Trinitas Mundus - The Story of Saint Knight Ray

Episode IX: Memory and the Future

November 6th.

With Ray's only hope, he'll be strolling around the city.

At first, Ashley was reluctant to say, "Don't you have to go to Lord Randall?"

"I don't have a reason, but I think it would be better if we knew a little more about the city. I feel like we should gather information at weapons stores and tool stores before we go."

Ashley followed his words if he was thinking of anything.

We go to the dining room for breakfast, but Ray had a quieter meal than usual, thanks to yesterday's interaction hooked up.

(Also, I hate to get tangled up... but if this city is in a more dangerous situation than I thought, I'd better head to Doctus, an academic city, or Aurelia, a commercial city. It's not like I have a brother-in-law... because I'm not very impressed with one thing yesterday, this city is)

Because Ray doesn't talk, it's a natural and quiet breakfast.

Sometimes when I looked around I came down at a relatively late hour and there were few guests in the dining room. But there were a few equipped adventurers left.

Ray was eating down to keep his eyes out of sight as much as he could, but he takes an interest in the gear of one woman adventurer.

The woman adventurer looked like an archer, almost leaving the dining room with a cape in leather armor and a long bow in her hand.

The shape of that bow, unlike the normal long bow, is unbalanced up and down.

(That bow is a Japanese bow, right? It's also a big bow... a brunette archer, a Japanese bow... what, this feeling... I can't remember...)

Ray stopped the hand of the meal and continued to follow the woman adventurer with his eyes.

Ashley noticed Ray's hand stopped and tried to speak up.

But his gaze echoes that he is a young brunette adventurer.

(Who is it, that woman? Why are you staring at me so much? Why......)

Stella noticed that Ray's condition had changed just like Ashley's.

(The moment they saw that female archer, Ray's condition changed. You are very surprised. What are you so...)

Ray, thinking about it, had no idea how the two were doing, and was chasing them with his eyes until the archer left the dining room.

(Who was that now? If I stay here, will I see you again?...... hmm? What were you thinking right now?

Now he forgets about the female archer he was chasing with his eyes, and Ray restarts his meal as if nothing had happened.

And I realize something's wrong with Ashley and the others.

"What's going on? Something's wrong, though?

Ashley wanted to hear about the female archer earlier, but was worried about how to hear it.

Stella from the side of it,

"I was following the brunette woman earlier, the archer, with my eyes. Do you know that guy?

To an unexpected question, Ray loses his words and becomes cramped with answers: "What, what..."

"I was staring at you like I thought. I don't know you very well in this world. At least you don't know anyone I don't know..."

To Ashley's question, he was confused.

"I don't know. What was I looking at?... Why don't you remember?

Ashley calls his name "Ray," and holds that trembling hand.

Ray also felt Ashley's temperature, calmed down a little, and his smile was back.

"Thank you. I'm calm. Shall we go out after dinner?"

That being said, anxiety was swirling in his mind.

(What happened? Dark-haired female archer...... archer...... bow section...... I can't seem to remember... I wonder what I'm forgetting. I feel like I can't remember anything important...)

He shakes his head gently and changes his mind.

(I can't remember anything I can't even remember thinking about. If it reminds you of something, let's wait for it. It's more important to think about whether we should be in this Periclitle right now)

The three Rays take a peek at arms stores and tool stores in the city's southern district, the district with the most adventurers.

I have enough weapons, but I'm going to listen to a lot of things on the pretext of replenishing Stella's throwing sword.

Ray casually speaks to a storekeeper who seems to like the story at a weapons store.

When Ray talks, "You seem busy everywhere," the young clerk explains, "Customer, have you been here recently?"

"You know about the rumors that there's something strange going on in the mountains, right? That's why the Alliance sent out a massive investigation request. That's about 50% more than usual, and a lot of guys are headed to the woods."

"I see. But if it's just an investigation, aren't you going to wear out your weapons?

When Ray turns to the water like that, he keeps happily talking.

"But the unusual mountain demons are coming down to the woods. Those guys have a lot of unscrupulous numbers about grade six or seven. They do. And I'm talking about something more aggressive or more belligerent, and when I find the team, it's going into the dark clouds."

"When it comes to demons coming down from the mountains, what kind of guy is he?

"Hard guys, armored lizards (armored lizards), rock pigs (rock bores), and triple beetles. The guy who comes home after a fight with these guys will destroy his weapon."

Ray said, "What other guys are out there?" and whine intriguingly.

"Some of you saw a killer bee (killer hornet), a giant mole (giant mall), and a cocatrice."

Similar information was available in other stores, and even voices were happy that various materials were available cheaply at the tool store.

