Three Years After I Was Betrayed By Humanity

On the third day, a lovely and charming woman arrived at my doorsteps with her son.

I took one look at her, then another… But no matter how hard I stared, I do not recognize this woman.

When Ella finally went to get the door, it was obvious that Xiao Yi had already heard of it from her brother.

She curtsied slightly to greet the little artificial airhead. “Hello, Ella. My name is Xiao Yi.”

Ella staggered around and meowed at her in response. The scene was particularly foolish.

Xiao Yi patted the little artificial airhead before straightening up her stance to glance at me, while her smile gradually subsided, “Long time no see, sister.”

I responded lazily and glanced at her feet, which were still standing outside my doorframe.

This entire time, the child had been staring at me with curiosity and awe.

Xiao Yi noticed it instantly and spoke up in embarrassment, “I had told him many things about you… I could not… would not allow him to misunderstand you like everyone else.”

I stared back at the child with equal curiosity. “What did you hear about me?”

The child, not at all afraid of me, blinked his eyes innocently and replied, “My mama told me that you are a hero who had saved the world many times, and as long as you are here, our world would always be safe.”

I took a glance at Xiao Yi, who was staring at her own child with a satisfied smile.

Hence, I lowered my head and asked the child, “Really?”

“Of course not.” The child said without stopping, “Mama said that you are just someone with strong abilities but no brains, and that your only value shows when taking orders from others.”

Xiao Yi’s face changed, and she wanted to cover the child’s mouth before he could finish his words, but I stopped her movements easily with my telekinesis ability.

And after the child had finished speaking, his own face turned pale.

“That’s not true!” Xiao Yi shouted hurriedly, tears welling up in her eyes, “You’ve saved me, my family, and my motherland so many times. Why would I ever say that about you? You’re the only sister-in-law I recognize!”

“Really?” I noticed that the black cat could no longer bear to look directly at the unfolding scenario, and he shut his eyes politely.

“As long as you’re married into our household, my family would surely take advantage of the situation and rise up to be the strongest family in the capital!” Xiao Yi’s eyes widened and shone brightly, “That way, after you die in battle, all of your past glory would be ours…”

To clear my name, it was not my intention to bully another person, but it was really hard for a level 99 player to not hurt a level 1 newbie in a battle.

“Thank you for answering my petty questions.” I sat down calmly in front of Xiao Yi, whose terrified eyes followed my every move. “Although I’ve always had my guesses… But, how shall I put this… I’ve always wanted to know if I was right?
