Trinitas Mundus - The Story of Saint Knight Ray
Episode 65: The Battle of Millice Valley: Part V
About thirty minutes after the Stellas crossed the earth base of Oak's body and headed to the rear of the enemy, Ray continued to hang his healing magic, even though he lost his mind several times.
(It's easier to be on the front line. The only reason I can't cure someone suffering from an injury is... if I had a little more magic, some of them would have been helped. There are also injured people coming out of the Fifth Squad. The youngest Zadok broke his arm. Mr. Norma is unconscious with a blow to the head. A lot of other people I know suffer... if only I had a little more power...)
And at some point, I realize there's a dark book down around.
(When did it get dark? Earlier, after I lost my mind because of the magic? And you're hungry. Hehe, do you feel hungry in these piles of corpses... does that mean I'm used to this world too?
To restore magic, once back down, they fish for food.
And there was a sweet dried fruit, and as he rode it, he searched for the likeness of the close ones.
(Ash is with Mr. Hamish. Stella... is that it? I don't have Stella. Are you with Mr. Alberic? There's no Mr. Alberic either. Is he sitting somewhere?
His ability to think was diminished because of his outage of magic and exhaustion. The walk was as flimsy as a sleepwalker, but he walks to the front to find Stella.
(I knew I wasn't there. I wonder where he went? Did you go to Millis Village to pick something up?
I thought he would get in the way of Hamish in command, but I really cared and went to ask him about it.
"I don't see Mr. Alberic and Stella, once you get something?
Hamish does not answer that question and gives instructions to the soldiers on the front line.
I have no choice but to ask Ashley the same thing,
"No, you didn't notice. Aren't you holding back?
"I'm not anywhere. I wonder where he went?... No way!
Suddenly, his voice grew louder and his blurred expression instantly turned into a hurried look.
"Maybe Stella and Mr. Alberic... went to assassinate the enemy commander... what do you think, Mr. Hamish!
Hamish said in a low voice, "Yes. I gave you permission," he replies.
"Why not! We have a low success rate, and we have almost zero survival rate! Why..."
Hamish has a flat voice and talks pale.
"Those two were given three: Lazares, Berta and Renzi. All three of us are good at putting out the signs. Besides, with Lazareth and Al, there's a better chance he'll come back alive. He says he doesn't need to come back here, so he's more likely to survive than we are."
More anxiety spreads in Ray's mind.
"So, but... how long ago did you leave?"
Hamish does not exchange any emotions, he only goes on to state the facts.
"That was about thirty minutes ago. It should take about thirty minutes to ambush the enemy because it needs to be quite a bit larger."
It turns out that it is already an impossible situation to chase, and hopelessness spreads within him. And I couldn't forgive Hamish for driving me to a dead place.
"Why did you allow it! Surely someone could survive. But there's no chance that they'll all survive!
"Perhaps half, three will die. Either Al or Lazareth will survive, but we won't know later."
Ray's anger explodes into the way he can be described as irresponsible.
He gets stuck so Hamish can grab him.
"Can I die! He's one of us! This isn't dying! You're killing me!
Hamish returns strongly to the word.
"That's right! The Commander's job is to kill his allies! There's no battlefield where everyone can make it home safely! It is the task of the Commander, the true Commander, to see how efficiently he dies!
There was no anger in Hamish's eyes, and colors similar to sorrow were floating.
Ashley was taking Ray's arm and turning to herself.
"Calm down. I haven't decided to die yet. Calm down."
To the words Ray regained some calm and regretted saying too much.
"... I said terrible things. Excuse me. But I knew I wasn't going to be a mercenary. And, of course, to the knight... I can't stand the fact that my people are dying..."
"Never mind. I did the same thing when Abby - Abby Markat, Hamish's wife - died. I don't care."
To Hamish's seemingly lonely voice, Ray is reminded of his own incompetence.
(Mr. Hamish and Mr. Alberic have been dating for over thirty years. I also heard that Mr. Lasalles and I have been together for quite some time. I've had Mr. Renzi for over a decade, and Mr. Berta... even though it's harder on Mr. Hamish I ordered... you can't, I... it's no use thinking any more. Now let's all think about surviving)
"If there is confusion in the enemy, what are you going to do?
Suddenly, the subject changed, Hamish and Ashley didn't think, looking back at him more.
"Where the enemy has moved badly, hang the slash. I'll be right back before the mess subsides."
