Transmigration of Shams: The Legendary Cultivator
Chapter 66:Different Goals
Refusing to share his sources of his information and how he got such important Intel regarding the activities of the noble clans.
Master Narcisso may be the youngest master of cultivation in the realm of humans, but he does not lack wisdom.
"Narcy!" Shay exclaimed.
Demanding for answers.
But the youngest master only smiled after hearing Shay mention his name.
"It has been too long since you called me by that name." Master Narcisso reminisced his memories with Shay.
Reaching out for her hands.
He continued his words, "I miss you, Shay!"
Unfortunately, Shay was reluctant to have any physical contact with the former disciple of Master Wushu.
"Let go of my hands, Narcy! I mean … Master Narcisso." Shay became formal with him.
She continued,
"We are not here to talk about our feelings. I agreed to have a private talk with you because of the remaining threat lurking around in the shadows. Such dark presence roaming around the territory of Golden Dragon Sect is very dangerous for anyone. Especially … the innocent ones!"
"You care too much with others. We truly have different goals!" Master Narcisso remarked.
"What do you mean, different goals?" a confused look was painted on Shay's face.
"My only concern is for those I care. And I have none … to those I have no relations with." A direct reply of Master Narcisso.
"We are truly different. I can never understand how you could sleep at night without caring for those innocent ones. Sometimes I still doubt if you were the same person I grew up with. With those words you have uttered, were you really a disciple of Master Wushu? You sounded as if you were never his student."
"Exactly, one of the many reasons I left his school and resigned as his apprentice. Because I grew and my eyes were opened with reality. All of you are still clouded with the heroic and martyr teachings of Master Wushu. Unlike me, I learned to be realistic and practical. In order to survive!" A serious tone on Master Narcisso's words.
"Am I not right? All of you in that school tries to be heroic in all possible ways. Learning from the martyr way of thinking of Master Wushu."
"Do not mock our master!"
"Your master, not mine!" Master Narcisso reminded Shay.
Silence followed his statement.
Wind breezed against the long hair of Shay.
Her exposed skin made her chill for a second due to the coolness from the wind.
Her curves were accentuated by the fitting of her dress.
Emitting such sultry presence.
Master Narcisso went straight ahead to his request on Shay.
"I want you to avoid any futile attempts of tracking down that villainous creature, Shay! You cannot do it alone. Your vengeance for our fallen brethren is pointless. Remember the difference in your power and strength. That man is on a different level than us. Steer clear from that individual."
"And if I refuse to follow?"
"Please, Shay! Do not make me worry for you. We both know … only death follows if you go against that man in your current state. He was able to fight Master Wushu easily without getting wounded."
"Then, what do you suggest? Be coward and stay away from him?" there was a hint of agitation in Shay's voice.
Brushing off the hand of Master Narcisso away from hers.
"It's better to be a coward than fight a pointless battle, Shay!"
Looking away from Master Narcisso, Shay heaved a sigh.
She could not believe what she was hearing from the man she used to love … or maybe still in love with.
"The best thing we could do is find out what he is really after. And maybe with that … we could find a way to defeat him. Do not jump into battles that you cannot win. Sometimes, surviving for the sake of others is way better than dying while putting everyone at risk." Master Narcisso gave his last advice before walking away.
He wanted to hold her tightly once more.
Just like he used to before.
But he knows, Shay would not permit him.
When Shay finally turned around to look at Master Narcisso,
Her old flame was already making his way back to his disciples.
Leaving Shay with her own thoughts.
Under the shade of a huge tree.

On the other hand …
Back in the great hall …
The emperor and the champions were directed to a private VIP Room for a personal talk.
Something that was requested by the emperor himself.
Since he has the intention of recruiting the champions to his army or inner circle for their future endeavors.
This was a usual tradition where champions are being offered the best future.
Unfortunately, ever since the years of domination of the School of Master Wushu, their master and his disciples kept declining any offers from the emperor.
Though, only Feilong and Reema remained alive ever since their master kept refusing the offers from the noble clans and the emperor himself.
Including Master Narcisso before …
Until one day, he changed his mind and left the School of Master Wushu.
The other disciples of Master Wushu who became champions of the tournament died at the hands of the mysterious dark villain which Shay and Narcisso encountered before.
"So what do you think about my offer? Oh, champions!" The emperor asked.
Feilong and Reema looked at each other because their master was not around for them to seek counsel with.
But Shams was enticed with the offer given by the emperor.
"You mean all that wealth and reassured position in your court are truly a package deal? No adjustments? Is there any contract to make it binding?" Shams did not hesitate to convey his thoughts.
The emperor was surprised with the words of Shams.
Because usually, there would be direct refusal from the disciples of Master Wushu.
"Hahaha~!!! This is interesting from the usual disciples of my older brother." The emperor became more interested in Shams.
At that point, the emperor gauged at the young champion seated near him.
Unaware of the past and connection of Master Wushu with the emperor.
Shams exclaimed, "Brother? You and Master Wushu are brothers?!?!?!?!"
