Trinitas Mundus - The Story of Saint Knight Ray

Episode Twenty-five: The Darkness of the Devil Nation

Ray was horrified to see the Bishops of Light Divinity pulled away.

(Good. I'm sorry we got involved any more. Especially that Saint Knight feels the same as an arrogant nobleman. I feel the same as the knight who was in King Lax's Kingsguard......)

Still, it was before noon and I went out to go out for lunch outside the inn.

Near the college in the old town, there were many private school students and researchers, and many cheap and good fixers lined up.

After lunch at one of them,

"I don't have a body to go to the library right now, and what am I going to do?

Ashley and Stella didn't seem to have anything in particular to do either, and I decided to go home to the inn while bluffing.

Returning to the Inn, my husband Chas has eared that the Bishop of the Light Divine Church is waiting. He also seemed to have overheard an earlier conversation,

"If you don't want to see me, you can keep going back to the city. 'Cause I'm gonna do something I never saw."

When Ray said, "Is it just the bishop? Anything else?," Chas said, feeling somewhat strange,

"It's just one person. I don't have that great knight from earlier, and I don't have an entourage. Though this city is safe, it's a careless story wearing so much jarring and jewelry."

Ray is interested in Bishop Gastaldi returning alone, but "We're going out of town again," he said, leaving the inn softly.

(What are you doing here? You're here to ask me where the magic team is? You just have to check with the guild at Periclitle. How come we're talking about this?

He had doubts about the bishop's actions.

(You don't understand the principles of light theism. Wouldn't it just exclude those who believe in the Dark God... well, there's nothing more to do with it, so there's nothing I can do to care)

Get out of the city again and bluff, but it's a narrow city and soon you'll have nowhere to see it.

I had no choice but to return to the School of Magic.

"Shall we go back to college? Show your face to Dr. Raspade, and if nothing happens, rent a school garden and train."

Ashley and Stella were also in favor of moving their bodies, and soon headed to the college.

When you enter Raspade's room, Raspade welcomes them in, still facing the desk.

"You've come to the right place. I just got some new information about the Demons. Very interesting report..."

Raspade's story was shocking.

After the Rays fought in Millis Valley, the Knights of the Springs of the Kingdom of Lax liberated Fort Chulock, which was under demonic raid. Count Victor Rockletter, the Knights Commander, then followed a retreating demonic army into an abandoned village called Denwood.

So, we found traces of the Demon Clan - the bodies of a large number of young women.

"... a report from the Kingdom of Lax said he had found a way to summon a large number of orcs. They were summoning demons in a really interesting way. Let the female body take in the demonic crystal stone and nuke it to conceive the demon. And use the magic formation..."

His explanation is still hypothetical, but it was that a previously unknown method could be considered.

First, implant the demonic crystal stone in the young woman's body. And by having the woman conceive the demon and force the power of the Spirit into its demonic crystal stone, she grows rapidly. The child of the born demon also swallowed the demon crystal stone and used it to “manufacture” a large number of demons at once.

It is believed that swallowing the Demonic Crystal Stone allowed the power of the Spirit to be magical = vital, and that little food was needed. Furthermore, it was that the demonic crystal stone was being used as a mediator to control the spirit of the demon.

Listening to the story, Ashley, Stella and Ginny, women, looked up and Ray was also nauseated.

(Terrible way... those killed were turned into “machines” that produce orcs. How can you do such a terrible thing? If we listen only to this fact, we hear the claim of the Light God that the Dark God is the Evil God correctly. But they also do terrible things against the Stellas and the Beasts. Maybe it's the same hole...)

"So a researcher at Monster Tame noticed that if you let a specially processed demon crystal stone swallow, or embed it in your body, you would be free to manipulate the demon. Maybe the demons who attacked you this time used that method."

Ray wondered how to embed the Demon Crystal Stone in a wild demon.

"But if you're a demon of a child who hasn't been born long enough, I think you'll embrace the Demon Crystal Stone in adulthood, how do you let wild demons swallow it?

"Dark attribute magic has magic such as sleep and paralysis. I don't know how big it is, but if it's small enough, I can also take a way to mix it in the bait and let it swallow. It's not that hard."

Ray comes up with being there.

"Is it only valid for demons? Does it work the same way for people?

