem to be wearing a knight’s outfit similar to that of Hurst-san’s but theirs looks worn out to the point that it looks like a different type of clothes. There were also some people who were wearing something completely different from the Knight’s uniform.



… ...Now I understand what Hurst-san meant a while ago. They really are different from the knights from the palace.

And for some reason, even their voice sounds a lot deeper.

I am dumbfounded upon seeing such a scene in front of me and then a person amongst the group of knights came forward and headed near us.

That person is wearing the same knights uniform just like the one Hurst-san is wearing but the only difference is that there is a cape draped on his back.”


“Danchou/Leader. I have returned.”


“Ah… ...though I would have been glad if you alone returned.”


The person who was heading towards us said as he looked at Hurst-san and that person he addressed as “danchou” is the most distinguished person in this fortress.

“Shina-sama, he is the Leader (danchou)”


“It’s nice to meet you sir.”


“Danchou, she is Shina-sama.”

After being introduced by Hurst-san, I looked at the person in front of us. He has brown coloured hair and brown coloured eyes. He is only of average height and his build is around medium in size and from his appearance alone he doesn’t look strong and judging from his face, he looks haggard and he looks...absentminded.


I wonder how I should phrase this but...rather than the leader of the knights order he looks like someone who works in the black market and gives off a feeling that he is currently exhausted from doing control management related works and is suffering from grief.




Whilst I was staring at him, Danchou sighed as if he found everything in life bothersome.


“Now that you know the leader of this place then next is my motto. As long as nothing happens, nothing changes and having the same norm every day is the best. I hate bothersome things. I hate cleaning up about things and being called to the palace. Seriously, no thanks. I don’t want to do anything and it is better to decide about things next year and that is my stance as the person on top of this place.”


     … ...Un. Right. Yup.



For him to boldly declare it like this I guess this person is extremely tired… …


       Somehow, yup. Do your best.

After saying those things, Danchou slowly peeked behind him and there are the group members whose eyes are glittering as they chant, “Woman, Woman!” and then once again he sighed, looked back at me and whispered, “... ...Shall I tell them that you are actually a guy.”

    Nope, that’s probably impossible.

It’s not like I’m just going to go say ‘Hi! I’m a village girl!’ Besides with what I’m wearing, no matter how you look at it, it totally screams that I’m a woman.


That’s why no one agreed to Danchou’s suggestion. After that I heard him mutter, “Aah… ...I don’t want to think about anything else”



“Well, there’s also this.”

After that, he said, ‘here’ and gave something to Hurst-san. 

It looks like some deep blue colored cloth.


“You probably didn’t have any specific position back there since no one requested to weave one for you but here you’ll once again be the Vice-Leader here so wear it.”


“Yes.”


    Hearing Danchou’s words Hurst-san nodded his head and then he spread it once and wore it over his shoulder.


    “Hurst-san… ...is that a mantle?”
“Yes. Here only the vice-leader and above can wear it.”






Hurst-san said as he absentmindedly stroked his left shoulder but for some reason, I couldn’t help but be entranced… …


    Even though he’s wearing the same knight’s outfit that I have long been used to seeing and then on top of that there this deep blue mantle draped over his shoulders. On the shoulder part of the mantle, there's splendid fur weaved into it and even though Hurst-san is expressionless as usual it suddenly feels like everything looks colorful.


        Furthermore, there’s a sparkling, glittering gold colored embroidery around the fabric.



“Hurst-san… … You look extremely cool”


        The Hurst-san from before has always been cool but somehow the mantle he is wearing makes him so much cooler… …


That’s why this time I decided to honestly state my impression of him but suddenly Hurst-san started coughing.


“Eh? Are you alright?”




“Yes. I’m fine. Sorry for worrying you” 


Hurst-san covered his mouth with his hand and coughed a few more times.


After a while his coughing fits seems to have calmed down and then Hurst-san started staring at me.



“... ...Just now, I just thought that I’m really glad that I came back here.” 


After saying that his eyes became gentle and turned into slits as he smiled.


It’s because he truly looks like he is happy. That's why I couldn’t help but feel the corner of my mouth loosen and smiled back at him.


“Tell me its a lie… …”

“What the hell is that… …”


“Eh… …”

“No way...could it be…. ….”





Suddenly the group members who were looking at us suddenly quiet down.

    And then a few moments later a piercing sound was unleashed similar to the deafening cheer they did when we first arrived, as they went ‘Waaaaaaaaa!!’


“Oi!! It’s dangerous!! The vice-leader is !!!!”



“Uwaaaaaah! There might be a storm tomorrow!!!”


“He’s smiling… …! That killer-like vice-leader is smiling… …”



“Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!”
        

A word other than ‘Woman’ kept on coming out from those mouths and from time to time there seems to be some turbulent words that I can hear… …!








“Then it can only mean, THAT, right?”

“Well duh, other than THAT, what else can it be?”

“There’s just nothing else that we could do!”


“Cause if we try to do anything we’re going to get killed.”


“Definitely”


The knight members continued to make a fuss as they kept on glancing at me. Though I don’t know the meaning behind their gaze. Then they looked over at me for a while… ...and then glanced at Hurst-san who is beside me… … .




“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa… ....”

And then a dejected roaring like cries echoes.
