Trickster Hunter
Chapter 8 - Blood mist
Chapter 8 Blood Mist
"What if that shadow... is really a strange thing?" 0401 worried.
"If it is really a strange thing, report it to the Investigation Bureau and ask them to send a 'hunter'." Captain Huang said, "But the premise is that you have to make sure that the thing is really a strange thing, otherwise..."
"What will happen otherwise?" 0401 asked curiously.
"You don't want to know." Captain Huang shook his head with a straight face, as if he was very secretive about those guys called "hunters".
"Hunter, is it the 'expert in dealing with strange things' mentioned in the mission information?" Sun Hang asked.
In his limited common sense, there are more or less fragmentary descriptions of the profession of investigator, but for the word "hunter", he only has one interpretation in his mind: "a person engaged in the hunting profession".
Obviously, the "hunter" in Captain Huang's mouth is not the "hunter" in Sun Hang's understanding.
"That's right... but to be honest, I would rather face the vicious lawless thugs than deal with those things." Captain Huang sighed and said.
Sun Hang noticed that his adjective for "hunter" was "those things" instead of "those people".
The two sheriffs had walked to the place where the figure just stood. They shone the flashlights in their hands on the ground, and saw a series of clear footprints on the floor covered with a thick layer of dust, extending all the way to the direction where the figure just fled.
"Looking at the size and shape of the footprints, it seems to be a woman, barefoot, flat feet, and the little toe of the right foot is missing." A sheriff who is proficient in traceology quickly analyzed.
"Chase." Captain Huang's order was concise and to the point.
Everyone immediately followed the footprints. With the traceology expert, although there were many miscellaneous footprints in the passage, everyone never lost the target. They chased from the second floor back to the first floor, and then to the basement of the haunted house.
And in this tracking process, the sheriffs also got a surprising clue.
Among those messy footprints, they found the footprints of the missing trainee sheriff!
"The size 38 field training boots, it's Hu Lijun." The trace expert nodded to Captain Huang, "She finally went into the basement, and then she never came out."
And the barefoot woman in the robe also fled all the way into the basement in front of him.
For some reason, Sun Hang always felt that something was wrong.
Before entering the haunted house, he glanced at the advertisements on the wall, which detailed the various attractions inside the haunted house, including the theme secret room on the first floor and the retro maze on the second floor, but there was no mention of this basement.
"Does the haunted house include the basement?" Sun Hang raised his doubts, "Why is it not mentioned in the project introduction outside?"
"It's probably a place like the power distribution room, monitoring room, or control room of the mechanism." 0398, who has returned to normal, said, "This kind of place is not open to tourists, and it's normal that it doesn't appear in the introduction."
The entrance to the basement is a locked iron door, which is covered with rust and some dark brown suspicious traces. It is unknown whether it is water mixed with rust or blood left by some creatures.
"Bang!!"
With a muffled sound, the door-breaking hammer directly smashed the door lock, and two sheriffs holding riot shields directly used their bodies to knock open the iron door and rushed in with shields raised.
The remaining sheriffs also drew their guns.
A dozen meters away from the door, the barefoot woman in a robe was standing under a huge painting, lowering her head and reciting something in an indistinguishable voice.
At this time, everyone saw clearly that she was holding a retro oil lamp in her hand, and the weak flame was constantly shaking at the end of the wick.
"Don't move!" Captain Huang shouted in a shocking voice, "Put down what you have in your hands! Take off your hood! Raise your hands!"
The other party did not pay attention to Captain Huang, but instead accelerated the speed of reciting.
A strange fragrance filled the basement, and the next second, crimson mist emerged from the cracks in the floor, instantly enveloping everyone.
"Control her!" Captain Huang ordered.
The two sheriffs holding shields were about to step forward, but they found that their bodies seemed to be frozen in place as if they were out of control. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't take a step forward.
"Huang... Captain Huang, I can't seem to move!" The sheriff holding the shield said with a hint of fear, "What's going on?"
"Is there poison in the mist?" Captain Huang subconsciously raised his hand to cover his mouth and nose, and raised his other hand to shoot, but before he pulled the trigger, his wrist suddenly softened and the whole pistol fell to the ground.
Another sheriff also tried to shoot, but something even more terrible happened - he raised his gun and originally aimed at the knee of the man in the robe, but just one second before pulling the trigger, he suddenly moved the muzzle to his colleague next to him.
"Bang!"
The sound of the gun echoed in the basement, and the sheriff who fired the gun had his colleague's blood splattered on his face. He glanced at the body at his feet and immediately let out a terrified cry.
Everyone in the team seemed to have lost control of their bodies, with one exception.
Sun Hang moved his wrist with some confusion, then bent down and picked up the pistol that Captain Huang had dropped on the ground.
He found that the crimson mist that came out of the cracks in the floor kept a few centimeters away from him. Wherever he walked, there would be a human-shaped "blank area", as if the mist was actively avoiding him.
Are they... afraid of me?
Sun Hang tilted his head and thought for a moment, then walked straight to the woman in the robe.
He smiled at her, then raised his hand and slapped her in the face.
"Pah!"
The sound of the palm and cheek colliding was very crisp and resounded throughout the basement.
Everyone was stunned, including the woman in the robe.
After two seconds of stunned, she said in a sharp and trembling voice: "You, you dare..."
"Pah!!"
Another big slap interrupted the other party's questioning, and even the oil lamp in her hand was knocked to the ground.
The moment the oil lamp went out, the blood-like mist disappeared instantly.
"You...you...are unforgivable! He will punish you..."
"Slap! Slap! Slap!!!"
Loud slaps rang out one after another, and the woman in the robe was slapped back and forth. In the end, she had to squat down and raise her arms to protect her cheeks.
"Don't...don't hit me..."
Sun Hang rubbed his palms, which were already a little red and swollen, and couldn't help but sigh in his heart - as expected, the action of force is mutual.
He turned around, glanced at the people who were stunned in the place, and shouted: "Why are you still standing there? Come over and handcuff them!"