Raspade roared "hmm," then

"Theoretically, it should work. It shouldn't be so different in principle from the collar of a slave. But even though the collar of slaves still retains its self in the wearer. I find it difficult to be a complete slave... but I often don't know what a person's heart is. It may also be possible to be completely enslaved if you are in a weak mental state... but this is only a possibility..."

Ray sank into his own thoughts as he heard the words.

(It's easy to catch solo or a handful of party adventurers if the demons who were serving demons went around Periclitle. That way, the adventurers who have become the forerunners of the Demon Nation will be free to enter and leave the city. If there really is a demonic invasion, this is a very dangerous situation... then I may be in the same condition...)

Ray was thinking about his memory being manipulated and what he had in common about how to manipulate the spirit.

(The magical power to my abnormality. Operation of memory. The situation that appeared in this world...... Demons, no, it's not strange that there are demons involved that could be in another world. What should I do when I think about it...)

I'm done explaining Raspade, but Ray says nothing.

"Arklight, do you think the Demons are trying to manipulate people?

To Raspade's question, Ray, who was sinking into thingies, reacts freakedly. And I shook my head sideways small.

"No... I felt the possibility was terrible. If someone is being manipulated by the Demons before they know it is entering the city... it has to be strange when it happens if there are many people in and out of the city..."

"You certainly can't deny the possibility. Well, there won't be any sudden manipulation of important people, but it's a worrying thing."

Raspade speaking like one, but what the word was seemed to be serious about the dangers behind his back.

"Let's see if the researchers have any methods of discovery or countermeasures, though not yet definitive. But you can't spread this information too much. You're going to sow the seeds of a ghost all over the city."

Ray nodded at the words,

(It's a common setting for mystery novels. If rumors spread that we have an insider in us, that community will collapse with a suspicious ghost. If an attack from the outside is added at that time, you'll lose in no time. But I have to pass this information on to Randall in Periclitle... do we have to go? No, even Mr. Ginny and Dr. Raspade......)

"We need to tell Periclitle about this as soon as possible. Wouldn't it be possible to pass this information on to Periclitle at Ginny, who is also an authority teacher and adventurer at the School of Magic?

Ginny looks at Raspade and thinks. Raspade exhaled fuzzily,

"You can go, but it's only a possibility, so you probably don't have the ears to hear the researchers bullshit. Persuasive person, I think you or Ashley would be better suited... or is that why you can't go to PericLittle"

"One is about phototheism. You've been in contact with me earlier, so if you go to Periclitle, you'll persevere in telling me to show you where I've encountered the Demons. Hopefully, you don't want to act with them. Another reason, sorry, I can't tell you right now..."

"I'm interested in another reason, but let's not ask now," Raspade said, pleasantly accepting Ray's request.

Raspade and Ginny carried a letter to Randall written by Ray and Ashley and were to leave for Periclitle the next day.

The Rays, who followed Raspade's room, return to the "Sage's Away” pavilion.

Along the way, I've been asking questions about why Ginny was concerned or couldn't talk.

"Ray, you go faster, but... can you tell me why on the other hand?

Ray looked sorry and said, "Excuse me. I can't talk about this," he said.

"Please come back as soon as possible. As soon as I speak to Mr. Randall. Perhaps Pericritle..."

"What about Periclitle?

"... PericLittle will be a battlefield..."

Ginny stopped unexpectedly, "What do you mean! scream."

"I can't tell you why. And I don't have any proof... but..."

Instead of Ray, who makes it hard to say, Ashley said,

"Ray's (...) is a good hit. Even in Millis Valley... I don't really want you to spread the word, but“ White Master ”in Millis Valley poetry means Ray."

Ginny was immediately convinced that, although surprised for a moment, "I knew it".

"I thought you weren't. He was a white armored magician and a magician, and he was advising you like a military teacher. Got it. I don't ask why. I'll be back as soon as I can. But I'll tell Mr. Aldo - the leader of Ginny's former party - that it's going to be a battlefield."

Ray said, "Nice to meet you. Warn as many people as you can," he says, bowing his head.

"With that said, you told everyone to be careful when they come to Doctus (here). What does that have to do with anything? Well, fine."

Ray was still worried about whether he should go while talking to Ginny.

(Actually, we should go. I think it would be easy for Ash and I to convince Randall... but I still don't trust myself. I'm going to talk to Ash and Stella later to see if I'm making the right decision and how it affects me... but now I just think this is the best...)

