TO THE MEAN MATE

I couldn't sleep as I stepped out of my room. Everyone was running around. They are checking everywhere. I guess nobody is sleeping today. I walked little further when I saw Alex, Zander and Emma. But what's in their hand. Look like they are leaving somewhere. 

"Hey, where are you guys going? " I asked as they looked me back surprised. They didn't expected me. 

"We are shifting to the camp near pack border so we can attack them before they enter into pack house. "Zander told me smiling at me. 

" Why didn't you wake me up then? "I asked him, were they leaving me alone here? 

" They won't hurt you. They want Emma. You are safe here. There's enough warriors here. No need to worry. Take care"

What the hell. I need to participate in this attack. I need to face Aaron. He can't just use me and throw me away. I'll destroy him. 

"No I'm coming with you" I walked further as I stand with Emma. 

"Ok fine" Emma sighed and we walked slowly into the woods. It's already dark.I keep putting me feets between branches and it's making noise. 

"Could you please stop the noise you are making? " Alex asked me. His voice nowhere calm. He is pissed. 

"I can't see. It's so dark"

"The fuck, Amy you are werewolf let Scarlett take over your body. She can see in the dark"

Oh I forgot, then I noticed everyone eyes color is changed. But why Emma's eye color is different. She didn't had her wolf? I should ask her when we reach there. After few minutes in the dark we reached the tent as I see warriors are still training and guarding the area. 

I noticed everyone is busy. Alex, Zander and Emma was talking something I clearly can't understand with the map. 

After a while Emma comes closer to me.she grinned at me and said;

"You are bored".

" Very"I yawned. 

"Then go back to the pack. We will arrange someone to take you there? "

Why should I leave? 

I'm the luna and beta female. Why she is pushing me back. I'm getting pissed by this nonsense. 

"Listen I'm the luna, I have the every right to be here. It's my responsibility to protect the pack. And also I'm the beta female so I have to help with that too. " I low key yelled at her. 

"You are wrong Amy. You are not the Luna, you lost the title when you chose Aaron. And you are not the beta female as Aaron is a traitor. He's not longer the beta." Even if everything she is saying true, why I'm still mad at her. It's my pack too. I have every right to protect it. 

'Look Emma. Whatever happened between Alex and me, we will clear those things after this attack. So you should watch your month. "

"You still think after everything you put him through, he will forgive you and stay with you? That's toxic Amy"

I blink my tears as I feel myself down. I had tiny hope in my heart but she broke it to million pieces. 

"What's going on here? " Zander came towards us. He looked at my face and side hugged me.

"What happened? "

I whimpered. 

"It's all my fault. I'm sorry" I apologies. I don't know if I ever will be out from this guilt. 

"It's okay. We should have figure out things first. "

I looked at Emma, her expression changed into pity. I definitely don't want it. Alex hold Emma's hand and comforted her. Their bonding is so strong. 

"Why do they want Emma? " I asked the question that keep bugging me. 

"Because... " Zander started to tell me but Alex cut it out. 

"Don't tell her"

"Why? I need to know everything" I glared at him. 

"You don't have to know everything" Now he's being jerk. How can he hide things from me when I'm involved too. 

"Why? Don't you trust me? " I asked him again hoping he would decline it. 

"Yes.. I don't trust you" His answer give me shock. Is he pointing out that we don't have future together? 

"Why can't you trust me? " I asked him even I know the answer. 

"You are asking me why I can't trust you. Because of you I lost trust in love, in relationship, in commitment and you are asking me why? " He words were stronger than the swords. Our conversation got heated as I defended my situation. 

3rd POV

In the midst of their argument they hear some noises, due to their heightened senses they deduced that these were the sounds of paws smacking across the ground.But just as they turn around to observe their environment they noticed that they were surrounded. 

Wolves and mates encircling them from every part of the forest

"KIAARRHHH!"

They hear a loud scream

The sound came from their initial position. The same place their companions are at the moment

"Grrhhh!" The wolves suddenly lunged at them not giving them the chance to think about the scream that just reverberated across the environment. 

Amy's Pov

Alex and Zander shifted in mid air and pushed the wolf back and bites that deadly wolf on his neck. 

"Well well.. What we have here? " I heard a familiar voice. It was Elder Stephen. I glared at him as I remember how he fooled and made me believe on cursed bond. 

"Not someone you didn't know" Emma countered and her eyes is turning to white. It's scary as I realized she found her wolf. 

That eye color is not normal. It's very rare. I think I saw the same eye somewhere else but I can't remember it. 

"Hey Amy" I heard the voice that betrayed. Every inch my cell feels the betrayal he caused. I want to destroy him.I truly loved him and trusted him. But he used me. 

I glared at him with hatred. 

"Don't worry. Elder Stephen will take Emma and you are coming with me" Aaron come towards me and suddenly I pushed background as I felt some paws. It's Alex. He's protecting me even after I failed him. 

"Baby girl come here, and tell your best friend to come with us" His voice cringed me. Bloody mot****fu****

"Why do you want her? " I asked in the midst of serious environment. 

