Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Am I Really Fighting Against Eun-soon (Part 4)

Days passed and soon, it was finally the day of the match. I put on 55 kg to go up against Eun-soon. Then again, my metabolism is so strong that I can lose all that if I don’t eat for a day. Oh, and I’m taller than Eun-soon as well. After Jong-woo, I got three more coaches, but just like Jong-woo, they all quit within a day. So in the end, my coach was Jinwoo. In the end, Jinwoo became my coach.

Still at the dorms.

“Sian, how much do you weigh?” Jinwoo asked.

“55 kg.”

“You match with Eun-soon exactly then, since she’s also 55kg. But you’re taller right?”

“I’m 168 cm.”

“Eun-soon is 163. You’ll have a higher reach than she does.”

Jinwoo threw out a kick of his own.

“But Sian,” Jia said as she approached me.

“Yeah?”

“Since you gained weight, your curves look way better,” Jia whispered.

“Do they?”

I looked down at my chest. It seems like they’re the only ones that actually got bigger.

“Sian, be sure to get at least one good blow in. Then, I’ll forfeit right after.”

Jinwoo waved the white flag in his hand. It seems that he really did intend to throw it in if I ended up getting beaten.

“Give it to Eun-soon.”

“Eh? Why would I give it to her? I have to have it. I brought another one as well, just in case.”

Jinwoo proudly whipped out another white towel. I clicked my tongue when I saw it. To think that he has so little faith in me.

A few minutes later, Jun-jin showed up and we all headed over to the KJOBBAB stadium. There, we’ll have a weigh-in and tomorrow, we fight.

***

We arrived. Jun-jin followed me around with his camera while the other members of Fifteen occupied themselves by taking a look around.

“Sian, are you nervous?” Jun-jin asked.

“There’s no reason to be nervous,” I replied with a shrug.

I really didn’t feel nervous at all. Not even a single bit.

“Dos that mean you think you’ll win against Eun-soon?”

“What do you think, Jun-jin?” I countered.

Suddenly, Jun-jin began to hesitate.

“Uh…uh, well…”

“Be honest. Who do you think will win?” I asked, flexing my fists.

The sound of my bones cracking was very nice today.

“If…if I were…to be honest…I think you…you might be able to win.”

“If I win, I win. What do you mean ‘might be able to?'”

As I spoke, I looked over at the JOBBAB girls standing by the scale. Those girls were sexy and curvy. The type of appearance that made you want to keep staring. If I were a guy, I’d definitely be into that.

“Sexy.” I observed them with a nod.

Jun-jin cut in.

“The JOBBAB girls are sexy, but I think the CIVA girls are sexier.”

CIVA girls. He was talking about the team from UCIVA, the top MMA team in the US.

“They are pretty sexy.”

They were foreigners, sexy ones at that. They were sexy and voluptuous, which was really a turn-on. I mean, attractive. But still…what good was it to just be attractive on the outside? Then, they’re most likely completely different on the inside. I should know – I’m a girl on the outside as well.

“But Sian, your body is way better compared to the JOBBAB girls,” Jun-jin said, giving my body a quick scan. I almost poked his eyes out then, but I let it go since what he said was true.

“Exactly. It’s not like I just lost that weight aimlessly.”

Suddenly, it was time for the weigh-in. Jin-woo wished me luck and the other members of Fifteen rushed over to massage me on my shoulders and arms. It’s just a weigh-in. Why are they making it into such a big deal?

“Go, Sian!” Hainan said, giving me a kiss on the cheek.

I could feel a smile forming on my face. I guess I am still a man, thank goodness. I was still a man and will forever be a man. I just had to make sure to not let go of my identity or my dignity!

Eun-soon stepped up to the scale. The moment she did, all the athletes began to cheer for her.

After Eun-soon, it was me. Then it was Jinwoo’s and the Fifteen members’ turn to cheer me on. Unfortunately, they’re not as loud as the MMA athletes. If I’d known, I would’ve posted something on SNS to ask the fans to come. Anyways, my weigh-in soon ended and our profiles were put up afterwards.

My profile was almost entirely question marks. Then again, it makes sense considering I’ve never competed before. The only proof of me even fighting was that video of me fighting against the four guys. On the other hand, Eun-soon’s was very detailed. Looking at her profile, I could see that she prefers blows over takedowns and KO wins over submission wins. That tells me that she likes to be fast and quick. Also, her high accuracy rating was that of a real champion. Her Takedown Defended stats was really high too. Just looking at her profile, I could see she was very skilled. Still, to me, Eun-soon was still just a baby who had a lesson to learn.

After the weigh-in, Eun-soon and I stood in front of each other to get photos taken.

“Can you guys pose together please?” the reporters called out.

Eun-soon and I posted like we were fighting, holding our fists up at each other. And that’s when it happened. Eunsoon drew her head back and slammed it into my chest.

Tok!

“Um.”

I found it a little ridiculous but the reporters were going absolutely crazy with their cameras.

‘Is she trying to provoke me?’

When I see other fighters, they’ll be like that too – doing whatever they can to provoke their opponent. Some simply do it for entertainment purposes. But looking at Eun-soon’s face, I could tell that she really wanted to fight me.

Eun-soon was looking at me fiercely and soon, she had her face all up in mine. So I brought my own head forward to knock into hers.

Wham!

***

A loud crack echoed throughout the stadium. It was like time had frozen.

I pulled my head away from Eun-soon’s and stared at her. Her eyes seem to be unfocused. Her pupils had rolled backwards, leaving only the whites of her eyes. After about five seconds though, they came back, but they were wide and shaking. She looked groggy. She looked as though she’d go down if I just poked her, but I didn’t do that. I have to be the victim here. That way, I get the sympathy and Eun-soon becomes the bad guy.