We arrived at the Inn “Sage's Away” pavilion, but confirm to Inn's master Chas from the back entrance that there may still be officials of the Light Divinity.

"There he is all the time. Oh, come on, it's a sales jam. He's a Bishop of Light God, and clearly, he's like an enemy of academia."

Chas says that light theism has a very bad reputation in this city with some fanatical followers blaming researchers of dark attribute magic or burning related books.

(Do you even burn books? For once, I didn't want to get closer and closer to being a novelist. They want to seal off speech with violence and decide that there was no document they didn't like. Because there's nothing more horrible than a bunch of people who can't admit facts as facts)

With that in mind, he sympathized with the seemingly annoying master of the Inn and decided to meet the bishop.

Ray said in an emotionally drained tone, "Sounds like you've kept me waiting. Because I didn't think I could come back," he said, bowing his head lightly to Bishop Gastaldi.

"No, this is the one I'm reflecting on earlier as a disrespectful response"

The bishop bows his head in the same way and gets to the point.

"Again, I'd like to ask you... to guide me to the cave where I discovered the magic formation."

"The answer is the same as earlier on the matter," Ray shook his head sideways.

Gastaldi said, "I won't let that fool speak. Still no good," he said.

Ray shook his head sideways again and Gastaldi had a slightly discouraged look on his face.

"So how about ten gold coins (thousand C (krona) = one million yen)? I think it's pretty broken."

"If it's about that, I don't want the money. If you ask me at the Adventurer's Guild in Periclitle, you'll be able to tell me. Check it out there."

"The money won't work... it's about Bishop Azaro of Morton, after all. You seem to have a pretty bad impression of my denomination."

Ray is still wary that he knew about himself.

"You seem to be doing quite a bit of research on me already. So it's a waste of time even if it's any more... Bishop Azaro almost killed my dearest man. No, he was almost killed. Because the reason also sheltered the Temple of Darkness. That's all it takes to make a good impression on a bunch of people trying to kill people."

Gastaldi shook his head small,

"I'm sorry about that. There are some fanatics in our church. Plus fools like knights who can't follow God's teachings earlier. But not everything. I want you to know that."

"I'm going to know. Mr. Bassani, a Morton priest, tried to help me by confessing his sins."

Gastaldi's expression brightens to the word.

"Then help us..."

Ray refuses, so as to block his words.

"No, we won't cooperate. As an individual, some will be able to trust you, but as an organization, I don't trust you at all."

Gastaldi is surprised by the words, and gives a convincing look.

"After all, he seems to have a vision that doesn't suit his youth. But my light divinity is a teachings that I was interested in saving the ruin of the world. I just want you to know that."

To put it that way, Bishop Gastaldi walked away.

Ray looked behind the bishop,

(Something about Stella. There's no way we can save the world to a religion that doesn't think of people as people. And that gold hobby. If you have money to hang on decorations, you can save the poor with that money. I've been thinking about it for a long time, but you can't trust a religion that spends money on buildings and idols. Sure, it's an historic legacy after hundreds of years, but it makes me wonder how many people could have saved it with that money. I guess no one has studied that......)

When Bishop Gastaldi returned to the Inn, he immediately summoned a priest, a subordinate,

"Return immediately to the Holy Capital and report to the Cardinal. He said he found himself... by any means possible. Hurry up and ask for directions."

Instruct yet another priest to put Ray under surveillance.

"That one has disbelief in light godliness. Use the Beast Man to discreetly monitor. But never make contact. If the surveillance notices, switch to something else immediately. You got it."

Gastaldi was just finishing giving instructions and wondering if there was any clue as to what he was doing.

(In the meantime, I showed my sincerity with the action of continuing to wait. That young man has considerable insight, but if I show that much sincerity to a young mercenary, at least my feelings for me personally should be good...)

Gastaldi had hardly ever left Luke's Holy King. For that reason, the clergyman mistakenly believed that he could gain unconditional respect.

Then I will think about the instructions I gave my men and what lies ahead.

(Now it's important not to lose sight of the whereabouts. Attach as many as ten beasts. You can't lose sight of it if you're wrong. This one should just confirm the intentions of the headquarters and move on to action. And then there's the Devil's Crusade, but you should gather information in Periclitle. Paredes - Commander of the Crusaders - is the neck, but worst of all, you just have to change and leave the command to the deputy captain...)

He made sure he had no clue what he was doing and decided to leave for Periclitle the next day.
