Chapter 279 - World 10.17

"I don't know what you are talking about," Yuan delivered the food from his mouth, then he chewed gently.

Sun Wei and Qi Zhou were asking him about the royal Prince. They wanted to know him more too or where he came from. But the male smoothly dodged all of their questions.

"If you don't cooperate with us, we can tie you up again," Sun Wei said with his voice full of authority as he was trying to scare the male.

Instead of getting frightened, Yuan just giggled at Sun Wei's words. "Why don't you believe me? I am just a runaway youth," he said.

"He's right. Why are you interrogating him so much?" Xianyu second the motion. "He had nothing to do with that royal crown prince," he added. The male beside him clung his arms to Xianyu. "Your friends are scary, Xianyu," he said.

Xianyu pursed his lips out then he glared at Sun Wei and Qi Zhou like he was protecting an innocent child. "Instead of suspecting him, why don't we ask for his help," he stated.

Qi Zhou put down his chopsticks on the table and used the tablecloth to wipe his lips. "Xianyu was right," he agreed. "He had no place to go right now so he can stay with us for the meantime.". His statement made Sun Wei gazed at him, "Are you serious?!" he exclaimed.

A thud from the chapstick landed on Sun Wei's head. "We are at the front of the table, mind your manners," Qi Zhou said. Sun Wei rubbed his head and released a snort.

"Where are we again?" Xianyu asked, referring to the man's story a while ago.

The crown prince was said to be a kindhearted person when he was a kid. Everyone, including the Palace loved him so much until he reached the teenage age. The Prince was so talented and competitive that he became the general in the imperial war. He led almost 1000 royal soldiers to win 5 consecutive battles in just 3 days.

In his success, bringing the trophy back to the Palace was a delightful feeling for him, not until he saw the Queen and King.

"It shocked the royal prince when he saw his parents bathing in their own blood," Yuan stated. Everyone turned their heads to him. No one thought that he would add some information. Their wandering gazes made him amused, so he continued, "Poor Prince, who would have thought that his trophy will be his parents' dead bodies,"

Xianyu gripped the chapstick he was holding. "W-What h-happened to him after that?" he asked.

Yuan looked at him. "Do you really want to know?" His voice was icy, yet calm. Xianyu nodded at him.

"He lost his mind," Sun Wei answered instead. "Excuse me?!" He gave Yuan a sharp look. "How did you know about it?" he asked.

Instead of answering, Yuan again laughed, but his laugh was like an escape from the question. Xianyu didn't know, but he sensed something from that light giggle.

Yuan placed his index finger on his lips. "It's a secret," he said.

"Are you okay?"

Xianyu took a step closer to the male who was leaning on the windowpane, staring above the moon that was glaring at them. Yuan moved closer to the other side. "You can sit beside me," he invited the male.

Xianyu walked backwards, then he hopped up when he found the perfect timing. The other male pulled his arms for support. "Be careful," Yuan said.

He smiled at the other male, then he raised his head above, "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" Xianyu said. It made Yuan also smile at him. "Do you like it?" he asked.

Xianyu felt something was odd. After they finished that conversation earlier this morning, Yuan became more silent for an unknown reason. It was new to him since Yuan was always teasing him. "Yuan?" he called out. "Are you by chance, lonely?"

After spitting that question, the thin clouds from above started to sway. It almost covered half of the moon, which made their surroundings dim. Yuan, who was gazing at the stars above, lowered his head. He took his eyes to the trees not far away from them; he watched the grass sway gently with the chilly wind. "Do you know what happened to the Prince after he lost his mind?" he asked.

That question made Xianyu gloomy. He secretly clenched his fist when he felt a sting in his chest. "I want to hug him and caged him into my embrace," he blabbed out.

Silence fell between them.

This time, Yuan's light chuckle was not light. It was somehow heavy. "Why do you want to hug him?" he asked.

"Hmmm.." Xianyu leaned to his side, "Because he was lonely. Sometimes we just wanted to escape reality and live inside a dream. If that Prince was living in a nightmare, I would like to be his sweetest dream,"

Although deep but nonsense, Yuan got what Xianyu wanted to say. He unconsciously raised his hand and placed it on Xianyu's head. He brushed his hair. "Now I want to be that Prince," he said in a joking tone. It made the other male flustered that his face turned red again up to his ears.

Xianyu jumped down from the windowpane, then he used his elbow instead to lean. He watched the moon peeped from the thin clouds as the dim sky turned warm again. "Sometimes I want to live inside my dreams, too. I know this will sound funny, but I am not familiar with this world... I woke up not even knowing everything about me, even my name," he stated, fidgeting with his fingers.

"Xianyu," Yuan gazed down at the male. The wind blew his hair away, exposing his red eye. It was filled with warmth and sincerity when their eyes locked. Xianyu couldn't move. He didn't even realize that Yuan was already cupping his cheeks.

Under that moonlight, between the chilly night. He heard an unanswerable question. "Xianyu, would you like to break the rules with me?"