After five more seconds, Eun-soon regained her senses. Then after taking a wide step back, she laughed as if nothing had happened

“Hahahaha!”

‘Was this girl okay?’

A huge lump was starting to form on Eun-soon’s forehead. This really wasn’t a time to laugh. Well whatever, it’s not like it’s my problem. Now it was time for me to play the victim.

“Oh my god! Ah!”

I gave a loud cry and clutched my forehead with both of my hands. Everyone flew towards me in concern. Even the other athletes who had cheered for Eun-soon earlier were running towards me. As soon as I was surrounded, I closed my eyes and pretended to faint. This was being broadcast live. All my fans and those of the other members were definitely watching, and I could almost hear them crying foul.

***

“It looks like a concussion,” my team doctor said to me.

“Is she okay?!” Jinwoo shouted.

“You should probably go to the hospital. Get a CT scan. That was a loud crack there. Eun-soon is an MMA athlete. Her bone density is stronger than yours. It’d be a miracle if your skull wasn’t cracked.”

“Oh no…”

Jinwoo looked at me, his face highly concerned. I’ve never seen him look so worried before. I guess he really does care.

Soon, the team doctor left and Jinwoo followed to have a word with the Korean Devils. The reporters followed as well. Now it was just me. No, wait. The other members of Fifteen were here as well. I opened my eyes and sat up. Everyone exclaimed in shock.

“Sian! Oh my god!”

“Ugh. Acting is so hard. Did the reporters leave?”

“Yeah. They’re all gone! But are you okay?!” Jia exclaimed with worry.

I reached over to give her a pat on the head.

“I’m okay. Don’t worry about it.”

“Are you really okay?! I heard your bone breaking! It was so loud!”

“It’s fine. I was just acting. Look. There’s nothing wrong with me,” I said with a grin. If anything, it was Eun-soon they should be worried about. Her forehead was swelling up like a balloon. Anyways, upon seeing my reaction, the members exchanged looks and let out frustrated sighs. They really did care about me.

“Hey, Sian, so many people are worried about you. Look at all these comments.”

Ji-hyun held up her phone so I could see. Wow. She was right. Men and women were sending comments left and right, asking for my wellbeing. And many of them were also criticizing Eun-soon as well. It’s human nature to support the weaker underdog. And if the underdog happens to be prettier as well…well then, it’s game over for the opponent. Not to mention that this whole thing even happened before the fight. Eun-soon had no reason to butt heads with me like that. The people were getting angrier with her by the second. At the same time, the chances people saw of me winning went down by 2%. Now was really the time to place bets on me. That was sure to get them rich. The fans were starting to protest the fight as well, asking what the whole point of this was. They clearly didn’t want to see me get hurt. I began to feel very grateful for that, but I told them I was okay. It didn’t work. Looks like the Korean Devils just made themselves a whole slew of enemies.

“Our fandom is more intense than I thought.”

“They’re your fans,” Jia corrected with a smile.

That was true. My fans were intense. Is it because most of them were women? Well, Eun-soon was probably guilty now. Though it had been me who had nearly broken her skull, but that won’t matter to anyone. The one who passed out was me. Looking at this, I can definitely see myself acting in the near future.

***

After ranking number one on all the portal sites, the next day came fairly quickly. The day of the match. Oh, and my fandom increased as well. Eun-soon had unnecessarily tried to attack me, and the sight of my pretty little body passing out had drawn some sort of protective male instinct from many of the male fans, especially from the older-middle aged ones.

“Sian, be careful today, okay? Especially with your face. Don’t get hit in the face, okay?” Jia kept saying to me with concern.

“Don’t worry about it. I’m hungry. Can we have ramyun?”

“No. Your face will swell. It will probably end up swelling anyway so we need to be careful.”

This girl was just heaping with concern. She probably still thinks I’ll be eaten alive by Eun-soon. Ever since I “fainted,” her worry for me had only doubled. Still, it was nice that she worried for me so much. Jia Lee. She really is amazing.

“Okay. Then let’s eat after the match.”

“Okay. I’ll make it for you myself.”

“I want ten, okay?”

“Ten is too much.”

“Then nine.”

“You can have five.”

“Okay. Then I’ll have five and then afterwards, let’s go out and eat more.”

“….”

Evening then came, with the time for the match finally here. It was only a small match, but there were so many people in the stadium. And those people were there for me. I guess the video of me fainting worked better than I had expected. Even the Korean Devils seemed burdened. They probably hadn’t expected a response like this. It was a big loss for them. Eun-soon had earned herself close to 10,000 anti-fans within a day. If Eun-soon loses, it was game over. Not that it would ever happen, as far as they were concerned.

It was now time for the match. Eun-soon walked into the fighting cage as dramatic music began to play. I walked in to a song that Jinwoo had written and composed himself. Wait, isn’t this a Lovely Girlz’s title track? Well, it’s good promotion I guess.

We stood in the cage, facing each other. The referee inspected both of us. He eyed the lump on Eun-soon’s face warily, and I smirked. It was huge. Must have been pretty painful. Fortunately, she grit her teeth and came out anyway – as the top Asian champion would. But her face didn’t look so good. It looked like she had aged at least ten years. As a young girl, she probably used the internet as well and had seen all those nasty comments. Her fault for coming at me like that. That old saying that moving your mouth with no purpose will bring you harm certainly proved to be right in this case.

The referee started the match and suddenly, everything went quiet.