(I don't know because I don't have a market view, but the demons I don't meet unless I go pretty deep, that sounds like a lot of very popular demons, too. It's like he's running away from something and he's feeling like he's standing there, so I guess that means something's happening in the mountains or something just showed up)

Walk around the city gathering information until after noon.

Around three o'clock, the wounded adventurers became more prominent, buying the sympathy of those who went to the city.

Ray suddenly said, "What do you think of Ash?," he tells Ashley.

Ashley thought a little before

"There's definitely something going on in the mountains. It's pretty massive, too."

Ray nodded, "Right,"

"I feel like we're getting pretty close, but do you think this city could get attacked?

"It's not that close, and they hunt around the city quite often. Is everything all right in the city?

He nods and asks Stella for an opinion on what she thinks too.

"I don't know. But I think it's dangerous here. If you have no reason to be here, shouldn't you leave?

Ray nodded to Stella, then said, "Well, shall we go to Mr. Randall's?" and started walking towards the center of the city.

(The city is attacked... the nest of rough eagles... demons... demons! Demonic raid! I remember that! It's a demonic raid!

Ray suddenly remembered some of the plots in his novel.

In his novel, he was interrupted where the Demons were going to mount a massive raid.

That date and time is the Winter Solstice Day, that is, the first day of January the following year. Less than two months away.

He suddenly stops and turns back to Ashley and Stella.

"I remember! The novel I was writing! Do something important!

The two were surprised by Ray's excitement, but he started talking regardless.

"On the first of January the year dawns, the Demons raid here in Periclitle. That was also a pretty massive raid. More demons than the adventurers here..."

Ashley said, "So what happens? This city! I hear,"

"I hadn't written anything from there yet. I had a plan for what would happen, but I can't remember. I can only recall that there is a raid now, that is imminent in two months... I need to tell you about this"

Ashley grabs Ray's arm in an excitement and shakes her neck to the side.

"But there is no proof. No one will believe that story."

Ray gets excited about the word all at once, and he says, "Right."

"But it's true that there's a demonic raid. I'm the only one who knows. It's just us. I don't really remember, but the Demons were supposed to be on levels like five or six grand. If you don't get your hands on it soon, the city will..."

"Why would the Demons attack this city? What is the purpose of this?

Ray can't answer Stella's question, "I can't remember."

"Really...... but then people in the city can't believe me. I don't think we can do anything alone. So..."

Before Stella says, "Let's get out of town," Ray starts talking.

"There are 50,000 people here. Abandoning it…"

That's all I said, "No," I whine.

"... I feel like I shouldn't be running away from here for some other reason. For some other reason..."

"You can't help thinking about it now," Ashley holds Ray's shoulder.

"I still have more than a month. You should just try to do it to the point where it's critical. If you still don't believe me...... we'll get out of here alone. I don't care if you pull Ray over."

At the end of the day, I declare that to persuade Stella.

Stella nods at the words, "Okay," too.

(But the unpleasant feeling doesn't go away. That's what Master Ashley says, but Master Ray always does dangerous things. So if I...)

So I finished the conversation and started walking straight towards Alliance headquarters.

There was no conversation between the three of them who walked out, and they were engulfed in bitter air.

Upon arrival at Alliance General Headquarters, he tells them of his visit to Randall at one of the receptions.

The receptionist was surprised by the young man's desire to meet Randall, one of the city's heavy towns, but took turns just in case.

Then, I am contacted immediately to see them, and I will rush to guide them.

Randall's room was on the third floor, and the outsiders had no one but the Rays.

Is it uncommon for young adventure-style men and women to walk amongst the staff who seem busy, and all those who differ, look back.

The guide is guided in front of a heavy wooden door, and the guide's staff says, "Please wait a moment" and goes inside to confirm.

Here again, the door is opened immediately and let through inside.

The guide's staff looked at the door where they walked in wondering who the Rays were.

(Who is it? Who are those people that Master Ogburn says he wants to see right away?

Inside, Randall laughs, "I thought you'd be here a little sooner," and invites the Rays.

"I'm sorry to be so quick, but I'll tell you why I came to see you yesterday..."

Randall is buying an arm that protected the merchants with a few escorts, and he wants the Rays to help him investigate the woods.

"Just three of us are fighting four-handed bears, killer hornets and soldier ants to buy arms that did little damage. I need your help if I can."

Ray was thinking about how to convey the demonic raid, so he just snorted, but Ashley was replacing him and questioning Randall's sincerity.

"There must have been a lot of second- and third-degree awesome adventurers here in Periclitle. Was Lord Randall really waiting for immatures like us for just that?

