To Be The Strongest

Chapter 26 - Aokiji vs Ban and Akane (2?)

The soldiers looked in horror as the little girl killed every soldier in her path without any effort. The swords she held were horrifying, as when the katana swept down and cut a man down, his body was reduced to ashes within seconds.

The wakizashi was different, as when it was stabbed or slashed through the body, a large part of flesh seemed to just disappear along with the motion of the blade.

The soldier could only look in horror as their companions fell to Akane's blade one by one.

Akane smiled in glee as she saw the morale of the soldiers go down. The whole ordeal might seem effortless, but it was really tiring to continue striking down soldier after soldier.

It didn't matter how many she took out, as there were still soldier to take their place. The only way to lessen the burden was to lower the morale of the enemy and ȧssure they didn't want to fight her. Another sign Akane had been slacking off with her training.

If she had trained regularly, she wouldn't become tired so fast.

Promising to herself she really would continue her training, she resumed her massacre as the soldiers were still coming towards her.

Aokiji looked out of the corner of his eye, as he saw his men fall one by one. He really wanted to help them, he even saw that their enemy was the target, so he had to confront her.

Unfortunately he was stuck with a persistent opponent.

Ban smirked at Aokiji while the wounds he had just received began to heal.

"Maaan, you really know how to fight. Too bad you're fighting me~" Ban said as he swung his staff, Courechouse, at an indredible speed. Aokiji backed away, dodging the strange weapon.

Ban began to chase him as the time between the strikes became shorter and shorter. The smile remained on Ban's face as he taunted Aokiji to try harder.

"I guess admirals aren't as strong as I've been told." Ban said as his staff grazed just past Aokiji's cheek. Instead of blood, little chunks of ice were broked from Aokiji's face as he too decided he had to speed up and use more of his powers.

Aokiji stepped down with a lot of force, freezing the ground beneath him until all around him the ground had frozen.

Aokiji's speed increased even further as he started the offensive against Ban. The ice sword in his hand had disappeared, instead he swung his hand forward and ice blasted forward in the shape of a bird.

Aokiji, as having expected it to happen, shot many ice spears towards Ban as soon as he appeared, while ice spikes shot up from the frozen ground with every step Ban took.

Ban dodged the spikes trying to impale him, while deflecting the ice spears flying his way. The smile on his face had faded a bit as the Admiral was stronger than he'd thought. Not as strong as his captain, Meliodas, but still strong.

Ban streched out his hand, pointing it towards Aokiji's stomach as he called out 'Snatch!'

Aokiji didn't know what Ban was trying to do, but he had a bad premonition and dodged sideways out of his reach. Near the direction he had previous been standing, a soldier that had backed away from Akane's murder frenzy was caught up in Ban's attack. Blood spurted from his mouth as he fell to the ground, his eyes already having lost their light.

Aokiji looked in horror at the sight. What even happened? He looked towards Ban and saw in his hand a faintly beating heart. The blood gushed out of it and stopped beating in the following second.

"Nice dodge~" Ban said as he whistled at Aokiji's instincts and reflexes.

"What kind of power is that?" Aokiji said, though he wasn't expecting an answer. This power was really disturbing. If he hadn't dodged in time, it would be him that was missing one of his organs.

Ban didn't feel obliged to aswer and only responded with a, "Who knows? Not telling~"

Aokiji looked with a glare at Ban, his usual carefree demeanor gone.

"Let's see how you deal with this." Aokiji said as he disappeared from his spot.

Ban vigilantly kept his ground as he tried to sense his opponent. Though he wasn't adept with observation haki, he could still use it. When he finally felt his opponents presence, Ban felt a cold touch on his back.

Ban turned backwards and swung his staff towards Aokiji. It passed straight through him and shattered Aokiji when it made contact. At the same time, Ban could feel the cold encroach on his body.

"Well, shit. Guess I wasn't carefull enough." Ban said as his body completely froze over. Aokiji followed up with kicking at the frozen Ban and shattering him in the process.

"Let's see if you can come back from that." Aokiji said as he dashed towards the bloody massacre happening to his subordinates.

While his back was turned away, Ban appreared completely unscathed on the ground, a smirk still on his face.

"I haven't tried that before and was quite curious. Seems my immortality works against freezing and shattering as well. Nice~"

Ban said as he dusted his pants, at least what remained from them, and followed after Aokiji.

He wasn't even done fighting the man yet and he had already gone to play the hero and snatch away his pet. No way that was going to happen. The little fox was his pet, not his.

Ban smiled again, though this time the playful glimmer was gone and there was only complete seriousness.

"All right, Let's beat the shit out of him and get back to the ship. I really wan to take a nap and I need my hug pillow as well.." Ban said as he quickened his pace towards Akane and Aokiji.
