This book feels like it has 150,000+ words in a blink of an eye. I have noticed many problems so far, and the most serious problem is that the pace is too slow.
Compared with the previous book "Tokyo Ghoul: Starting from the Double Kamuy", the pace of this book is obviously much slower.
But from the overall data, such as the 100,000-word completion rate (meaning the proportion of readers who have read from Chapter 1 to 100,000 words), this book is actually similar to the previous one, but the subsequent follow-up reading is obviously a bit worse, probably because of the slow pace. People either keep reading or abandon the book.
In addition, the volume absorption is obviously not as good as the previous book. Sure enough, "The Tears of Kamuy" is more attractive (laughs), but we can't keep writing "Double Kamuy", right?
Back to the issue of rhythm, this book has been written here. To be honest, the rhythm is difficult to change. In the past, I had a situation where the data collapsed due to a temporary change of the rhythm, so I dare not easily change the rhythm too quickly, and can only make minor adjustments at most.
If I were to say the reason, it might be because I had been writing "Double Kamui" before, and this time I suddenly changed the gold finger to Fusion Madara-ye, and I might not be able to adapt to it for a while.
The pace of writing "Double Kamui" was always quite fast before, but it slowed down a lot this time, and it was not intentional. It seemed to be a little less spiritual. I didn't realize it until I wrote 100,000 words. I didn't notice this problem before 100,000 words.
Another problem is that I have already written a "Ghoul". In order to avoid repetition of plots, and the world view of "Tokyo Ghoul" itself is small, there will be many restrictions when writing this book.
However, I only mentioned the disadvantages of slow pace before. There are also advantages. The first three books were "withered" at most 300,000 words because of the fast pace, and this book may become the longest one I have written on Tomato.
Although the short-term benefits are not as good as the three books with fast pace before, from a long-term perspective, the benefits of steady flow are also good.
I won't make any promises here. This book may end after writing the "Ghoul" world, or it may consider going to the "Naruto" world. Of course, it's just a possibility, so don't have too high expectations.
We must see the specific situation at that time, otherwise it will be easy to be like the last "Ghoul". It can be successful and famous if it ends well in the "Ghoul" world, but it has to cross the "Giant" world and cause it to collapse in the middle. It's a pity that the data from the first chapter to more than 300,000 words was very good, but the tens of thousands of words of crossing the "Giant" ruined the whole book, and it was barely remedied by ending in the "Ghoul" world.
Tomato's recommendation mechanism determines that this kind of multi-world anime is not easy to read, so you will find that there are few anime with high reading on Tomato. It's not that they are not well written, but that they are unintentionally targeted by the Tomato mechanism.
In fact, in general, the difference between fast pace and slow pace is that one starts high and ends low, and the other is steady forward.
If we talk about the bad points of this book, there are definitely some. I have tried my best to avoid them, but the lack of level is a flaw. As far as my personal level is concerned, fast and slow rhythms have their own advantages and disadvantages. If this book can be written longer without breaking down, I think it is still worth a try.
Finally, this single chapter is my own reflection. I have been reflecting on the problems of this book since the 100,000-word debut. Although the results are quite good, there are some shortcomings compared to the previous ghoul.
If the problems are reflected in this book, then the next book can be improved and perform at a better level. For example, the previous book has a too fast rhythm, and this book has a too slow rhythm, so the next book will have a moderate rhythm.
Of course, I am not in a hurry to consider the next book now. At the moment, I am just thinking about writing this book well, constantly updating it, and not letting it end badly, to give all readers and myself an explanation.
And this book will still fine-tune the rhythm appropriately, such as trying to avoid water writing, but to be honest, my personal writing style is like this. I like to use narration to explain some things very clearly, just like a reader said, "It's like writing an argumentative essay." The first three old books have always had this old problem. I can only try my best to pay attention.
Finally, thank you all for your continued support. If you are looking forward to it, please vote for me (gift)!