Raise your hand like a surrender to Ashley's shooting eyes.

"Ok, ok. Let's be honest. Class 2 and 3 level usable guys are dispatching behind Aquila..."

In his story, Awesome men of the second and third levels are sending them to investigate in the more dangerous mountains of Aquila, leaving only the fourth class.

Some of those fourth-level classes had magicians, but at parties of about ten, they struggled quite a bit with flying demons.

So we formed a thirty man crusade force, but in that number, no fast-paced flying demons came close, or began to strike in a larger group.

Randall tried to switch to a policy of defeating demons with a few elites, but those elites can't go behind the mountains and use them.

Just then, only three mercenaries from the Mercenary Corps of Markat (Red Arms) heard that they had defended the merchant corps and decided to scout.

"I got hit pretty good today, too. Those guys are veterans of about level forty, too, but I guess they weren't compatible. The avant-garde is safe, but the rear guard is pretty well hit."

Ray also became calm as he listened and began to question Randall's sincerity.

"And there are only three of them. The commander himself wouldn't bother scouting, would he?

"He asked me to keep my mouth shut outside, but the adventurers in this city right now have a large number of people and little experience fighting at multiple parties. I mean, you don't have a commander. You know that because you guys were in the Red Arms, too. You don't have a head. No matter how strong the troops are individually, it's no big deal. Rumor has it that Millis Valley pushed 2,000 oaks back with just 200 soldiers. It's Hamish's command, so it's what we can do. Don't you?"

Ray could understand what Randall was trying to say, but he wondered if that was really possible.

"I know what you're trying to say. But we're not moving the adventurers here. Even if we talk about the Red Arms."

"I guess so," Randall nodded honestly to the word, but immediately grinned,

"But they're not stupid either. If you want to survive, I don't care."

And I looked around at the three of them,

"All three are Class 5 mercenaries. Right? Then our fourth-level guys and strength are mutually reinforcing. As I said yesterday, hey to the battle, if you're on the same level, armaments go up to the Red Arms trained by Hamish. If you strangle me one shot, I'll hear you soon enough."

Randall then talks about the size of the investigation team, the rewards and other conditions.

Ray was thinking about the difference between adventurers and mercenaries at that time.

(Mercenaries do change attitudes up and down the level. But adventurers are not power. How efficiently to accomplish the request…)

Think that far and realize that this situation is unfavourable to the adventurer.

(The way adventurers crusade is not to invade and go and beat them with force like mercenaries. They should use methods that are good at setting traps and ambushing them. But that doesn't work this time. It's hard to trap a fast enemy coming into the dark clouds. So you mean a white feather arrow stood against us who knew how to fight mercenaries)

Ray sends Ashley and Stella an eye signal and starts talking to Randall.

"I understand the story very well. The three of us will talk to you about whether you want to take it or not. I need to talk to you about this, okay?

Randall tilts his neck slightly before nodding.

"Behind this demons' actions is something to do with the Demons. Perhaps the Devil's Troops, that's also a powerful Troop, appeared in the Aquila Mountains? Demons who were surprised by the demons fled the mountains. Naturally, throw away the territory and the bait yard. And they also come after more powerful demons that prey on that demon. Isn't that a schematic?

Randall is surprised for a moment, but immediately listens back with a serious look.

"Do you have any proof? First of all, the Demon Clan is after Lax, isn't it? That's why you sent all the troops. Isn't that what you guys know best?

"There is no evidence. But...... a massive army of demons has certainly attacked Lax. But there was something wrong with their movements. I was wondering if the real aim was Lax..."

Randall roars hmm, "You can't believe it in Russia," he mutters.

"If that's the truth, there's nothing I can do. As long as the request for the Demon Crusade is out of Lax, yes, the army will not be able to turn this way. Unless you have solid evidence, just speculation."

Ray thinks what Randall is saying is true, but he couldn't help but say it.

"You're right, but if you don't hit your hand quickly, you won't make it. Even without proof...... sorry. I feel like I can't."

Ray left Randall's room behind tomorrow morning saying he was coming to respond.

The remaining Randall was thinking about Ray's alleged invasion of the Demon Clan.

(That young man named Ray, why do you insist on invading the Demons so far? He says there is no proof, but he pretends to be sure... but there is something about last year...)

About a year ago, there was a sudden activation of demons in the depths of Aquila. At that time, although the involvement of the Demons was suspected, it is known that it was in the end another factor. As a result, I couldn't immediately snort at Ray's words, even as Randall.

(... just suppose it's more than the army that invaded Lax, at least five thousand. The defense of this city is poor. It will be difficult to protect the city from all that armies... well, let's just say it's true...)
