Chapter 227 - World 8.39

"Are you not tired yet?" Jaewon, who was already catching his breath exclaimed the moment they reached the top of the slope. It almost made his knees tremble and he felt like his throat would dry up from exhaustion.

"Hey? Are you okay?" Yeon-ho asked, he moved closer to the male and brushed his back. He was quite worried though.  His eyes went down to the male's wrist and saw the reddened area around it, he slowly untied the ribbon and removed it.

Jaewon sprang "Ehh?! Why did you remove it?!" he asked.

Yeon-ho lifted up his hand "Can't you see that your wrist is almost sore? Well, I don't really care if we win or not," he said, delivering his gaze into the wild trees under them. "I just want to enjoy the day with you," he added.

Suddenly, the bright sky became cloudy, showing gray clouds. Thin strikes of lightning were roaring above them. Jaewon spread his palm in the air  "It seems like it will rain" he commented. Right after he said those words, pittering sounds slowly conquered the surroundings and the umbrella of leaves started to dance in every drop.

Yeon-ho pulled the male "Let's find some shelter!" he said, dragging the maele towards his pace. The two of them ran and ran until a small narrow cave caught their attention, and they took shelter.

"Geez!!" Jaewon clicked his tongue "Why am I so unlucky today?!" he rants like he was all by himself. The male who was also sitting in front, staring at him smiled. "And what made the day unlucky to you?" Yeon-ho asked with a grin.

Jaewon rolled his eyes "Because I was stuck with you!" he replied bluntly, emphasizing every word at the male's face.

Yeon-ho smirked and looked outside, observing the drops of rain hitting the grasses that was slowly getting drenched in the open land, "Well, it's my lucky day" he said

Jaewon crossed his arms, since they already removed the ribbon, he can now move on his own "Jerk," he uttered, averting his gaze but Yeon-ho could see that he was blushing. He was shy again because they were alone together.

{Can I just throw him outside or somewhere?}

AUTHOR: Of course you can't do that

{Why?!}

AUTHOR: You might be the one to be thrown away

{ He's so annoying, he's always teasing me}

AUTHOR: But that's the first thing you liked about him

"Hey, Are you cold?"

Jaewon snapped himself back to reality after hearing Yeon-ho, he instantly shook his head to show that he wasn't cold at all, but secretly hugged his knees more. Of course he was cold, but who knows? Yeon-ho might do something intimate to him again and he couldn't bear it.

Yeon-ho again, observed the male. He made a puzzled face after seeing his trembling hands. He slowly moved beside Jaewon, closer to his shoulders. "Liar," he whispered, he wrapped his arms around the male's thin body.

Jaewon didn't protest at all, he just stayed there quietly wanting to feel the warmth from Yeon-ho's body. He was like leaning on a warm teddy bear, he likes it.

"Where have you been?" Nohae greeted Jaewon with a jacket on his arms, he wrapped it around Jawon's shoulders.

Jaewon paused for a second, it was a little bit awkward. "I'm fine, the rain just got us," he said, turning his head away. Yeon-ho who was on his side tapped Nohae's back "We're fine so please excuse us," then he pulled Jaewon away.

They stopped the game because of bad weather. The faculties gathered all the students back because they have decided to shorten the event, the School Expedition. Everyone scattered towards their tents to take a rest, since the rain just subsided.

Jaewon told Yeon-ho to take care of himself because he can change his clothes on his own so the male left his side. He slumped himself down on his soft futon, releasing a long sigh. "I still couldn't face him," he mumbled to himself as soon as he entered his own tent.

He stared into nothingness, wrapping the jacket from Nohae more on his chest. He twisted to the other side, closing his eyes a little. After that night, he started to ignore and avoid the male as much as he could. They can no longer go back to the way they used to be, because whatever he does, he needs to draw a line between them.

As he was still in his daze, he saw a shadow outside his tent, it made his eyes widened.

"Are you there, Jaewon?" A familiar mellow voice asked.

Jaewon blinked his eyes, he gulped as he hurriedly opened the entrance. "Nohae?!" he exclaimed.

The male smiled at him and sat down. "Here" he handed Jaewon a canned coffee "This is not literally a hot one but I know you like it," he said, turning his gaze to the aftermath of the rain earlier.

The sun that was hiding behind the clouds slowly peek and the rays of it hitted Nohae's face, penetrating his eyes. He used his palm to block the warm sunlight, it was nearly afternoon.

Again, Jaewon witnessed how enchanting Nohae was, his eyes shining through the light wanting to caress his cheeks. He rustled and took the empty space beside the male, "Thank you" he mumbled.

"How are you?" Nohae asked.

The male didn't mean anything by that question but why does it feel like Jaewon should be the one asking him that. A sting quickly jolted inside his chest, "I-I'm f-fine…" he replied

Nohae was quick enough to notice the awkwardness crawling around Jaewon so he lifted up his hand and ruffled the male's hair "Why are your eyes so sad?" he asked, in a way of comforting.

Jaewon didn't answer, he instead embraced the male, it made Nohae freeze. He squeezed him tight as if he wanted to tell him that it's okay. "I'm sorry," he mumbled, burying his head more on the male's shoulders. "I'm sorry for giving you false hope," he uttered with a shaking tone.

A languid smile stretches Nohae's cheeks, he hugged Jaewon back and rubbed the back of his head, "It's okay but thank you," he said "Thank you for allowing me to feel this way, I know it's sounds silly, but you let me forget who I really am...and I fell for you." he whispered.

"Please let me thank you too, Nohae....because of you I now know what I truly want"