(Kill the enemy commander, that's fine. But if you were one of Tamer... no. That's hardly confusing. It doesn't make sense. Because I'm fighting to keep this place dead for at least two more days or two. We need to be afraid of night raids, and we need to keep our forces around us...)
He thought he needed to make it look like he was hitting the next hand after causing confusion to the enemy.
(Create a big mess to hang up the little mess. Multiplying it makes me think that more ambushes will strike... with my magic, I might be able to figure it out...)
"Listen to me. In case of confusion, I will strike the magic of the fireworks into the enemy. Hang a slash in that gap. Make a relatively lightweight unit and make it look like there's an ambush unit going through the body of the oak."
As Hamish listens to Ray, he becomes the face who says he doesn't understand the purpose.
Ray sees it and forcibly laughs niggly.
"What do you think of the enemy who saw it? Can you be sure that everyone has returned to this position? It's this darkness. You must think some of them slipped through. Then there should be a suspicious demon in the enemy. Let's hope so. If you still can't, type in some fireworks in the middle of the night and repeat the same thing. In time, your enemies will not be able to step forward for fear of surprise attacks."
Hamish nods and looks at him suspiciously, "Your magic is fine, isn't it?"
"Yes. I'm not going to die here. Besides, fireworks magic doesn't use much magic... I'm sorry that healing magic can't be used for that matter..."
Hamish agreed to go with the measure and went to tell everyone about the operation so the fireworks wouldn't confuse his allies.
The leftover Ray sat down on the spot and wished the five of them well.
Ashley, standing beside him, was worried that his magic might was okay.
(Remember what Estelle - Estelle Binisti, the healer of the elves - told me in the city of Morton before. He said magic is the power that people need to live, the source of their lives. It's dangerous to use it above the limit... but if you use it above the limit, you could die. Does Ray remember this?
She tried to tell him about it, but there were no words in his appearance to wish the five of them well.
(If you're going to be impotent, let's put up our bodies and stop it. But now I'll let you like it)
Oct. 7, around 8: 30 p.m.
The night sky was lit with clouds, by the way, but meadows that were battlefields in the half-moon light that appeared between the clouds.
But in the eyes of the ordinary man, accustomed to the magic props of the lights, there was so much darkness that he could not even see a few meters away.
The Stellas were moving out of formation and crawling through the low grass.
We made a huge detour around the battlefield and finally found a large group that seemed to be the main force of the enemy.
There were more than two hundred orcs roaming around, plus about ten orcs patrolling the perimeter.
They approach cautiously as they sew the patrol.
Approaching a distance of about 100m from the group, Alberic speaks to Stella in a small voice.
"That's suspicious over there. Stella, how's it going?
Stella dares to stand up and observe that group carefully.
Even the audacious Lazareth, the floating Alberic, was so surprised that he lost words in his actions.
After staring for about thirty seconds, he kneels quietly and reports the results to Alberic.
"There were three Middle-Ghost tribes that looked like Tamer. I don't know which commander, but it looked like the three of us were discussing it."
"Copy that. But Stella is bold, not by her looks, is she? All of a sudden you get up and you stand and you watch."
Stella had a face about how she could ask that.
"If you're in this position, you can't tell the shadow by the eyes of the oak. Because moving halfway is more noticeable."
Alberic is convinced and stands up himself.
And I started looking for the three Tamers Stella said.
"I just went a little from center to right. I feel like I have a slightly different head shape than an oak. Look for it and see."
"I was there. You sure look like Tamer. Yeah? Don't one feel a little different. Are you weaving a cape?
They slowly approached the enemy commander while securing a visible position.
Yurki Bindler had summoned two of his men to give instructions on the attack at night.
"A third of our enemies are already incapable of fighting. If you keep attacking me at night, I won't keep you till morning. But don't be alarmed. The enemy set me up last night as well. The enemy has a terribly mindless man. Never be alarmed."
While Yurki said so, he was satisfied that the extent of the enemy's reduced power was more than expected, and was confident that tomorrow morning he would be able to report victories to Asura - the Winged Demon Spellman - and Balthazar - the Great Ghost Operator (Tamer).
(I might get away with it, but that's fine. Lord Balthazar beat the feared enemy.)
He wasn't alarmed, he was keeping his surroundings alert enough.
But because Stellas' abilities stood out more than that, I couldn't notice the assassins after his life.