"Oh you don't know.I guess they don't trust you anymore. Well you remember someone saved you at the attack and rescued your wolf. That's her. "

I dumbfounded. No way that was white wolf. 

"Your precious best friend is white wolf. And he is her mate" As he pointed at Elder Stephen

"Ex mate" Emma dodged his words. 

"Ex or current. I'm still your mate. Come with me.We will spare your loved ones life"

"I won't come with you. I won't let you torture you again" She yelled at him. 

"That was just experiment. I'm not going to do that anymore. Come live with me. We will stay happy as you want" His smirk me he had even worse things in his head. 

Suddenly Zander launched at him and tried bite his neck but Elder Stephen shifted in to his wolf. And started to attack him. 

Emma also shifted to her wolf and helped Zander to defend against that evil person. 

I looked at Aaron as much I want to kill him I'm not sure I can do that. 

Aaron shifted into his wolf as I see him inching towards Emma. I jumped at him and shifted into my wolf as I pushed him other. 

'You don't have to do anything Scarlett, go back. I'll come to get you' Aaron mindlinked me. 

'I'm not coming with you' I yelled at him as I circled him. Alex also joined us. 

He looks like he will tear Aaron into million pieces. 

'I know You love me Amy, stay with me' I can sense he's diverting my mind. I won't allow it. 

Suddenly Aaron launched at me and pushed me into the ground then locked me with his body. 

"Stay here. Do not move" As he knocked me out in the ground as I realized I'm slipping into unconscious.When I regained my conscious I saw blood everywhere. So many warriors already lost their life.I saw elder Stephen pinning Zander into the ground. But suddenly Emma bite his legs as he screamed in pain. Then Zander pushed him back and bites his neck. It's over he's dead. Emma clawed his chest and and untangled his heart from his body. 

Then I heard a growl as I realized it's only Aaron left. No way he can win against everyone. He's surrounded by the whole pack. Too many people died but still it's huge in numbers. 

As he realized he's not going to make it. He shifted back to human as he wore tracks that was tied into his legs.Alex , Zander and Emma also shifted back and dressed. It's over. What are they going to do with him. Aaron looked at me as took his shirt from ground and comes towards me. 

"SHIFT" I took shirts from his hands with my teeth and goes behind a tree to changed into it. 

The atmosphere was intense. 

"Amy. I truly loved you. Everything between us was real" Aaron tried to come towards me. But I stepped back behind. Even if his love was true, but his intention was wrong. 

"I hate you Aaron for doing this to me. I don't want to see your face again"

I spitted at him. 

"If I can't have you. He can't too " He pointed at Alex. Something is wrong. Then suddenly he took a knife from the ground and aimed at Alex.No no.. He can't kill him. I'll make him die with regret as I jumped between him and Alex as the knife Pierce through my heart."

"AMY" I heard a screaming but I can't understand from whom. 

Pain overflowed my body as I smiled. Finally I did something right. I lost my balance as layed on the ground with bleeding heart. Then suddenly I saw Alex face as he layed me down on his lap. I saw tears dripping from his eyes. 

"Please stay awake" He begged me. As much I want to listen to him but it's hurts. 

"I'm sorry" I apologies to him. 

"Please forgive me Alex.if I can undo the the past. I would erase all your painful memories that caused by me. I'm really sorry. "

I begged for his forgiveness. He patted my head. 

"It's okay. You will be fine. Please stay with me" He voice got tighten. 

I looked at Zander and Emma. They both had painful expression. 

Then I heard a painful growl, I looked at direction. Aaron was looking at me. He's heartbroken I can see it. And I know he can't ever erase this memory from his mind. He will live with this regret. And that's his punishment. 

He inches towards me but Alex hold on me tightened. 

He hold my face and kissed my forehead. 

"I'm sorry for everything Amy. Everything was real. My love for you was real, I didn't betrayed you. I just hide some things from you. Because if you knew you would be in danger."

He hold my hands. I released my hands from his hold. 

"This is your punishment Aaron. Leave here. And don't ever come back here" 

"I'm not leaving you here" He begged me to make him stay with me. I can't. I want to spend my last moments with my real mate. 

"That is the least you can do for me Aaron"

He looked at me once more time and ran towards the forest by shifting into his wolf. 

"We shouldn't leave him like that, he should die". Alex told me while caressing my hair

" This punishment is worse than death Alex. Every second day of his life will remind him the betrayal he did and my death will seal every single joy from his life. His life will become miserable "

Alex nodded at me. My breathing got tightened as soon I know I don't have much time left. 

"I love you Alex, please find someone who is better than me and trust and love you for the eternity. Be happy"

"Zander tell mom and dad I missed them. And take care of your----"

3rd pov

"AAAH" Amy's breathing got quicker. Everyone couldn't hold their pain. 

She smiles at everyone as she took his last breath. 

Three painful growl erupted from the woods as they lost someone who's precious to them.As much Alex wanted to hate Amy he knew Aaron fooled her and it's wasn't her fault. He did something which cost the lost of her trust. He knows he can't live a happy life from now on as her memories will remind him she sacrificed her life to protect him.. It's wasn't just punishment for Aaron it was also life imprisonment for Alex too.
